No, the hissing sound is audio feedback. You don't hear it under power as the engine sound overcomes the feedback. The noise could be heard even with the car stationary in pits with engine running.
Much better camera used after this 'installation test' day. Listen to the other video recorded in the same car with a better system.. The problems stem fro the fact that the period ignition systems are unshielded and don't use 'suppression' spark plugs wires either, as a road car would.
Trust me, I see your point. But please read the comments. The point of the first laps was to test the many refurbished components (engine new from reuild, new gearbox, electrics, plumbing, etc.) and begin sorting the setup. First shakedown laps on a 35 year old car after a lengthy restoration. Check out the incar from Thunderhill in the same car after sorting it out. note: sideways aint fast, fun, but not the quick way 'round.
im jealous, i would be ecstatic if i could muck around in a formula vee like that!

is that hissing steel brake discs, if it is its weird how they are after the apex, i drove with brakes like that but thats bizzare to say the least
