  • I also forgot to mention the Davis K-8 school, where I went for kindergarten, has a Simplex 2001 system as well. They have Simplex 4051 horns on 4050-80 light plates. The school was built in 1974, so I think the old panel was a Simplex 4246 or 4208, which died and needed to be replaced, because there is also a Simplex graphic annunciator in the main lobby (1980s-style version) and 2098-9806 test stations around the school (with the current Simplex logo on them)

  • What's the model number on that horn?

  • the panel marchtime rate is very slow.

  • no its stage 1 after a certin amount of time it will go into a faster marchtime

  • how do you know? from what I was taught, the 2001 panel is only a one stage panel

  • the truth is i don't know it just seem like the soud it would do if it where in stage 1 its what it sounds like

  • I believe the simplex 2001 has a pre signal

  • I believe the Simplex 2001-8001 is one stage but there's one that is like 8098 or something and I believe it has a presignal

  • This particular 2001 has a simple coding card, which pulses out which zone has been activated (in this case, zone 1). Everything on a 2001 is optional. Simplex may have made a two-stage or presignal card, but I'm not sure.

  • An ebay auction showed the label which showed a checkmark for Presignal alarm, so I am sure simplex had a 2 stage card for the 2001.

  • what coding is that

  • General alarm.

  • The Shaw's supermarket near my college has a Simplex 2001 panel! But it loos a bit newer than this one (with a black door on the front and the "2001" lettering on the casing), and the signals mainly have these unknown red Simplex horns behind SAE strobe plates, an SAE VA4 horn/strobe and a Wheelock MT horn/strobe. There are also Simplex 2098-9808 remote indicators, and no visible pull stations.

  • is the sounder plate completly silver?

  • It soundes like a coded panel that pulses out the pulls code. (coded pulls)

  • Code the alarm to march time

  • is that simple coding? or what ever its called where it does 1 beat per zone.

  • That is not code-3. It's simple coding.

  • THAT'S NOT CODE-3!!!!!!

  • it has march time rate module in it. do you need end of line resistors for it to clear the troubles.

  • Is that a 9838 without the grille?

  • were did you get your hands on a 2001?

  • Sounds like supervisiory.

  • What code is that?
