  • They;re usto playing without a time limit i think. Or not being aware of one very much.

    I think

and this would seem to affect them a bit here, Never the less they;'re playing loud, thus kicking ass.

  • nice. Im going to see them tomorrow at the First Unitarian Church in Philly. They'll be playing on stage there as well and that upset me a bit but seeing this reassured me that it will still be awesome.

  • Yeah, that's right. On a stage. I've seen them about 5 times and this was my favourite show by them as I could actually see them. It's all well and good not playing on a stage but it's not much fun for anyone who isn't right in the middle of the pit. I'm sure they will re.turn to playing off stage but probably just wasn't feasible at such a big festival. Either way, they rocked

  • on a.....stage?

  • Do you see the size of that crowd? As amazing as lightning bolt is and as powerful, it is hard to compete with a crowd that size. They are my favorite band ever, so it is nice to see them at least switch it up for once. It gives the band some variety as well, which is always great. Stage or no stage, Lightning bolt will be better than your favorite bands regardless.

  • They're my favorite band also. But partly because they don't make themselves inaccessible. The whole point of a stage thats ten feet off of the ground is inaccessibility.

There's so much trust LB have had in their audiences for so long, and it's been a really profound and poignant thing to be a part of. It must have been incredibly hard to maintain that trust with the energy that they produce, but I think it's a very important trust if they value the relationship they have with their audience.

  • giv em a break you swobs they know how to kick a bit of ass.

  • brian!!!!!this have no sense!!!!!well have sense but sucks,go back to the floor!!!

  • so true,and sad

  • because there on a stage?! Look at the size of that crowd,i think they have to play on a stage for once, even if its weird as all hell

  • Also, big shows like that, wont allow bands to play the floor for safety reasons, nothing to do with selling out, pretty sure its impossible for lightning bolt to sellout, far too creative minds for that

  • shit was so cash
