hahaha yea it looks like that .. but when u look from a side window u will find it really fast .. this happens because the runway is wide and the lines on it are really big, so it looks slow therefore it doesnt makes any confusions to the pilots .. same thing for the roads, the higher speed roads has bigger lines

Awesome Vid. I Live there! LOL. From the ground those planes coming in also appear to be hovering forever if viewed nose on.

Oh...and to all the idiots whom probably DONT live in LA commenting on smog, that isnt smog. Thats the marine inversion layer, hence the high clouds and "grayish" look of it. Smog is brown or beige, and its almost always clear air above it. But yeah, keep hatin...maybe one day your dump town will grow up and be a city too!

I remember flying from Atlanta to LAX - several times - and when we were on final approach - for about 2 minutes - there was nothing below us except pool - house - pool - house - pool - house - pool - house - pool - house - pool - house - pool - for about 3 minutes - there had to be THOUSANDS of them - and all in the LAX landing pattern!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @Emoidiot187 I don't agree. That's just the warning chime that sounds when the autopilot is disconnected. Simply means the pilot flying is taking over manual control of the aircraft.

4:20 was about 20ft RA, no way in hel the is being extended in that amount of time. Trust me the warnings would've been sounded long before. Flight control configuration along with the approach armed and of course the altitude are being monitor by the EGPWS system. Take that back he was on the ground at 4:20

@futafanyow This is on a high visibility day too. Some days it's 10x worse. Flying in China is the worst though. Even in Hong Kong. All of the pollution from Guangzhou spills out into the harbor and you're pretty much at Ray Charles status trying to land a plane full of passengers and low on fuel at an airport you can't see.

So they turn off the Auto Pilot at teh begining of Final Approach? I dont understand why? When I am on FSX doing landings, I always use ILS. If ILS is not available, I set up the auto pilot to help me make a controlled decent to the runway, decending at 800ft per mn at a speed of 150 knots. Why do most real world pilots chose to do it manually?
