  • Why do you pick these fights? Hike your own hike and let other hike their own hike. If you keep this up I promise your stove business will suffer. Slow your roll Tinny,

  • As usual your way is the right way

  • I am pretty sure I have said "I do not boil water" about a hundred times or so over the last year. Just because a bag says to boil water does not mean you have to actually boil water. The vast majority of the time I rehydrate my meals with cold water, not even taking the time to warm up water. Guess what: They still taste the same, have the same texture, and it might take a little bit longer to rehydrate, but learn how to prepare meals on the trail people!! Rehydrate BEFORE you get to camp!!

  • @RedwoodOutdoors Redwood--I don't like cold lasagna--or mashed potatoes or Chill mac. And if you figure the extra weigh of carrying the meals in your pack for hours with water in them you could easily justify a stove and fuel and be eating a good hot meal. Say nothing about hot drinks and other thing warm or hot water comes in really handy for. The numbers for not boiling water just don't add up. This is a nobrainer

  • @minibulldesign All a matter of hiking style tinny. A few months ago you were comfortable at the 8-9 pound range, now you have found the way to the 5 pound range in comfort by giving up a few things. Those who want to get lower have to give up other things, and a 1 through 10 ounce cook kit and fuel is one of those things some of us make the decision to give up in order to reach lower base pack weights. HYOH YMMV.

  • tinny, went on a 12-mile hike yesterday through mammoth cave national park with my hiking friend, used my bios stove, i boiled water to prepare a meal and coffee, thanks for all your videoz, i checked out this person with the rip-off stove, he claims he made some improvements to the stove, so it is not the same stove, i think it is obvious this character is a rip-off. i am surprised more people don't steal more of your ideas. stay origional tinny. dj

  • Smoke eater is a big trashy turd

  • To be fair MH says that all meals can be prepared with cold water. It doesnt take to long from my experience. Just stir and it takes only a few minutes longer. They also make a line of products that specify cold water to prepare. Good video though!

  • Heat, one form of which is boiling, is essential for life in a cold climate. anyone advocating unboiled water for meals without carrying fuel risks death.

  • LOL! Tinny you stir the pot well... Hopefuly you've gotten it out of your system your product speaks loudly enough. Don't get sucked in and make it a back and forth. You have in MHO the better product now at a better price. You win now put that energy to making my Moodoo and get it tto me so I can test it and post a review.

  • At sea level, water boils at 212 F, at 10,000 feet water boils at 194 F. If you look at the freeze dried packages, prep time is based on a 5000 ft elevation. At higher elevations, the food need to stay in the pouch longer to completely soften (sometimes, quite a bit longer). So, the lower the water temperature, the longer the wait time to eat. Knowing this, you can choose how you want to make your meals. Lower temperature = longer wait.

  • I don't think the person you are referring to was advocating pouring cold water in dehydrated meals, just maybe saving a little alcohol by getting the water say 185 or 190 degrees. Now, maybe that really does not save THAT much fuel, but some of the tea I drink recommends steeping at 185 - 190 and heck, I can't drink coffee if it's boiling anyway. My meals have also rehydrate fine with 190 degree water, just saying. Of course, sterilizing water is a whole different story...

  • after Hurricane Katrina, they issued us M.R.E.s and instead of boiling the water, you mixed it with some other agent. This forced a chemical reaction and was super hot to the touch. I was just wondering if you have ever come across meal pack like the one i mentioned? They seem very useful.

  • @ken0is0gay0fan0club No need to boil because the meal is HYDRATED. M.R.E.'s are just that... Meals Ready to Eat ... i.e. COLD. They only need to be warm, for the sake of morale. DEhydrated meals nead boiling water. The fact that a DEhydrated meal meal actually NEEDS boiling water or not isn't nearly as important as the proper setting. Warm is relative to EVERYONE. A boil is the same, the world around.

  • LOL buy one from minibulldesign, ive got a question tinny. Where did the name minibull design come from?

  • outdoortrailgear is the loser smokeeater908 site. Him and raulperez1 have something against Tinny - weird?

  • @guillermomomomo I figured this post was made before I clarified my position in the other video. However, I would appreciate my name not be used to be associated with the current issue at hand since I have zero involvement in this "stove war". And as I have stated in the previous video I have officially suspended my review until I can decide the proper course of action.

  • @RaulPerez1 Yes, this post was before I realized you had not known about smokeeater908 stealing Tinny's designs, and I apologized for my snap judgement. I am not sure which vid or post, but I posted yesterday. The crux of the issue is with this coward punk loser smokeeater908 who thinks no one knows he is actually a moron.

  • Keep up the great work Tinny. Look at the other guys stove and the workmanship is not there and the thought and caring that you put in to your work wasnt there.

  • Hmm.... seems like a SmokeEater908 attack

  • @MaybeMistaken That is funny. Seems like common sense to me.

  • Tinny, went to the ebay site and left a short message regarding his backdraft m5 he stole and just gave him a "shame on you for stealing your idea". Please keep up the great work and vids, enjoy the information you provide! thanks again Tinny!

  • @gwestlun Thank you

  • not sure why you wouldnt need to boil water. hwo long does it take for a cold tea to steep? or taste like? or a cold coffee? I guess if you like to carry pounds of food, and eat it cold, great on ya! but i think the majority would be preferring a warm, tasty, light weight, quickly made option over the "non-boil" option.

  • At this rate you will hit 2000 videos in 2012.

  • Tinny you are just cranking out so many vids:)
