this particular montage ran from the second week in February 1997 - March 1997 when they started doing just the log and lighthouse. So yes this partiular sequence only lasted about 3 weeks. This version replaced Lucy with Jenna and no longer featured Alan-Michael right before Reva. this montage version was because Lucy and Alan-Michael left GL.

Wasn't there a brief opening sequence in early 1996 with the jazzzy theme that featured nick, reva, rick hearst's alan micheal, and nola?

hi i forgot to add that that version of the opening lasted only a few days. That version of the theme tune ran from 1996-1997

No it only lasted a few days then they drop the cast part and just used the opening light house and the Guiding Light logo at the end

It lasted much longer than a few days. I'm sure it's not exact, but I recall it going on for many months - if not the better part of a year.

Buzz looks gorgeous. This brings back such memories. I used to look forward to seeing Cooper so much when I wasn't in school. That picture at the beginning started the passion.
