  • lol i doesn't throwed... i still have my 64MB RAM and my 10GB Hard Drive and some old NVIDIA TNT2 Video Card... xD

  • @TommyDDoom I am guilty of having some stuff even older then that LOL. I know one of these days I am just going to have to let go :-)

  • Am i think im only here that hears half life 1 in the background.

  • @X3mizx I bet you are right I was really into the half life series a couple of years ago. :-)

  • Always disect old electronic's for parts.tons of great stuff can be saved from unuse electronic's,led.toroid's,ic's,coils,I have a ton of parts from doing this.Great video....

  • @hfradionut46 Thank you very much. A person never knows what they may need again for another project.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties i know what parts are still good in my shitty desktop its emachines <_< and its shit but hell everything runs good

  • @crazymn321fan If it still runs good that is all that really matters :-)

  • wow, old psu and next a big mean watercooled gaming machine :P

  • the microsoft academy teaches to throw bad power supply's away

  • @vanceparker That is a shame. There are still a lot of usable materials in them. I imagine that they feel it is not worth the risk to reclaim the materials.

  • your out of your mind for opening a power supply your lucky you didn't light up like a Christmas tree power supply's store electricity even when unplugged

  • @vanceparker You are absolutely right. I made sure to ground out the capacitors as soon as I opened it to drain the power out of them.

  • thank you for your email - I posted the video response again. You're the best!

  • @Bullmarketgarb I have received the video response from YouTube when I go to approve it there is nothing there. Can you try to resend it again please.

  • get the laser diode from the cd case

  • @JieXiang88 Out of curiosity what could a person use it for?.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties a laser

  • @pyroman1545 For like a laser pointer i assume?.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties yup it makes a burning laser pointer

  • @pyroman1545 That sounds cool. I would like to see a video oh how to make one. And thank you for the sub.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties See mine, i made one from a 22x dvd burner laser diode.

  • @djay2rapstar On my way to check it out right now. Thank you.

  • Hehe! Same keyboard! The MX5000

  • wow wasn't your desk setup in pcpowerplay? I saw one just like it the pc gave it away the most and I like your ferret lol

  • @madybingbong Not that I know of. Unless they posted it without my knowledge.

  • Sounds like you're collecting a bunch of junk. Maybe it's useful to you but cutting that grill, sanding and painting it is NOT worth your time or money. Polished and laser designed grills go for a little more than a dollar. What is your time worth? At least you can have some fun, :)

  • @osityan Very true. It is not really a matter of cost as you said some parts would be cheaper to just buy them. It is more about making something yourself and saving something that could still be useful from going to the landfill.

  • @Pokemart900 What is the make and model of the laptop?.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties it is an hp pavilion dv5-1004nr

  • @Pokemart900 As far as i can tell you have the fastest motherboard board in there that they made for it. It came in 3 different models the dv-5 1000/1002/1004 so I dont see any easy way for you to upgrade it. Sorry about that :-(

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties ok but what about the cpu/graphics card i was thinking about buying an external graphics card but im not sure if it will be able to work on my laptop. any advice?

  • @Pokemart900 They use to make a docking station that had hook ups for extras hard drives and standard video cards but i don't know if they have made them in years. Might be worth spending some time on Google to see if you can find one.

  • very eclectic

  • hey is it possible to upgrade a laptops graphics card?

  • @Pokemart900 Most of them are incorporated on the motherboard so they cant be replaces.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties but if i replaced the motherboard with another one...then would it work?

  • @Pokemart900 Yes it would. If you can find a updated version of your board you would be set.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties how and where would i be able to find another motherboard? also can i switch my processor? its an amd turion x2 ultra 64 bit and i want to put in a phenom if its possible

  • @Pokemart900 The best way to find one is to check the website for the company and see what other cpu and boards that laptop came with then check on eBay you can usually find one that has a bad screen or something and take the board from that one.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties if i told you what motherboard i currently have do you think you could point me in the right direction?

  • @Pokemart900 I could sure try for you.

  • Nice sane video , I,m glad it's not another destroy stuff for the Metals , things can be Reused , when your old & Dying you can then Recycle it back to People , Much Better than the Scrap yard , there are enough little parts left over you could even cash in a little metal when you need quick cash also :) QC

  • @Quaaludedude714 Thank you very much. And some very valid points that you made :-)

  • Be sure to properly discharge the psu before working on it.

The capacitors retain a lethal charge that can kill.

    This is no joke.

    This is no joke.

  • lol, if I get non working PSUs, monitors and other stuff I ALWAYS take capacitors heatsinks, transistors and other shit, now I have sooo many parts I don't even need to go shopping for electronics and i'm 14 lol (srry for my bad english)

  • @TheError404 That is wonderful. The spare parts can come in handy. Not only does it save money but it also says the environment :-)

  • @TheError404 btw if you get any broken game consoles, you should take the parts inside them to use too! Example of what to use them for: Game console + computer hybrids. i have made a wii + laptop hybrid(pretty good one) from a wii and a crappy laptop which doesnt get any wireless internet connection, but thanks to the wii, it gets the wireless :D

  • @TheError404 same here man

  • Excellent video!

  • @MightyNostromo Thank you very much :-)

  • y have 3 compaq vevo ,1 dell latitude d830, a pentium 3 pc,,and 1 ibm aptiva

  • y have 3 compaq vevo ,1 dell latitude d830, a pentium 3 pc,,and 1 ibm aptiva

  • saving parts and all is good thing like me huge collection basement full and garage and the room haha never enough to have parts special for sff pcs or for ur gaming rig

  • @trueblackrosy I could not agree more. Man times having something laying around has saved me when needing parts for a build.

  • You sir are excersizing good E-Waste recovery habbits.

I want to tell you how much I appreciate that.

If there were an award for good E-Waste recovery habbits , I'd give you one.

E-Gold is not something to just play around with , it's serious , it's even spiritual

I know many may laugh but gold CAN be cursed , don't take chance with cursed gold.

I highly recommend having your gold purified by the all mighty.

He has the ultimate gold for you. :-)

  • @azkeyz Thank you very much :-)

  • nice vid

  • @brunoshow08 Thank you.

  • So can I throw it away after watching this video?

  • @PikKirby That would be fine LOL :-)

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties i ALWAYS steal the RAM, HDD, PSU fan, CPU fan, Case fans and CPU =)

  • @JeemOfRunescape That is wonderful you can always reuse them items.

  • I love your videos, you explain things very well and your very creative, as am I. I actually prefer to salvage the 20+4 because I do lots of projects and I'm always looking around for extra 12 gauge and I don't like messing up good molex/sata cables. I never thought about re-using the case as a hard drive cage though... very clever. another thing I would like to add, is the 12volt power connector that you plug in the cord for the wall is also very handy for cool little mods or cases from scratch

  • @MatthewTelles Thank you so much. I love making them :-)

That is a wonderful idea to use the 20+4 pin wires for other projects as well as the power cables.

  • i love love love the idea of reusing things from old computer parts-iv got an xbox 360 lying with the rrod &was wondering about using the parts for something else-any ideas mate?

  • @Bdiddly1 I bet there are still some good usable parts from it. I have seen some people use the case to make a mini pc out of. Also I think the ram can be removed. And if the drive is any good you could reuse that.

If you check around on YouTube you should find a lot of videos about fixing the RROD. I guess they are not that hard to fix if you wanted to get it up and running again.

  • @Bdiddly1 salvage the laser and diode from the drive....you can make a high-powered laser pointer

  • i love broken power supplies: LOTS OF WIRES

  • @Blacktronics I agree. I have made more things out of stripped out power supply's then probable anything else.

  • You should keep the cd drive you never know when it will come in handy maybe even sell it

  • @M9Guy Very good point. A person can never have enough of them. And with them failing all the time it is a good idea to have a spare one on hand.

  • DUDE cut the s4 pin cuse you could use it as scrap wire for like the molex at sata or what ever

  • @Armaangandevia1 Very good point thank you :-)

  • can you give me a spare video card,, i only use my built in huhu

  • @jaygwap What type are you looking for maybe some one has one AGP/PCI/PCIe

  • It's great, here in argentina all of us recicle our pc's because are expensive... We gift our old computers to friends or people that need one... I heard that in many countries, discard all old things and not think about the people who can not have a computer. I like this video

  • @christianpablocobos Thank you very much. :-)

That is a great way to make use of your retired pc. I wish more people did that here. Computers have gotten cheaper so when people get a new one they just throw away the old one.

  • i have an old Toshiba satellite that lost support in like 2005, so i took it out of the recycling, and it turned out the screen was shit, but still functional.

  • @Computist40 Excellent !!!. Another item saved from the land fills :-)

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties yup it sure would be

  • Nice keyboard, what model is it?

  • @hitman7112 Thank you. It is a Logictech 210

  • wow nice gamer pc looks pervect

  • Thank you very much :-)

  • You forgot to add that if somebody opens a Power Supply (even if its not connected to the AC) they run he risk of receiving a shock so strong that it could spot their hearts and die! So much for saving a few parts worth cents. Don't try that at home kids!

  • @latengocomoburro im 12 and i do it never been shock

  • i have that same keyboard MERC stealth

  • I wish it was a Merc. It is a Logitech.

  • I am not sure if it is illegal any where. I know it isnt here. The garbage man will take them but there is a extra charge for it. The landfills get them all the time.

  • It is illegal in most states becuase electronics contain lead, mercury, cadnium and other toxic substances

  • I am not sure what they do with them here. They must recycle them some how but they do take them.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties yes they take them to the recycling center, and they sell the parts and the case online to make money.

  • @Computist40 Great idea I wish they did that here. They just throw them out and crush them.

  • @FUzzyBUnnyBOoties wow that's not cool

  • Thanks

  • I have too much computer parts and im moving !!!

  • Strip the most valuable stuff and put it all in one box. So at least you dont lose it all.

  • my nextdorrnabour went to put out a wiped pc but i kepd it il do a vid on it soon

  • Nothing wrong with that. If I hear about any being tossed out I always ask them if I can have them. No never know what kind of parts you may find.

I look forward to your video.

  • il do it in like a month or somin

  • Take those heatsinks off they might be useful as well

  • That is a great idea. As soon as I read your comment I was thinking that I could cut them up and make memory coolers for my HD4870. I want to put a water block on it. But wanted better cooling for the ram.

  • Great idea and I got a bunch of old heatsinks from old builds/teardowns I want to cut up and use for memory or mosfet coolers.

  • Great video good use of old parts! 5/5

  • Hehe very nice

I have in my old pc 3 Fans from my old PSU´s XD

its a great idea for old hardware ^^

  • Thank you.

Nothing wrong with that. I have cooled many computers using PSU fans.

  • Props my friend...very good idea !

  • Thank you. I know you are thinking just how cheap is this guy LOL :-)

  • yeah good idea on the fan, i have a few power supplies i don't use any more, but could certainly use the fans from em. Also great idea on taking the LED out I also never would have thought of doing that. great vid. 5/5

  • I wouldnt ruin a good power supply for a fan. But if you got a dead one then by all means. Most of the older power supply had 80mm 90mm or 100mm fans. So they can be pretty useful. :-)

  • great vid as allways

  • Thank you Static :-)
