I remember I was eleven when this show became meteorically popular. And then it got canceled and no one told me why, until someone whispered that it was because "Ellen is a lesbian." And there is that time when you turn eleven, and you stop taking "just because" as an explanation. And I remember just not getting why that mattered, because the show was still funny, right?
