I understand you are against their decision to donate to a political party which doesn't support your views. However, I ask you to take into consideration two things. First, if every company made a political donation to a political candidate with similar views would you stop supporting them? Eventually you will run out of businesses to support. While I understand your point, it makes no impact by "venting" to 18-28 year old retail associates who have NO say in what the corporation does with it's money. So I feel for these associates who are harassed by people who try to make points, when all they do is ruin someone's day who makes $11/hr. I used to work at Target and just because the big shots do something doesn't mean the whole company agrees. The Target I worked embrace all kinds of people from homosexuals to the mentally challenge. I worked with many people who were open about their sexuality and were never treated any differently. She's a nice guest, most of the other ones screw with your unquestionable attempt to help them- thinking that it will improve your work performance, when in reality it attributes to a lower score. So I feel for these associates who are harassed by people who try to make points, when all they do is ruin someone's day who makes $11/hr. @seanm80 If they or you are making $11 per hour, you should be thankful you have a job to make $11/hr, since that is MORE than Minimum wage. So, you still get PAID $11/hr whether you're helping and dealing with someone who is bringing items back or helping someone else or checking out customers or whatever. IF you work in Retail or Customer Service and face to face then you should expect to deal with all kinds of people and what they feel and think and are concerned about. Respect them!

I'm not sure if you had payroll responsibilities when you worked at Target but in all retail stores, including Target as I've worked in management there in the past, they cut payroll budget when sales are down. This woman is not dumb. She knows how retail works. The hourly-wage employees have no say in Target corporate decisions, so she did not let them process the refund. She waited for the manager and explained in detail who was affected and how. The manager's job depends on the store's sales performance. The manager is motivated to tell higher ups, "My sales are down because of your corporate donations." (My family owned a retail chain.)

It takes years to build up a good corporate image, and what's called "goodwill" actually has financial value. It can take only one dissatisfied customer to lose goodwill. Boycotts don't need to make a dollar impact. If they make a PR impact, they can be devastating to the corporation.

They are more a part of the corporation than the workers are. Their pay is high, but if the store goes down the toilet, so do they. Finally the county threatened to take away their business license. I went to see the MANAGER. He authorized a refund of the installation, a $500 credit, a reinstallation, and forgave all the interest on my account for the previous six months. Talking to the manager is the right thing to do.

Any store that caves into a bunch of homosexuals should get boycotted for the simple fact that they are weak and don't fight back. If Target caves in then fuck em! Lady you ALMOST did this right, had you just voiced your opinion and boycotted Target it would have been fine but you are a major problem with America along with your radical friends. You trespassed, disobeyed the management of the property by filming there without permission, and stole money from Target by wasting their employees time. But to be fair and balanced you grandchildren should learn that homosexuals make up 53% of all AIDS cases, most Hepatitis (the gay bowel syndrome) cases, have a higher risk of alcoholism, depression, suicide, and countless other negative side effects. I used to work at Target and just because the big shots do something doesn't mean the whole company agrees. The Target I worked embrace all kinds of people from homosexuals to the mentally challenge. I worked with many people who were open about their sexuality and were never treated any differently. Maybe instead of putting the people who work their to make a living through Hell you just write a letter.

But it is true, to an extent. While I work there, I see it as my employment. But I refuse to purchase even an item that costs a few cents.

everyones so worried about the min wage workers of target and disrupting their day. this was a small part of their day. their work still got done and no harm was done. they probably had a little entertainment to tell their friends about. i've been the min wage worker... i never cared about my day being disrupted. i welcomed it.

I work at Target, and I am gay. And what she says about Target being a place where they pride on diversity is true. It does upset me that they would fund someone who doesn't represent the beliefs. In my opinion, what she does is bold and uplifting. She cares that much about her family and loves them that much that she fights for them. Regardless of how she does it, she does it. Beautiful. I applaud you.

@MMZen It is bringing awareness to the store about it. The store could care less about you not shopping there, as long as another customer comes along and "replaces" them. If we boycot Target, they WILL notice a drop in sales.

@MMZen Exactly, what helped gay rights was an entire generation of people just talking respectfully about the subject until more and more were raised understanding that there is nothing wrong with being gay. Being militant at people? Well this sort of behavior isn't making you friends, it makes people angry and sick at the sort of disrespect that can occur in a place of business without legal action being taken.
