i never use a base coat and my nails are not yell or another colour there are normal

@dudeitsruthie Over time you'll find that your nails are not as white as they used to be. By yellow I don't mean the nail bed, I mean the tips of your nails that're supposed to be white or cream colored.

@dudeitsruthie Depends on the polish too. Pure Ice's lime green color turns your nails a dark yellow color if it is left on for a while. If you change your polish weekly it is probably not going to do that but I leave it on my toes for a month or so at a time and it completely turned them a nasty yellow color where the polish was. That is the only color I have experienced that with too.

if the tape's too sticky you could always try sticking it to your shirt/pants first to take away some of the stickiness...i'm not sure if it'll work for this but it's what i do when i need to tape off sections on any paintings that i do (:

Base coat? That's a clear nail polishes or one of those strengthening nail treatments in the market that serves as a base for your nails.
