  • i thought this was joe walsh?

  • @lookin4skeezas There were two versions of this song recorded - one for the soundtrack for The Warriors (which was Joe Walsh solo), and then this one, which Joe recorded with the Eagles' for their 1979 album 'The Long Run'.

  • The warriors should have another movie about the gang coming together somehow and ruling the streets or defending themselves against some strong rivals... i would give it 10 out 10

  • @webdesign0Kahraman the end of the film and this song is about getting away from gang life to find something better.

  • "Can you dig it?!" :)

  • this song makes me wanna fight

  • It really don't matter what or when,he put the truth about life in the city and it still holds true today in those dark spots, back alley, outside the beautiful lights of the downtown areas, the reality of life mean, and a struggle for your sanity, just like he says.Thank You Mr. Walsh.

  • Joe Walsh did his own version but I don't think it was ever put out on a record. It puzzled me when the movie came out in 78 but the album didn't come out until 79.You'll have to google it to get more info on that.

  • absolutely!!

  • a classic

  • Alot of people don't realize joe Walsh released this song before The Eagles.A great song!

  • @naturelover1957 I surely didn't... what album did he release it on? I have most of his solo stuff and I've never heard this song until "The Long Run" came out, which of course is an Eagles Album

  • I love this fucken song : ) Reminds me of when i was a 9 yr. old kid and was sent to live with my grandparents! on the way over there this song was playing on my aunts car tape player ;......{ memories ... eagles are the shit ; }

  • this is the song you play when you speed down a desert highway in a red 60s convertable car with shades and long hair blowing in the wind.

  • I talked to a guitar player once and he told me it's impossible to play some of the guitar licks that Joe Walsh does. Does anyone else concur?

  • @Parkinish ....LOL....Sure!.......If you've only been playing for about 6 Months or less & don't practice with any regularity......in which case, you could safely make that statement about most any talented guitatist, such as Mr. J. Walsh.

  • I like this song a lot but im a metal head i love metallica and megadeth.but dot get me wrong Eagles are great anyone like alice cooper or GnR?

  • @TheBeastmaul Don't care for Metallica but I love Megadeth, Maiden, and Slayer. Eagles are still at the top of my list. I listen to large variety from Tupac to Suicide Silence to Iron Maiden to Meg and Dia (Pretty gay, I know) to Styx and then of course to the Eagles.

  • "When we see the ocean we figure we're home. We're safe."

  • every one knows this song by the warriors i have to say i am also a victim of that

  • i am sitting here sobbing as i listen to this song. my dad passed away last week, he loved the eagles so we had it playing in his hospital room (he was unconscious but we thought he might be able to hear). this was the song playing when he took his last breath and they turned off the machines. i had never heard it before and the lyrics are just so perfect, "somewhere out on that horizon, far away from the neon sky. i know there must be somethin' better, and I can't stay another night"!

  • @ktmlee1 so sorry for your loss! i was brought up on this music thru two older brothers. the eagles have made some great songs, also listen to :seagul: and : the way that i choose: by bad company. hopefully you.l find some comfort in them! chin up!

  • @robshanria Good song to leave on.

    Sorry for your loss.

  • @ktmlee1

I feel your pain. I went through the same thing exactly with my dad....hugs to you...it is tough but he flying along with you....like an Eagle....watching over you everyday. Look for the signs of him around you...and he will be there!

  • @ktmlee1 some day u will meet with your father im sorry about your loss i lost mine too man be strong bro

  • @ktmlee1 sorry for your loss my friend, my uncle has just gone up to meet my mum, they were like two pea's in a pod, amazing people. never be forgotten

  • @ktmlee1 wow that is errie to read your comment, my dad passed 6 months ago and he loved the eagles too, and we were playing the eagles as he was going......now everytime I listen to eagles it reminds me of him even more.

  • @ktmlee1 I'm sorry for your loss, this a beautiful song!!

  • @ktmlee1 aw God bless

  • @ktmlee1 It makes me want to cry as i read this im sorry

  • @ktmlee1 God Bless Him and all your Family champ, Keep your chin up, trust me, I have been through so much in my life, but as long as the sun comes up each day it's a NEW day. :)

  • @ktmlee1 he went out listening to the eagles surrounded by people who he loved and people who loved him! now that's a great farewell, nothing to be sad about kid!

  • THIS SONG IS SO RELAXING THAT WE DIDN'T REALIZE THE TITLE WAS MISSPELLED!

  • That 1 second guitar riff @ the beginning may be the best 1 second in rock-n-roll. It always makes me cry?

  • i SHIT on the person who disliked this

  • i prefer Joe Walsh's solo version, but this is still one damn good song either way.

  • Just finished watching "The Warriors" for the zillionth time on TV.

    Always a great movie........

  • I was born in the city in a working class neighbourhood. I faced intolerance and bigotry. I had to work and fight my way up. I realize now that I'm better than those losers.

  • @illaztic What? I dont remember disliking this?!...L-O-MOTHAFUCKIN-L

  • @BeerMeister1214 HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @illaztic implying there's something wrong with that?

  • @illaztic why would a farmer boy dislike this song? if you pay attention to the song hes dissing the city and saying its dirty, gloomy and hes saying theres something better (the country). so if anyone were to dislike this id think it would be some yankee. but thats just my thought :)
