that fish isnt over 22 lbs its more like 17 but anyways stripers get over 60 in the bay i catch em over 50 every year in san pablo bay system from petaluma river up in down town petaluma out to pumphouse china cove in san pablo bay up the sonoma crek mouth by 37 by the rock wall up the delta every where they get over 50 every year this fish is nice fish for bank fishermen that dont know what their doing though but if these saw a 55 60 lb striper theyd rape it cause it so pretty

Ok, so the fish weigh 27 lbs and its 39 1/2 inch. Its the biggest fish ever caught off the bank that year, at san pablo bay and we had nobody else came and compete. If anybody like to talk mess, meet us at this spot n show yur skills, we'll be there weekend. At least ya enjoyed the video, right?

i like to carry a stringer and a long rope i tie the stringer to the rope and then my fish will still be alive in case i want to release them. i never string them to the gills i usually poke a hole on its lower mouth and they always live.

I'm from the same area, and yes, to catch one much bigger than 24 inches is not too common (as you said, rare) which is why we have to practice catch and release of the bigger fish. If not, then it will become more rare and we will be stuck pulling in only guppies!
