McCann has implemented higher standards at the District, so Sweetwater students will be better prepared for going to college and getting a job when they graduate from High School.

I saw McCann's speech and it was inspiring. In an acceptance speech it is customary for them to talk about their experiences. It made you appreciate the opportunities that we have in US learning how the Iraqi people desired to come to the US to attend school. I didn't hear any mention of running for Mayor or campaigning. McCann had a positive message contrary to the mudslinging from the small extreme political element posting negatively on this blog about McCann and his military experience.
I am a parent of a child at Chula Vista Middle School and a teacher in the district as well. I applaud John McCann's service in the military and thank him for defending our country. However, I was at the graduation for Chula Vista Middle and had to sit through his introduction and his speech. Most of this speech/introduction was campaigning for mayor. The last 2-3 minutes had a message for the students. Get real John. Stop campaigning on district time. Take responsibility for your actions.

As a Sweetwater employee, THANK YOU John McCann. He made a courageous move by getting rid of the Superintendent who terrorized the District for five years. I can't imagine this was an easy task seeing the Board had failed to act, well knowing the problems at the District for that long.

I saw McCann's speech and it was inspiring. In an acceptance speech it is customary for them to talk about their experiences. It made you appreciate the opportunities that we have in US learning how the Iraqi people desired to come to the US to attend school. I didn't hear any mention of running for Mayor or campaigning. McCann had a positive message contrary to the mudslinging from the small extreme political element posting negatively on this blog about McCann and his military experience.

I am a parent of a child at Chula Vista Middle School and a teacher in the district as well. I applaud John McCann's service in the military and thank him for defending our country. However, I was at the graduation for Chula Vista Middle and had to sit through his introduction and his speech. Most of this speech/introduction was campaigning for mayor. The last 2-3 minutes had a message for the students. Get real John. Stop campaigning on district time. Take responsibility for your actions.

As a Sweetwater employee, THANK YOU John McCann. He made a courageous move by getting rid of the Superintendent who terrorized the District for five years. I can't imagine this was an easy task seeing the Board had failed to act, well knowing the problems at the District for that long.
The individuals who malign McCann are just Cowards. They are just jealous of his leadership. If he wasn't effective, then they would not criticize him.

McCann will stand up for one thing - himself. He wants to be the mayor of Chula Vista at any cost. For those of you who have responded and lauded him your hero - you have very low standards. This guy is a clown who doesn't know how to handle pressure and will fold under anyone who raises his voice. A weak leader, a weak officer, and a total embarrassment to the city of Chula Vista.

This is America and McCann especially as a veteran should be able to talk about his experience in Iraq. I fought to protect this county and the rights it gives its people.

McCann is my HERO! He can come to my school any day and talk about his military service. You know why? Not because he served in Iraq. Because he fired Dr. Gandara! Weather you are Pro-Union, Pro-Administration or neither, McCann was the only guy in five years to get the Board to make a change. Everyone knows that if McCann didn't make the move, nothing would have ever happened. There is new hope at the School District! McCann's leadership made it happen!

In his first six month on the board John fired Gandara and unearthed a lot of corruption. He cancelled Gandaras' credit card, challenged the questionable grade changes at Castle Park, uncovered a pay to play scandal involving the districts food service provider, ordered an investigation into Alevy Communications... John has shown that he's a proven leader by doing what's right for the district.

I'm a teacher at Eastlake High School. John McCann's graduation speech was witty, creative and thought provoking. There was nothing inappropriate in it. Maybe somebody could post it on YouTube to show that Martin's comments are political baloney.

I'm sure McCann would like it if Martin didn't speak his hate at School Board meetings, but McCann sits there as a gentleman and listens to him. Wow! Mr Casa is a Union Thug! This is a coordinated attack to degrade honorable military service. Mr. Casa is saying that if you served in the military you should NOT be able to talk about that experience. Mr Casa have you ever heard about freedom of speech? Just because McCann did ONE tour in Iraq doesn't make him anymore special than the thousands that have done 2, 3, 4, and maybe 5 tours - and not behind the lines. John McCann is a liar. Martin Casas didn't say anything negative about veterans; he said that McCann should stop diminishing the men and women who serve in the military by using his own military service for political gain. Martin Casas is more of a hero than John McCann will ever be.

I'm a veteran, and I didn't hear any anti american statements coming from Mr Casa. Looked to me like he was questioning your constant use of your status as a veteran as a campaign tool, and also your use of your political position as a campaign tool.
