Say mission 34 is the hardest.. I say this is the hardest mission of the game. I sat in front of my PS2 and computer for hours looking for a solution and implementing them but the closest I got was like 0.098 seconds behind no matter how hard i try.. the retard GTR's just dont draft me at all when turning and only draft when in straights... they also make me spinout most of the time, FUCK! @MKXiaolinMonks i just did it 2 hours ago. the REAL trick is just to put then game in manual gearing. stay in 5th gear. But onve you're close enough go for 6th gear. Only when you are driving in his slipstream!!!! the others will pass you. if you see they are going to hit you, you just move aside and let them pass. stay in 5th gear! in the end i had 0.7 seconds winst on the second car. so/ STAY 5TH GEAR, move aside, let them pass go behind it, drive to 277 km/h and keep doing that over and over.

@aapenjong the trick is to keep the black Skyline close enough so he can draft you and get out the way when he passes you and draft him. Either the white or red Skyline will be behind you, so let him hit you. Go past the black Skyline again and repeat the process. You have to force the cars to draft you.

when I played this mission the first time, after overtaking all 4 skylines in turn one, they didn't catch up with me (probably because I didn't let them in my slip stream..)

after I watched the video I played it again and let them overtake me and vice versa.. resulting in overtaking the yellow skyline in the last turn and finishing 1.9 seconds ahead of it

FYI, to stop that camera noise, turn off the auto focusing during recording, most cameras have an option to turn off focusing while recording. It will focus on your subject before the video, then when you record it wont make those noises.

as soon as you start the race try bumping the gas button several times until your speedo jumps up and it's a combination of bump drafting and letting them pass you so so you can use their draft

I've also beaten this quite hard mission. In the end, after nothing really worked, I used a simple trick - not fair at all, but an alternative. I've driven right behind another skyline, crashed him softly and forced him in that way a little bit. That's enough to use in front of the last curve in the 3rd lap the inner lane and passed the yellow skyline. I've finished 3 seconds ahead of him. I would have made it right, if the other skylines would have used my the slipstream in the shown way.

Thanks for the help. I got it by .850 after about four or five tries. The main thing seems to be keeping the right side tires on the yellow line so that they can draft up on you better and also getting out of the way successfully when they try to pass. Now back to trying mission 34- need more improvement there but getting to the ten second area consistently now. Much appreciated.

I completed this mission a little differently than you did. I used my own momentum and did NOT slipstream the whole way. What I did was dive all the way down to the inside left curb and hold there the whole way thru each turn and believe it or not it still saved a ton of time and was able to pass the yellow Skyline on the first try of doing it that way. I failed at trying to slipstream lol

The BEST RALLY CAR in my opinion for dirt and snow races is the "Peugot 205 Turbo 16 Evolution II". Soup it up as much as possible, buy all the best possible products, tune transmission properly... get a car wash and change oil to add more horses...set suspension to bound 6, rebound 8, raise the height of the car slightly and stabilizers at 5. It enters for only 2 A-SPEC points.

Watched the video still cant do it though. I seem to be way too far infront of the other cars after the first bend, and they wont catch me all race. I dont get why that is though, only way I can get them to catch me is to come off the gas, which I know isnt a good idea.

Alternatively buy the Action Replay Max, turn off AI, press select and left and none of the other cars will move allowing an easy victory.

There is no skill involved in that though. Kudos to you, nice upload :)

thanks a bunch, man. let me tell you how i beat the mission after seeing this: near the end, the silver skyline got past the black one, and on the straight, I got rear-ended by the red skyline, and drafted off the silver one, getting my car up to 174. When I got close to the yellow skyline, it was a bit far, but close enough to draft off of. Got up to 180mph before passing it and beat the skyline by two seconds

No. Automatic is fine. The test is all about slipstreaming (drafting, whatever you want to call it).You have to use the other 4 cars (not the guy in 1st place)to speed each other up and get closer to the car in 1st place. When you have overtaken each other enough times you will finally get into the slipstream of the lead vehicle.

You are at full speed for the whole race so your gear controls are not an issue.

I can remember this one taking me a while. The key to it is, and what made me realise that it is possible, is that you need to let them slipstream you once your past (to the extent that you're looking behing you on the straights making sure they're behind you), so that way you're always leap-frogging one another. Keep this in mind and it will seem less impossible

Hey!There is a simpler way to do it!Just stick your car on the rear of one of the cars in the group and stay there until you reach the final corner.You will be close enough to overtake the yellow one using the slipstream!It sounds crazy but it works.Plus it takes less talking to explain!!Great job btw.

Thanks man, your amazing. I tried this over and over and I came across this to see how someone else did it. I did basically exactly what your doing but the "right tire on yellow line" and "keeping down in the turns, allowing the slip stream to go up to the other cars" tips will probably help.
