  • Man there will never again be a series so well thought out and planned as TNG. I had something good to look forward to on TV then. There is no good sci fi on today's television. It was all mixed with horror which sums up TV nowadays. Wish I could go back.

  • At 5:08 I thought that Superman theme was starting up. Surreal!

  • From S1, Riker - "Ahead Warp 6", Laforge - "Aye Sir, Full Impulse""

  • What episode was that when he had that fuzz on his back?

  • @awilliams1701

Season 1, Episode 17: When The Bough Breaks

  • cut to pikard facepalm for no reason. LOL (I haven't gotten to the end of this yet would be funny if you already did that)

  • Mr. LaForge...engage.

  • is that...RIEKER?

  • Thanks for such a nice collage of those first few years end~of~shows. Now if I could just get this thing to fit, errggh, correct, nngh, OK. ! Got it ... Engage. (pre, "Picard Maneuver") It's so much fun to wear these uniforms, but not the spandex ones, the Wool Gabardine. =^.^=

  • Engage,lol!!!!!!!!

  • I remember when I was little, I was too scared of Worf to sit down and watch this show, but I was so interested in it I was always peeking in when my dad was watching to catch little bits of it. Ahhhh....memories :)

  • Come on, way to waste your time dude...The endings are basically the same. Just "engage" and that's that.

  • lolz!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is engaging.

  • How come in the third one they said starbus 4 instead of starbase lol.

  • That ship is so graceful. Screw voyager u could almost fit it in enterprise's shuttle bay

  • When I was young I thought that Worf's name was Dwarf. :D

  • They had such epic music in the first 2 seasons.

  • OMG!!! ı veryyy loooooovee this ship!! Enterprise is my number onee :D

  • 21 people couldn't engage

  • what episodes are 0.44,2.32 and 4.39

  • Picard: But since we can't, take us out of here number one

    Riker: Glad;y sir *sits down*

    lol

  • wes the crusher reminds me of an innocent puppy that was sweet when it was little then it grows into a fucking anoying character. AAAAHHHHHHHHHH! RAGE!

  • 1:32 - "Beam me home RIKER"????

That's "Number One" to you Jean-Luc!

Interesting how in series 1 Riker said "Engage" almost as much as Picard.

    0:53 - Nice jumper Wes!

  • That was awesome thanks

  • i miss those happy endings.

  • There will always be a place in my heart for the next generation it was there for me in a particularly dark time of my life where a lot of bad things went on, it was always reassuring to know that I had it to come home to, it was one of those things that made me feel safe and secure. Watching it now brings back to the old memories of feeling safe and secure in my bedroom and watching one of my star trek tng videos.

Sorry I'm getting really deep and personal now. Great video

  • The 1st season always reminded me a lot of TOS. Almost all of the episodes in both had optimistic endings. Since TOS was their only reference point, it's easy to see why they're similar

  • seven of nine for ever!! but i like both voyager and TNG the others i just never got into and also the original

  • 2:30 the funniest ending EVER!

    picard: en-(voice goes horse)

    data: sir?

  • First of all, all you people being so critical of this show, all I have to say is, Let's see you do any better! It's so easy to be critical of others, I never understood all the hostility in the YouTube comments. It's like a giant forum for angry, self-righteous people.

Anyway, I like this video because it shows the evolution of the series first episodes condensed down to just the endings, of course you have to know the episodes to appreciate this video, but still, very interesting.

  • Kinda similar aren't they. Wouldn't have it any other way. =)

  • @MagikGimp a child molestor, and a film director.

  • You have way to much time on your hands!! lol :)

  • Pretty appalling, why did we continue watching...!?

  • Jeez, now I remember why I hated the first season

  • Hope you like orders to take the ship away

  • Very well, let's proceed with our mission. Mr. Crusher, launch yourself out of a torpedo tube.

  • If only....

  • Comment removed

  • it was so 80s back then loved it.

  • Mr la forge, stchep on it!

  • they really grew up

  • you have the bridge Mr. Troy.

    buwahahaahahahahaa

  • I wonder why Troi went from that outfit and hairdoo in the first season to the brown or blue outfit and longer hair. In my opinion, 1st season Troi was awesome!

  • when did la forge go from pilot yo engineer

  • Starting in Season, he was promoted to Lieutenant and made Chief Engineer. He's not a pilot actually in season 1, he's a bridge officer just as Worf is.

  • Mmmmm... Yar AND Troi!

  • Showing the full credits at the end was a nice touch.

  • which episode is at 4 min?

  • what's 3:15 from?

  • My favorite 1st Season episode...

    4:00

  • Only reason I watched TNG because of Marina Sirtis and her tight costume showing much of her tits, that's about it.

  • damn right

  • 0:51 wesly owned picard, picard is thinking like wtf? i wanted you the hell of my bridge!

  • hey whats the episode called where that one alien comunicates telepathcly and they learn enlgish but they havnt used their vocal cords in so long they use aids on their throats. troi often translated for them.

    what was that episode??

  • Step on it ^^

  • I love how they get all psyched up to go to warp; They make it a huge dramatic thing.

In reality they would just sit there for hours after they engage the warp all hyped up on adrenaline.

  • "Let's see what's out there!"

    5 hours later--

    "Let's see what's out there!"

  • LOL!!

  • @blastardinc Ha! Yes! The next moment you DON'T see is them looking at each other: "Um, shall I put the kettle on? Maybe spend a few hours on the holodeck? Game of Parisi Squares, anyone? Maybe take a nap?" :)

  • lol not bad well done 5 *

  • Were this and other sitcoms dubbed into Russian? As the Russians are misbehaving again, I would think not.

  • 3:09 what the heck? Was that another tribles episode?

  • Uh, no. I believe it's "Where the Bough Breaks."

  • 0:53

  • lol. 1.13

  • Put Wesley Crusher in the nearest airlock!!!

  • rofl everyone seems to hate wesley I always liked him, maybe that was because I watched it as a kid though and could relate to him more.

  • I watched it as a kid too, it bugged me that he was given all those special privlages because his mommy was cheif medical officer.

And that rainbow uniform he wore 3:35 was fugly.

  • lol thats true, I guess I was to engrossed in the show to notice stuff like that at the time.

  • My fravourite episode with Wesley, was on that planet when he stepped over a fence to get a ball...and the authorities wanted to administer punishment...a leathal injection.

Dr. Crusher "No, Jean-Luc, you can't let them do this to my son...bla bla bla"

I met Gates McFadden in 2006...I forgot to ask her what she thought of Wesley...I'm betting that even she hated him. LOL

    Mommy's boy!

  • He was supposed to be very clever in some areas, that's why he got privileges.

  • Keeping in mind that this was just a show, and that it is a fictional character...Personally, the whole Wesley Crusher "thing" just rubbed me the wrong way, as it did many other people. I am actually surprised that I have received two comments to the contrary, and I respect your opinion. However clever he was, the MAIN reason he had bridge privledges was because his mom was the chief med. officer. Happens in the real world too.

I also hated Dr. Polaski...anyone offended by that? Anyone?

  • I'm not a fan of him, but I don't hate him either. He's just part of the cast.

    Why do you hate Pulaski?

  • Here is an example of why I hate Dr. Pulaski. Type this (below) into the search box.

    ST:TNG - Pulaski bitchslapped

She was always very disrespectful to Data. Talked about him in third-person, called him "it", ect... He was a form of life, but she always questioned that fact.

I hate her because she is an Androidphobe.

  • Isn't it 4:00 AM over there? Don't you sleep?

  • I'm the only one I've ever met who liked Polaski. I liked that she challenged everybody. Crushers moral righteousness got on my nerves, and every time she'd whine about how the prime directive wouldn't let her do what she wanted, made me want to smack her. Polaski would do the same thing, except I got the feeling she was more of a force to be reckoned with. I think they wanted someone who had an attitude like McCoy. They made her leave cause she kept kicking their ass at poker.

  • @Taniseth i like polanski too, she was the only woman on the show with half a personality. crusher was boring and troi was a living self help book.

  • but with good tits!

    sorry, I meant wits.

  • I'll say this for Dr. Polaski... I'd take her over that damn EMH from Voyager. Oh boy, here come the negative feedbacks.

  • who the hell is Polanski?

  • Reminds me how bad the first season was..the rest of the series was on the mark but that first season.....makes ya cringe

  • They just had to find their groove.

  • "Engage motherfucka!"

hahaha! i totally agree with thanks51.

geordi would be my favorite character if he said that.

  • At 4:07 Geordi shoulda been like, "Engage muthafucka"

  • omg s1 was shite

  • Generally speaking no and stop making irresponsible fantasies online

  • lol...BRING IT ON JERKWEED

  • That was season 2 with the writer's strike and they had only one reworked Phase II script, "The Child". Another one was "Devil's Due" in the fourth season.

  • "Where Silence Has Lease" was also a Phase II script.

...and Season 1 was... maybe half shite. :)

  • I don't know why the saucerless ship has me in fits.. It just looks so hilarious...

  • WTF is Wesley wearing at 0:56?

  • oversized clothes maybe he's trying to be hip? looks like his grandma gnitted it though

  • It was the Bill Cosby look. Very popular in the 80s

  • The tight uniform was giving him back problems so they changed it for him.

  • engage!

  • I love picards "shtep on it"

  • You're right, I never noticed the Superman music! LOL! And season one is the only one that has that ridiculous comedy music with everyone giggling on the bridge. Yeah, that's professional!

  • The light hearted 'comedy' ending music is almost sickening. And John Williams ripping off his own Superman score like he did in a few other places too.

  • John Williams never composed for Star Trek.

  • most of the episodes are picard looking sick to death of this weeks planet and they're annoying trouble causing inhabitants. "lets get away from here!"

  • Imaginative. It's something like I would've come up with...

  • The message of Star Trek is diversity/multiculturalism is nothing to be afraid of.

I am optimistic about humanity's future. The only question is, when will the Earth unite and when will terretrial war be a past's thing?

  • ace lol

  • engage

  • what a great show.

  • every member of the crew was thin back then :P it's fun to watch this or a random season 1 episode, and then go watch nemesis. even data is fat on the movie xD

  • make it so

  • You should do the other endings from each season lol. It be quite some fun doing that.

  • Engage.

  • engage

  • I forgot all about Wesley's ugly orange sweater. I for one liked Season 1, it was definitely unique but still good.

Anyone who tells me the Bynar episode wasn't good doesn't know what they're talking about (episode 11001001)

  • dear lord that jumper was awful

  • The Yar ending was nice, but the rest seem a bit creepily formulaic.

  • I have to agree, the first season of TNG tried too hard to be like the original series. TNG really fell into its own grove in the second season.

  • Ok sorry but tng came into its own during season 3. The only season worse than season 2 was season 7.

  • Maybe, you're right. I don't remember the episodes that well.

  • I remember a lot of the early eps being a little too close to their original series counterparts. It got better as it went along, then got worse again, as many long running series seem to do.

  • ENGAGE!!!!!!!

  • Ya, this is part of the reason why the first season sucked. They tried to end every episode like the original series, everyone sitting around the bridge in smiles.

  • that was cool, a lot of memories came flooding back

  • ENGAGE!

  • Excellent! Could you p/s upload a season 2 one.

  • Well.....that was different

  • At 4:12, the musical cue is from the Unused TNG Theme, before they scrapped it for a revamp of Goldsmith's theme, sweet. Anybody ever wonder why Wesley's old uniform had a rainbow pattern? hmmm..... lol

  • I always thought season one of TNG was always the worst, too much like TOS, and although I love TOS, it doesn't work with hte TNG characters.

  • agree totally - season 4 was when it peaked & the chars were fully developed; began to polish

  • shtep on it lol

  • engage engage engage engage engage step on it engage lol

  • LOL!!!

  • Engage, engage someone should count how much they say that!

  • that is so weird to see brent spiners real eye color...

  • "weird"... there's a choice of words I wouldn't make.

    Beautiful

    Gorgeous

    Stunning

    Sexy

    Heartbreaking

    ...

but "weird"? I have to confess that that's one I haven't heard.

  • by weird i believe they meant that it was odd... you don't usually see that. there for it is out of the ordinary and thus weird.

  • I agree. Have you seen the episode called Birthright? I was so cool to see him out of makeup for more than a couple of seconds.

  • This was a clever idea, I liked it. :)

The quality of the clips is really good too, unlike a lot of ST clips you see on YouTube.

  • the one with the fingure traps data has brown eyes

  • huh? They mess with the contacts a little (the color jumps around from that flat, bright yellow to almost amber), but brown? Not that I ever saw. Wouldn't make much sense anyway, considering that Spiner's eyes are blue. I would imagine that one pair of color contacts is quite enough (and in the episode "Parallels", there's a part where the contacts are out and Spiner's eyes are noticeably striking).

  • I've always loved TNG the best. The other new ones are gayer than a 3 dollar bill, and the original with captain Kirk was more like a comedy.....engage!!

  • I now what you mean! I bet that everyone on the original series is a gymnast because I swear the slightest phaser hit and they fling them selfs twenty feet across the stage!

  • still some sick episodes in season one tho

  • season one probably started looking dated by the middle of season 3 when you think about it (production value, look, quality etc)

  • Fuck, when did this become so dated? :(

  • Which episode was the one where Picard had that white fluffy stuff?

  • season 1 disc 5 'when the bough breaks'

  • Kirk had a beer belly and acted like a retarded teenager. The original series episodes had a slower pace and an even stronger tie to the era it was created in (miniskirts and boots).

    And to blitzkrieg1110: :/ I like Wesley.

  • Wesley Crusher is so incredibly gay he almost ruined that show. Luckily the rest of the cast was top notch...

  • Yeah, Patrick Stewart had everything down, Burton knew what was up , guy who played data actually put work into it, guy who played Riker never really gave a fuck, but he was an ok actor , so it was cool.

  • dude i think the actor who played weasley is gay.

  • whuhuh:P

  • Exactly, Wesley was definitely gay

  • i liked picard's ship...it was 80s modern styling in space!

  • Picard's ship is incredibly ugly!!

  • Enterprise D is the best looking ship and the most powerful one at that.

  • @equilibrium1736 the voyager looks better!

  • @TheMatzetopia Oh please!

  • @equilibrium1736 In terms of sheer power, thr Enterprise E had better torpedos, and in tactical flexibility the Defiant from deep space 9 was unparalleled in maneuverability, shock attacks, not to mention stealth, and had incredible power in such a small package. Although the separation to engine and saucer sections of the D was awesome.

  • engage? What does that mean? Hey does anyone know if star trek has come out on dvd or something. I've never seen it before so I'd thought I'd try it.

  • yes, it's out on dvd...all the TNG is...i need it too

  • which star trek? All series from Enterprise to Voyager are out on DVD

  • There is an episode where at the end of the show Riker tells gordi to lay in a course, gordi lays in a course with numbers only and rikers asks why pick a middle of nowhere and gordi replys "We've not been there". What is the name of the episode?

  • haha thats awesome

  • What's the one with Data and the clouds? Around 4:30 into the vid...

  • It's the end of Yar's "funeral".

  • In "Skin Of Evil".

  • oh this NgH

  • ingage

  • In4mador ftw ;D

  • Do they still make the Ngage?

    mmmmmm...taco talking...

  • Engage, shitheads, engage! you mother farkers.

  • Missing my favorite: "The Inner Light". Ah well, still fun.
