It looks like the Opteka quality is not very good. The image on the borders is blurred. Anyway, it should be compared to the Raynox DCR 181, that's the actual 0,3x fisheye for the Raynox. I guess Raynox would win on quality, though it's also much more pricey...
Nice little video.. I have the Opteka and I love it, I am going to get the Raynox next so I have something with a little less extreme fisheye effect just for those outside shots like you said.. Thanks for posting that!
Yea it depends on what you shoot.. If you shoot skate the Opteka wins. But for skydiving they are both good lenses. For inside video, where i will be part of a formation holding peoples hands etc. The Opteka is the best. But if i fly outside a formation or shoot people that are further away, the raynox is better. BTW Raynox classifies this lens as a "semi-fisheye"
Nice comparison, but it looks like the Opteka has got more distortion in the wider angles? Is this noticable in all films taken with it? And im wondering, since i have the same camera as you, do you have to zoom in to get rid of the sun blockers on the Opteka, in the filming view?
No i don't get any vignetting or sun blocker in the frame..The Opteka is wayyyy wider and has more distortion, but not too much.. There's a skydiving video on the Opteka website shot with the exact same setup.
Why different angles, if factor (x0.3) is identical for both lenses? Opteka more wider has more chromatic distortions on the edge of frame. Sorri my english.
Very nice! The Opteka looks like it gets a wider angle, however it could be that the camera is just a little farther back. Nice lenses both of them! :-)
Agree with @thelostbobby7. Raynox has a better lens

FilmBoyyy96 3 months ago
Also just googled both lenses people understand the Raynox HD-3032 is a 'Semi Fisheye'
niko48341 5 months ago
Raynox smaller but more detail on the edges but the Opteka seems like a fish eye and wide angle

Really great comparsion, I've seen many but this one's the best. I've found the Opteka at a better price than the Raynox

Vet du hvordan man får at "steady shot" / macro på kameraet? Har Opteka, og akkurat samme kamera :)
FrieleG 1 year ago
Aner ikke.. Hvis det finnes en steadyshot funksjon så står det hvordan i manualen!
JumpTeigen 1 year ago
@FrieleG Du skal ikke bruge steadyshot, det kommer til at få fisheyeet til at hoppe frem og tilbage. (undskyld hvis du ikke forstår dansk)
