I have this CD and have been curious about that too so I researched and according to one source, the guys in switchfoot said that she's a fictional character and created as the antithesis of the "concrete girl" from the Legend of Chin record but I dunno if that's accurate. Meh

@standup4kidz I'm almost 100% sure the song talks about a woman who lived about 50 yrs ago. Her name was Amy Carmichael. As the song says, she had an incredible fire to change the world, she did tons of work for orphans in India!! The things she said and wrote reflected the love of the one she followed and loved with her whole heart: Jesus Christ, best man in history. She was an amazing woman, and really fits Jon Foreman's lyrics.

I suggest you look her up, its worth it ;)
