You have good ideas, but do the execution and final projects all have to be so sloppy? Take the extra time needed to fully finish your projects properly and the results will not look like such a cluttered hodge podge. It's all in the details. I really am not trying to be nasty here, just a little helpful critique.
Can you do a necklace holder that's NOT a tree? They look nice but it's really hard to get the ones in the back, and I always accidentally knock it over or get them all tangled up.
I think the ideas are great, but the execution not so much. Ive been watching a lot of diy vids and the finished result only makes the room look cluttered. I think they have to work a little bit more on the execution of their ideas.
I have a bunch of jewelry in a gorgeous jewelry box but It's not to much of me and I want something I can quickly pick out and wear.
I would like to know how I can make my own jewelry display, like a jewelry tree, stand, anything that I can quickly pick and choose then go off to school, but at the same time have it as a decor piece !
do the same and get a strong branch, or get a hook rack from the dollar store 2 hang necklaces. 4 earrings i bawt 1a peg-holder basket, like a plastic grid, so hook earrings hook onto the squares. i had 2 sellotape a bit of cardboard folded like an accordian on sides of the grid thing 2 make it stick out a bit from the wall so the earrings had space behind 2 hang onto it, pinned up the grid thing 2 the wall so i can easily get earrings off. the earrings themselves were the wall decoration
Yes, chalkboard paint exists, it's been around for about 45 years (you used to be able to get it in green, don't know if that's still the case). But if you like the chalkboard paint idea, you'll love magnetic paint!!!
you can buy cork on its own, without the board. in tiles or in roles. office supply stores carry them, and sometimes even dollar stores....for those who like a cleaner look ;)
chalk-board paint that's awesome,I wish I would have heard of that years ago"if they had that then"... my son was diagnosed with autism and he spent hours out on the side walk which was difficult, I was harassed by the police because of his obsession with chalk!!
I love your style!! I wish I could have such ingenuity! I have saved a few of your clips and plan on trying a few! I've had my home for almost five years and haven't done a thing since I first moved in!!
That's awesome!!!!! I've never heard of chalkboard paint!!!!!! Totally doing that! Also, you can get little blocks of just cork at like, Wal-Mart, and it would be easier to use, plus it comes with it's own adhesive. I'm putting those all over my walls.
Your clothes are so great. I LOVE how you use recycled materials and reuse things as much as possible. Very smart, helpful and ends up looking so good.
DECOR IT YOURSELF is my new favorite show! I was worried it was just a few episodes. Is it going to be on forever now? That is really cool. My friends and I can't believe how great it is. Thank you, Threadbanger! We needed this show.
And small little antiques shop would do. You could also check out garage sales and thrift stores come in handy. :) Oh, and you could also raid any older person's home (especially places like attics and basements). Uh, just ask'em first.
I have a jewelry tree, too, but in my case it's a toilet brush I sprayed with dark blue colour - looks funky on my make-up table and everything fits on it, even earrings!
Ooh! I liked this one a lot! However, if you find yourself using masking tape because you're not allowed to mark your walls, be careful about leaving it up too long unless you want to find yourself madly scrubbing residue off your walls like me.
I love this. I especially love the sound effects at the beginning (the hammer banging). No lie. Thank you for the organizational tips! I need as many as I can get!
i really loved this episode. it was better than the first one, i thought and i disagree with the comments that this is on the wrong channel...I think it is a pleasant offshoot and obviously in the same related world...i really really like the girl who hosts this!
its funny that u made a video about chalk board paint, i just went out and bought some like an hour ago to make a funky wall/chalk board mural for my room. Nice video!
I also agree with the other comments about making a separate channel for this show. Sorry, I watch threadbangers to learn about DIY projects for clothing and such, not how to Organize my workspace. Yes, it is good to organize, but I'm not here to watch about it.
as great as this is i sobscribed to this channel to learn about diy clothes. also this is "Threadbangers" which implies that the focus is on fabric, this does not seem to focus on that. I suggest a separate channel. I would not, however, be against keeping it all on the same website.
I'd love if you could do a video on things to do to your room taht are like, paint alternatives. Like more than a little segment with more ideas [does that make sense or am I talking in circles?]
We painted one drawer on a small set my husband uses for his socks n' stuff with chalkboard paint. I write lovey notes on it occasionally while he is in the shower. Makes for a nice surprise when he fetches his undershirts. :)
Wow, really? That is so cool! Chalkboard, I never knew! Thank you, Meg, that is freaking awesome! And the re-using of cork is perfect, I always see those old boards in thrift stores and stuff. Great idea.
Wow! I LOVED the chalkboard paint idea! I am going to decorate my dorm room with it in college since we're allowed to alter our rooms to our likings! Freaking awesome. (I'm going to an art school.)
They also sell paint that magnets will stick to. So you could use the frame she cut out the corkboard, and put it on the wall, paint the wall with the metal paint and have a magnetic board.
I just like to re-use what I have first, before I buy anything new. Re-purposing is one of the greenest things you can do to cut down on unnecessary consumption. But you can definitely buy it too! Whatever makes it easy for you.
if you're looking for cork boards... just wait a couple more months until people start moving out of dorms. Some of my best stuff comes from post exams worn out college students who just don't want to move things home for the summer!
haha speaking as one of those people soon to be moving out of the dorm, that's also the best time to get futons and couches. You wouldn't believe how many people around here just throw perfectly fine furniture away just because it's a hassle to tote around
