  • rip Blake Landyn.

  • his website is blakebrasher-dot-org just watching it and knowing a couple of velvet underground songs makes most of the song clear. in his twitter description it said that he worked as a diver, hence "stays underwater for the most part". it's as if she compared his interest for fishes with his interest for humans (and particularly herself) and the warmth around him.. Which he seemed to ignore, because "his heart was in Alaska".

  • I get it. Found another Lou Reed reference. The Alaska theme is from his album Berlin. Caroline's friends call her Alaska when she takes speed.

  • The Blake in question was on the cover of A Is For Accident and used to be a living statue.

  • I love this song.

  • amazing song (:

  • What did Amanda say this song was about?

I love it, she is so beautiful and so are her songs and ideas.

  • It's about Global Warming.

And Blake is one of her friends. I met him once...

  • you met blake ? but blake says blake? :O

  • Well, he talked to me on youtube and linked me to his website. He's the living statue on the cover of A is for Accident.

  • It's also a refrance to the Velvet Underground song "Stephanie Says"

  • Yeah ! I remember reading Amanda say something like " this is where I saw how many Velvet Underground references I could make " or something like that haha

  • @KichenPixie and "Caroline Says"

  • this is so wierd.....i just found out this song is about my friend blake...seems a little cruel of amanda tho...he is a beautiful person who loves robots and the velvet underground

  • What are you smoking and where can I get it?

  • LOLLLLLLlll

  • does this song remind ANYONE of the polar express for some reason 0.0

  • I don't understand this song at all, but I love it. Nor do i understand in Stephanie says.

By the way, is it just me or does it sound like she was crying a lot?

  • The first time I heard this song it was live, and I cried. Right there.

  • Same here. This is probably the most amazing song I've ever heard.

  • Fuck.. this is amazing

  • For whatever reason, this song reminds me of Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

  • What is with the girl holding the umbrella?

  • She's a fan who came on the stage to make the show more interesting.

  • Oh. Is that it? I thought it might have been raining on stage.

  • Amanda would want to get her bra wet if it were raining.

  • This song...makes me cry..."it's still cold in Alaska..." I LUBBS it, I do!! <333

  • Does anyone know if this is going on her solo album??

  • Yes it is <3

  • Mahhhhhhh!!!! I <3 Blake Says!!!! the "It's still cold in Alaska" part makes me shiver...

  • I absolutely love this song.

    It's gorgeous, and the lyrics

    are amazing.

    Wow.

    xx

  • so much different then the origional. not in the music or in the lyrics so much, but just the way she performs it. really beautiful. It's crazy not to hear her on the kurzweil, but this yamaha isnt too bad :P different

  • Oh wow, I think I was there that night!

  • i just love this song. its one of amanda's tunes you don't get to hear very often. I just wish someone would bring sandys song back.

  • nice song, pretty

  • that certainly is a different keyboard isn't it?

  • yes, she didn't have the kurzweil that night, which happily is a rare occurrence. we all love the kurzweil so much more...

  • it still sounds really cool, different but nice

  • i haven't heard this song in so long. thank you for posting this.
