Jordan took 7 years to be a Champion, Shaq and Kobe 4 years, Robinson, Pierce, Olajuwon 10 years, Nowitzki 13 years... It takes time to be a Real Champion
Man these guys had so much heart. This video didn't show it..but when they were celebrating everyone silenced and all the players huddled together and said the Lord's Prayer. What love and respect there was back then , not jst for basketball but for life in general. Sad to say but it seems thats kind of faded away and youngins nowadays just play off their ego. -Heart- ..that's what separates a good player from a legend. Michael Jordan is a legend..
@Prosopagnosia11 Yeah, let's compare two guys who are finished with their 15+year careers with a well-rounded team to two guys who have only played 8, and thus far have only had 1 season with teammates who aren't awful. I'm not a Heat fan but christ, do you choose to be ignorant?
Anyway this was an awesome season. Love the 91 Bulls.
Just a few months removed from the 20th anniversary of the Chicago Bulls' first championship. There's not a whole hell of a lot I can get nostalgic about, but this is certainly an exception. Now in 2011, the Bulls are once again among the elite teams in the NBA with as good of a chance as any team in the league to win another title. Here's to hoping........ Go Bulls! :)
i was only a baby when this happened i was born in late 1990 and i never knew the experience of the chicago bulls playing 2000's era sucks and 1990's era owns every nba's history
only game I realy remember watching from micheal's bulls days was when they beat the jazz for the second time. even that is a bit of a shaky memory, I blame myself for not seeing more. I didn't seriously start watching basketball untill 2001 when I was 13...........
"Which way did he go; which way did he go" at the :18 mark was one of the nastiest stutter step moves that i've ever seen by the Pip' mistro. Oh yeaaa by the way this officially was pipens coming out party where we was officially out of the shadow of M'J (was that a big shadow) and became a star in his own right.
Im a Laker fan for live and I have to say that Jordan will be the greatest closer and the best winner of all time and Pippen will be the best role player of all time. What I fine stupid is that players like LeBron are making the NBA like a market with things like ''The Stupid Decision'' and making the players of the future be inept players calling each other to make a super team. Thats why I say that Kobe is the closet thing to Jordan, but I know that Kobe is very far from Jordan
lol its funny that phil jackson beat the lakers as a player for his first championship and beat them again to get his first coach ring and now he is the coach of the lakers!
This was a great period in Bulls history, when the team was young and it seemed like they could just keep winning forever. It's just not possible to build a team like that anymore and keep it together for as long as it takes to win a series of championships.
The remember the riots, looting and cars turned over.Oh those where the days when the bulls won.The year after that they police presence was stepped up.I got my cristmas done that year, sweet, sweet shirts and t.v.s
These are the good ole days. I feel sorry for the youngins that will never know what it was to see Michael Jordan play in a live game, on TV or in person...
This video is the best... everytime i watch it i cry... i was a big bulls fan growing up. loved jordan and pippen of course but horace grant is my favorite player of all time. which is why i wore #54 when i played college ball...
Phil Jackson's 1st championship in Chicago came vs the franchise that he'd lead to another 3 straight NBA championships later on in his coaching career...& might win again THIS year:-)
Had it not been for a couple of long range shots from Hersey Hawkins (76ers) and Sam Perkins (Lakers), these 1990-1991 Chicago Bulls would have gone through the playoffs and world championship series unblemished..people always talk about Bulls '96 team (as rightly they should, they were unbelievea-Bull) but this team here doesn't get enough credit for just how great they really were..
in my opinion, this was the most impressive Bulls team because of the dominance they showed, going 15-2 is pretty damn good and they beat the Bad Boys and the Magic man to get it done. This was the best team right here and my favorite Bulls team from the 90's.
Agreed. Other Bulls teams had better records, but I remember this team hitting its championship stride late in the season where I thought they were the greatest team I'd ever seen-and this was before the playoffs began. One game they had the Boston Celtics down by almost 50 at halftime. The defense was just unbelievable.
The Bulls late that season did peak at the right time. I remember also there were games where the Bulls rested their starters in the 4th quarter because they were up by so many points in the first three quarters of those games. And I also agree that their defense was excellent.
@jredditt84 If it was so worthless to you, then why did you reply? If you are American,it's the likes of you that give it a bad name with your arrogance & ignorance.
the guy at the end holding the sign looked like one of the blues brothers design that way or not but it was sweet.one love to the old school dam i miss the 90's.
It's ironic that Phil Jackson's first championship as a coach was a young Bulls team in LA against the "aging" Lakers, a team that he would eventually coach back up to the top.
An aging Laker's team? The 90-91 Lakers had Magic, Divac, Campbell, Worthy, A.C Green, Scott, etc. Only Magic and Worthy were considered old at that time. The Lakers were really good that year, which is how they managed to beat Portland, who were favored to win the championship that year. Don't try to discredit the Bull's first title win.
"Discredit??!!" I'm from the Suburbs of Chicago and a die hard Bulls fan, I didn't "discredit" them at all. The Bulls were easily the team of the 90's. The Bulls legitimately won the title that year and blew through the league. I was very very upset when the Bulls just let Phil Jackson get away because of careless/selfish work by Jerry Krause who had no business sticking his nose into the success of the Bulls.
Krause was a bum, he and Jordan always had issues. In one offseason, Krause tried to fine Jordan 250K for doing basketball activities outside of the team even though MJ had a clause in his contract that allowed him to do so. Not to mention the friction between Jackson and Krause. His problem was that he believed he was responsible for the team's success and he felt he wasn't getting recognized for it. Jerry you won because you had the two best players and the best coach in the league buddy.
but 2 this day, U can't tell that fat bastard that. I just hate that Reinsdorff let that fool break up the team the way he did. Mike & Phil R still supposed 2 be a part of the Bulls Organization.
yeah, krause thought he wasn't getting enough credit for the dynasty, so he destroyed it, when he really didn't deserve any credit at all. he had those players in the late 80s and they couldn't get past the bad boys, then when jackson got there the dynasty started because jackson knew how to win.
I was 8 years old when this happened. I remember running down the street screaming like a maniac when the Bulls won. My dad finally had to come get me.
LOL HAHAHAH I WAS 5 i didnt know what was going on but i remember the streets going crazy!!!!! and me yelling and yelling!!!! damm those were greeat years!!!
it was really touching how Cliff Levingston let out all his emotions after winning. Makes you wanna cry with him, that's the kind of personality he had.
did anyone notice at 4:08 when jordan is getting the champagne poured on his head, that it was kid-n-play in the back? what were they doing there? lol
Yeah buslls are the best, im old enough to say that those times were the NBA gold era with a lot of top line player with the best of all time leading them MJ forever and ever the best of all time, the song of last part from the vidio is "learning to fly" from tom petty.
