I think that the movie was alright and the only big problem that stands out for me is the length of their hair for some reason. Satoko has long hair in this and Rika has short? It should be the opposite but other than that its a good movie. It can't be exactly the same as the anime then it'd just be pointless.

Anyone who is familiar with the truth behind the higurashi mysteries knows that the fact that he left after living there awhile is a MAJOR key and plot point. Leaving it out now means they screwed over the explanations for the mystery in later movies.
