I cant tell you with absolute certainty, he is a poor guitarist. He has written some basic, but kick ass riffs, but his technical ability is limited at best. Wolfmother should look into a new lead guitarist, to add killer solos. That would make the band soooo much more epic. Their pentatonic-bases songs are dying for some real talent.

@jckbac9 okay bro, you don't need to be an amazing guitarist for the band to be great, you just need to fit the genre you play. i.e. Meg White of the White Stripes (granted she's a drummer) but she is not skilled AT ALL at drums, yet the White Stripes is one of the best rock bands of the decade. Stockdale is an EPIC writer and is perfect where he is. Don't fix it, if it ain't broke.

Andrew Stockdale doesn't let his total lack of talent get in the way of playing a solo. The major/minor and pentatonic scales are probably the simplest there are but he fails to find his way around them all the same. Utterly bereft of technical expertise or musical imagination. Anyone who doesn't hate him is retarded.

i like wolfmother but this solo blows and the guitarist' ability isn't anything special but his like iommi, young, cobain etc. the talent is in the writing ability plus he is already a bad ass singer without playing the guitar at all
