I love how a musician of the 50's could show genuine respect for the interviewer. Compare this to modern "rockers" who do everything they can to project a "tough guy" persona. If modern music had more guys like Gene, perhaps it would be worth listening to.
I was at this performance. Gene was what we called 'hoody' back then, a slightly "dangerous" personae. He couldn't fully bend one leg as he wore a brake as a result of a motor cycle accident. We went looking for him at the Stoddard hotel. Instead we found his band members Bubba and, I think, Paul in their room...sweet, total gentlemen...careful not to invite we nubile teens into their room. I remember what a huge wad of gum one of the them was chewing. Later I receive a postcard from them.

"A Gene Vincent Record Date" L.P. is a treasure I keep since the 50's.
Songs like "5 feet of lovin" I used to sing when I was 8 years old and I still keep singing.
"The wayward wind" and much more. Wonderfull

The interviewer almost sounds like David Letterman.

The interviewer is Lindy Shannon, a local DJ and booking agent for bands in the area.
