  • Lovely :D

  • Not the Figure-4 in the Side kick def, love it HAPKIDO 5:45

  • Actually ....the whole family they only beat him w/the use of roids and that's a known fact .

  • Sakuraba spanked royce gracie !!

  • BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU IS THE BEST. EVERYONE JUST WANTED TO LET U KNOW

  • @imKyurem KNOW BODY GIVES A FUCK. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW.

ALSO WANTED YOU TO KNOW IT DOESN'T TAKE MUCH INTELLIGENCE TO USE THE CAP LOCKS KEY, SEE, I CAN DO IT TOO. ALSO IT'S YOU KNOW U.

  • this is not hapkido...t's only a few techniques for movies....

  • great video ! very helpful ! thank you !

  • jiu jitsu will kill any hapkido fighter

  • @imKyurem everything depends of the fighters ;)

  • @imKyurem Not going to get into a big ass rant, just gonna reply to this with; Nope. Stop making me lmao

  • @Redgrave89 ok lmao if hapiko is so much better why did royce gracie beast the hell out of every hapkido judo kung fu and all these arts with just jiu jitsu ...? can u answer that and if u youtube bjj vs hapikdo watch the fisrt video grand master gets a spanking from rickson gracie so ty.. bye bye and in UFC what art is the most used BJJ there is not one hapkido guy so YOU STOP MAKING LMAO kid.. first be fighter to know a fighter i been doing martial arts all my life i no U DONT

  • @imKyurem Right well first of all, lawl, mother fucking lawl and I'm still LMAO'ing cuz just by this comment I can tell several things.

A.) You got so pissy when I made a troll, I know BRAZILIAN JUI-JITSU and as a martial art it's good but not great. But you getting so pissy tells me for one it shouts that you are in fact a noob in the martial arts because the fighter makes the difference, not the art considering I've decimated Brazilian jui-jitsu users with simply tai chi techniques

  • @Redgrave89 B.) UFC is mostly Wrestling with Boxing and kick boxing, now a days it's rather rare to see actual mixed martial arts.

C.) The Gracie family invented Brazilian Jui-jitsu so of course they can decimate anyone considering they're the masters of their own art.

D.) I'm really sure you haven't actually done martial arts all your life so yeeeeeeah..... That needs to be said is stop being pissy. If You have faith in your martial art then cool great.

  • @Redgrave89 And finally, If you were any kind of a martial artist you wouldn't respond in such the manner that you did, you're nothing but a fighter and by your attitude, a piss poor one at that.

    trollface.jpg

  • @Redgrave89 Being a UFC fighter doesn't make you a great fighter. If Michael Bisping fought a hapkido or krav maga master outside of a cage he would get destroyed.

  • @CannedKoolaid This I can actually agree upon, there are no arguments here on this end.

  • @Redgrave89 Thank you sir.

  • @CannedKoolaid Not a problem

  • i clicked on this because i thought it said "haduken kick" disappointed but still decent moves

  • i love hapkido I cant wait to get to get a black belt

  • 0:54 side kick to the knee fail.

  • hopkido is worthless against someone that trains a martial art

  • @penguin12010 Even though, I don't practice Hapkido, I would still say it's not worthless. Every martial arts has a unique flow of techniques and it depends on the one who practice to use it efficiently in different situation.

So just shut your fucking trap, go watch some porn and jack your shit out in front of your desktop or something

  • hey!...what did the red belt do to you to piss him off :D 3:37

  • what a load of complete rubbish, virtually nothing there works.Typical of a style that doesnt full contact spar with those techs.

  • @scarred10 Too true.

  • you know at 8:38 can you sweep both legs ? or just the one ?

  • aslo you can EASILY change direction of a side kick half way through, if the guy moves to the side you can still hit him, if you can do a side kick properly

what you want to do is MOVE BACK

unless the person cant kick properly, in which case, he wont be doing side kicks,

in which case this is useless either way

  • @SullyMediaProduction well, moving back is dangerous, because your opponent can move faster, has still space to perform another (maybe spun) kick or a flying knee, for example.

i´d suggest to move out to the side,or just move back a little so you could still catch the kick if the oponnent tries to still hit you by performing a flying side kick..

it sounds a lot easier in theory, though :D

btw i´m not training in hapkido, only muay thai, mma and a little bit of boxing

sry for my bad english,im german ;)

  • @moos14 if you move to the side you can still be hit, you can change the direction of a side kick half way through,

catching the kick is ok if the person isnt that good at kicking, because most people who do that kick properly pull back really fast, or can throw a reverse kick straight after the first side kick,

ive had people catch my kicks before, you can still jump kick/knee, punch them in the face ect ect, because its never a clean catch if you can kick properly

  • @SullyMediaProduction oh and also i think that almost none of the shown defenses would really work, even if performed correctly, because the person performing the side kick would almost never react as shown..

you dont just fall over when somebody catches your leg.. -.-

  • @moos14 exactly

  • when someone grabs your right leg in the air, you can counter with your left leg

like a reverse hook kick or something similar

  • 3rd technique.........would you ever get away with breaking the neck in this day and age when there are other less deadly options available? Assuming the guy would offer his head there for you to take in the first palce. Would really have to be a life or death situation, even then, I doubt this extravagant move would really work in real life.

  • ai biet duoc chi bao cho minh voi nhe !

    Minh rat cam on

  • viet nam co truong nao day vo HAPKIDO khong nhi

  • Please do try to atleast hit him with a kick

  • Taekwon do is a sport is not a martial art where u can use it on the bus or train in case u getting mugged ... have u ever seen a navyseal doing tornado kicks ....no.. they use stealth more like hand to hand combat know as ninjustsu .

  • @black5corpion76 You know very well real martial arts. I agree with you. As you says, compact and small kick is very effective in real fighting. I know kicks of Ninjustu and Navy. They are real and effective. Not only kicks, but almost techniques, compact "waza" is effective. Mr. Hastumi of Togakure Ninjustu (I respect much) says, for movies or show , he shows big "waza", for actual fighting "waza" must be compact.

Hoping your skills up, thanks your comment !!

  • @insideout757757 Everytime i read stupid comments, where do they come from ? USA. And please kid, never argue about things you don't know. I know a few guys who've been practicing taekwondo since they're 6-7, they'd probably kill you in less than 1min, no matter if you are small, huge, smart, a navy seals, a cop or your grandma.

A good taekwondo fighter is like a snake baby.

  • Hi ! Friend ! First of all, Korean do not know difference between high kick and middle(or low)kick. For middle or low, kick by your shin or you will damage your shin by defence. For high(for head) kick, it is OK by foot. It is very basic step and simple. If you interested in how to kick, ask Muay Thai or Karate. Especially Muay Thai is great. If you interested in martial art, you better check China, Japan and Thai. There is no martial art in Korea. Hoping your skills UP,thank you.

  • Comment removed

  • Hapkido is copy from Japnese arts, like Taekwondo. But their level is very low. They do not even know how to kick. Taekwondo also does not know how to kick too.

  • @insideout757757 i wont try to argue about that with you. i am just gonna ask two questions.

if taekwondo doesnt know how to kick which martial art does? if they dont know how to kick can you explain the mistakes they did on the side kick attack for example?

  • misjudge this kick ,and you will break your shin...ive seen it happen

  • the last kick instead of jumping i would do a Thia round house kick

  • @tasu9 If Korean says that they studied from Japanese martial art, it is no problem. But, they says they have original root. It is false. Asian martial art team respect their founder and root, but Korean, no. They knows Japanese culture made money and for American it is not easy to find which is which. Do you eat Sushi cooked by Korean ? Do you eat Indian curry cooked by Nepali ? Thanks your good comment !

  • @namorfilus yep...only for the first two defenses though

  • These movements are only a small part of hapkido, which is a comprehensive system of self-defense and H2H fighting, including strikes, kicks, joint locks, throws and submissions. This video is mostly choreographed and is not representative of real-world HKD. Watch some Steve Sexton; he is an 8th degree BB in HKD and has used it in numerous fights against guns, knives, etc.

  • Don't try these at home

  • can u do hook kick defenses

  • finish him!

  • @Meerul264

Yeah, you've never been to a McDojo before.

Try this crap shown here and you'll get the soul beat out of you.

  • 1:15 I LOLd.

  • any catch/grab is only doable if you're familiar with and can predict your opponents moves. I doubt someone who's trained only in hapkido can pull that off successfully against another fighter.

  • too many choreographed, fancy moves. i would like to see an hapkido sparring/match where half of these moves are used. plz post one if you have it

  • lmfao yeah sure, coz its posible to block a side kick, OK sure lmfao what a load of.....

  • i think it should be mentioned in the video that at 4:20 when you lean your body on the opponents foot, if you lean too far you can pop out the guys knee which would hurt like fuck btw.

  • You Practise this stuff untill its second nature then no doubt it will work on the street same for any martial art imo

  • not everyone in REAL LIFE is a mma fighter..for a common fight you will shut somebody down with this kind of moves, trust me to catch a kick from somebody is easy! after that..BAM

  • Thats a good instructional video - Do you do Hapkido?

  • @TKD344

    Yeah I did!!

  • ridiculous, the first kick was not even aimed at him. This rubbish AGAIN fails to accommodate for 'real life'. IN real life, you don't know whats coming, from where AND there is no stopping of attack just because you may have your opponents foot or arm. watch MMA and see how quick and unpreditable a real fight can be

  • Side step... Umm the defender side-steps. that is pretty important!

  • A lot of criticism here for the techs. in this vid., but I liked it. It was entertaining. It has it's place in the traditional m.a. world, and has to be taken as an encyclopedia of "hapkido side kick defense" moves. Not all moves learned are incorperated into a person's game, and some of it is abstract application to drill a certain fluency into a practicioner's game, and not a literal contentioncy plan.

  • hey gyus, yr technique is fine but in real life fight very seldom starts on those reverse positions u start yr demo. so in that sense what u show is senselessand has very limited fighting power, but sure-very nice to watch. thnx.

  • dumbasses who say "this wont work on the street"...this is still a martial ART...you guys know what ART means?!? if you want to see self-defence that works on street then have a look at Krav Maga videos you idiots before talking bullshit!

    video is awesome, nice techniques!

  • 4:52 lol contact the groin

  • which instructional video is this originally from?

  • A lot of these movements are a total waste of energy and time, they are nice visualy talking. in streets they would be killed or wounded. But I will see them as they are: another way to solve the problems. Thanx for this video.

  • "in the streets" not many people would throw a full side kick either. Just enjoy.

  • nice actors hahahaha

  • their meant to act, not fighting for real in this vid

  • g0d... amazing video... hummm, g0od job dear.. i practise the taekwondo and really, i disc0ver that there are many things which i don't know.. thanks!

  • malakes

  • hapkido is a mix of taekwondo and aikido. look it up.

taekwondo = comes from shotokan karate and taekyon

aikido = from jiu jitsu and various japanese sword schools

  • Tae Kwon Do is actually a relatively modern term dateing to the 50's. TKD was developed from the various "kwans" or schools in Korea. There is pretty much no historical evidence to link it to Tae Kyon - no matter what a WTF/ITF instructor may tell you. Also, Shotokan karate was the basis for only some of the kwans (Chung Do Kwan and Moo Duk Kwan). Shudokan and Shito Ryu were the basis for some of the others.

  • If you really interested in the Korean martial arts please see "Korean Martial Arts Handbook" by Glenn Jones.

It is an excellent and well-researched book for information on the Korean martial arts.

  • que tosco

  • Martial arts come from the analisis of attacks, the result are defenses to their strikes, as the opponents develop better techniques the defender must evolve faster to counter strike and neutralize the attackers strike. So studying martial arts insures that u have a base response in the need of defense but the true effectiveness of your hability as a martial artist relies on your capability for evolving faster and better than your attacker. So practice harder and always learn

  • your wrong sajmeister hapkido is a mix between aikido and jujutsu

  • the grappling side of this martial art is like Aikido and Jujutsu whereas the striking is like Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do!

  • hapkido comes from taekwondo and aikido. aikido comes from jui jitsu. taekwondo comes from shotokan karate and taekyon

  • @guyonfire87 Hapkido is based on Daito ryu Aiki jujutsu. Which Aikido came from. Hapkido's base in Aikijujutsu and blended with native Korean kicking and striking art of Tae Kyon. Not Tae kwon do. Both founders of Aikido and Hapkido studied under the same master Takeda Sensi. So its impossible for Hapkido to have come from Aikido

  • @126STRNGNFIT hmm maby wikipedia lied to me then

    and wow 3 years ago

  • you know why this won't work because the guy isn't even trying to kick him, you can't develop a defense for moves unless you have the moves actually performed on you

  • It's Taekwondo.

  • do not think that kicking and defenses are just limited to taekwondo........

  • Yes the attacking kicks are Tae Kwon Do, but the defensive movements are Hapkido.

  • Hapkido is a mix between taekwondo, tang soo do, tai chi, aikido, jiujitsu and judo!

  • @sajmeister well actually hapkido is the korean version of aikido(japanese) tang soo do was made up in the 1930s and tai chi jiujitsu and judo have nothing to do with it at all

  • @Ch1n4tw Actually not quite. Aikido and hapkido are very different from one another. Aikido sues much larger circles in its motions and more flowing motions, while hapkido is much smaller circles with less flow involved. Hapkido is aiki-jujitsu, which is the art from which aikido is derived.

  • BASURA!!

  • nice vid....if u have time could you please messge me back about this. i have a kickboxing fight coming up , and chances are the person i will be fighting is mainly a karate/tae quando guy. and i wanted to know about defenses to their sidekicks that i can do with gloves on thanx !
