  • No, NEVER spit on veterans.

  • Please don't spit on veterans.

  • Did that fat slob in the suit spit at a veteran at 0:30? What a disgrace. Is this what those who bravely served in uniform get from their elected officials? Sadly, I don't think it has changed much today. Great movie, by the way.

  • I love my country America too. I do but I despise my government. Ron Kovic is correct to have said that the government is corrupted full of thieves, rapists, and robbers. I also say that those in government are fucking vipers as well as fucking hypocrites and brainwashers. If people don't acknowledge the truth since Ron's mother doesn't, than those people to me are stupid and it saddens me.

  • @Marguerite21 America is an awesome country, indeed, but our government is as corrupt as the sky is blue. the founding fathers would've rebeled from it a thousand times over.

  • @miegaha Yeah that true.

  • This is what S.O.P.A will do if they win.

  • I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY,CRUSE DID NOT WIN AN AWARD FOR THIS FLIM!

  • Dont hate on us because we try to help everyone else to the freedom we have found ourselves yes we are not perfect and our government may be shit but we are trying to give the world to what we have and you cannot hate on freedom it's fucking awesome!

  • Nixon was a SCUMBAG; Harry Truman knew it; it's too bad Nixon was ever elected. We need a total turnaround in this country; real leaders with integrity, strong military, the ideals of the USA and what it was founded on are good, and we need to return to being a solid, productive country, with excellent education & opportunity for people to live free.

  • what a nice horrible the police treated a group of people who served there country.i think its good that these fucking nixon clowns got there asses handed to them by these protesters.

  • @newyork1969ful it's our way or the highway with hardliners

  • the poor fight the war.

  • Iraq was wrong too. Started by George Bush

  • @88Willhur No, it was started by Saddam Hussein when he invaded Kuwait in 1990. Ended in a ceasefire, Saddam broke it then ground war resumed in 2003.

  • why would the guy in dark green moving ronnie's wheelchair help that guy in the suit arrest ronnie? why didn't he push him away or fight with him or punch him? I don't understand that. and why didn't oliver stone show ronnie's speech at the convention at the end?

  • @TruthandPassion Because he was an undercover cop. If you look at 1:23. He was holding his badge up to ID himself to the RNC security. As for the speech I do not know. IN Real life however Ron Kovic's arrest occured in LA California. He was not arrested in Miami

  • people who plan the war never intended to go to fight them. please think twice join the navy/army, don´t waste your precious life for stupid words

  • You people even support the troops went to fight after the government admitted they lied? They are mercenaries in my eyes.

  • you want real change? then vote for Ron Paul

  • This is what we need in this country today, vets to stand up and start a revolution to end this bull shit in the middle east and shuould protest hard at both the Dem and Repub conventions because they both support the shit over there.

  • oh and by the way... Imeperium Romanum's parlament was based on the rule: "from the people, for the people" now it's from the people, for ourselves policy...

  • In my opinion, support the GI's in all ways ya can... well I'm from the eastern Europe... and i can promise ya all that it's the goverment thats bullshit'n us all the time... like these guys... "fightingn commies half a f*** globe out?" this is bullshit.... I hate the reds, but I've would never send half of the country to fight a war that can't be won... and by the way to hell with nixon :D

  • What were they expecting? The same thing would happen to a tea party if they protested inside a democratic convention.

  • @MountDoomPictures The Tea Baggers dont have the balls to pull off what thoughs brave vets did at the Repub convention in '72. By the way, the Tea Baggers support the status quo which includes the illegal wars in the middle east.

  • Even *if* the government is fucked up, I love the troops, and I'll always support them.

  • 2:39 such hypocrisy

  • Vietnam was even more prove that God can not exist.

  • @timpi3000 I disagree. It's more proof of the destruction that's destined to occur when we put our faith and trust in the decisions of demigod men. It's what happens when we make the political and economic institutions in this country/world bigger than we can handle, and then proceed to hate all others who are different. You think those people chanting "4 more years" were there for God? They were there to worship Nixon because they believed in him and his words more than they did God.

  • Doctor Cox?

  • the government d-bags tried to arrest a man who fought for his country honorably.....AND THEY GOT THEIR ASS WHOOPED BY A BAND OF VETERANS!

  • Thank you Gunner21101! This is a great movie and to me its a tear jerker! I am the son of immigrant parents! I love this country and wouldn't change that for anything! I disagree with most politicians but that will never make me turn my back on the US! I am infuriated when I hear people bad mouthing this country! They should get the fuck outta here! Piece of shit mother fuckers!!!

  • Shows how a group of motivated Veterans, will band together, no matter the situation...

  • the peoples of the united states are ok... the government of the united states.. fuck you.

  • i love the part where the other soldiers carry him back from the police, awesome moment

  • great movie

  • Fucking Government Scum! America seriously missed out on a Revolution during the Seventies.

  • Spitting on the soldiers is worse than burning the flag.

  • in the list of great american film this film goes very unheralded. i think it's deserving of being placed on afi's top 100 films of american cinema. i've been a critic and film lover for a long time and i keep coming back to this movie. when i look at it start to finish and back to front i really can't poke any holes in it. born on the 4th of july tells a tragic and essential american story that makes up our collective identity as a nation that has not been touched on before or since.

  • Tom Cruise is just amazing in this film, acting doesn't get better than this

  • There could be 150 Ron's every week and the sheople would still go to war after a lie convinces them to kill for it.

When does the real fight begin and the liars fights end, When a politicians are made to fight the wars they start.

  • Love this country. I hate the government.

  • No wonder I think Tom Cruise is one of the best actors ever born...this movie proves that...what a performance, wow...

  • Lol its Newman!

  • All our governments are run by the same people, the Rothchild dynasty has had a majority stake in every central bank for over 100 years. Remember that.

  • These Republican militants had the look of a bunch of silver spoon mother****ers, hence these bastards never had to put their lives on the line to see and understand what kind of shit was happening in Vietnam.

Respect to the veterans who speak out when things go wrong, for the sake of history not to repeat itself if possible.

  • @Beginstheman Do you realize this war was waged under a Democrat and the republican ended this war? Please learn some history. Thank you

  • in real life ron kovic did came ok back from vietnam then he went AGAIN then he got paralyzed, something you dont see in this movie...

  • @charliebell01 In the movie he states that he was on his second tour. It happened before they went into the first village.

  • @KILOKLIX really? oh my bad then, great movie tho

  • Fucking Chicken Hawk republicans

  • going to war is not serving the country, it's serving either the president or the companies, they make us fight for their interests. It's really sad they can manipulate us with that idea of patriotism

  • great movie!i think it couldve been better though.did anyone recognize the actors in this last scene???

  • @majesticrecords Dr. Cox from scrubs?

  • @majesticrecords yep john c. mcginley and wayne knight lol!

  • SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! (unless they come back after living the bitter reality of war, trying to communicate with me that the hell they lived was for nothing. Then they're just traitors.)

  • @magog1138

I dont get what you're saying..or are you being ironical?

  • Nam was a dam shame the goverment tricked them an feed men bullshit and lies an they still doing today with 9/11 and I bet my life there more to come war it's all about money and power for the goverment were jus pawns like on a chess board

  • republicans are such idiots. couldn't they see he loved his country. i dont understand how they could be so stupid.

  • @toby099 "republicans are such idiots." Yeah, especially the republican called Lyndon B. Johnson....

  • @toby099 they're not stupid ... they're just evil

  • Maybe the war was wrong but don't spit on the soldiers who fought in it.

  • @Fenix471

Indeed I treat every Ex-Nazi very nicely ^__^

  • @Fenix471 Exactly, no matter what don't disrespect the soldiers...no matter what...after all the answered the call and server their country...

  • @Fenix471

It's ironic, but the man who spat on Kovic supported the war, he called Kovic a traitor. Kovic is many things, but traitor is not one of them!!

  • @Fenix471 depends which soldier it is

  • @Fenix471 Exactly it isn't there fault they were lied to by politicians and the media.

  • @Fenix471 I Agree.

  • God bless the generation who had to deal with that war and RIP to our fallen brothers, gone but not forgotten!

  • A whole generation of youth destroyed by government bullshit. God Bless those who died in Nam and those who served in Nam, Both sides, and god forgive us for the Innocent civillians who were Killed.

  • Rush Limbaugh at 0:32

  • perfect movie

  • this is hard to watch a bunch of people that sent them over there and dont want them back bucase itmakes them wroung god bless amrica please kill those that profit off the death of our youth and make useless wars.

  • @peggy170 "...please kill those..." You're a really peace-loving person!

  • Gunner thankyou for that

  • The real question is (and im not being harsh) if ron wasnt paralized, would he still be doing what hes doing now

  • @Nivanarocks as you see there are numerous veterans not paralized who protest the war, so we can assume he would.

  • @tf2cheats Yeah but when u look at it even when he was paralized he was all into this american patriot thing and hated people who burned down the flag. so do you realy think he would have changed

  • @Nivanarocks Well since he was still somewhat gung-ho for a while after his paralysis like you mentioned then perhaps being paralyzed didn't have *that* much to do with it.

  • @championofcathay Yeah well am jus sayin I still agree with what hes done and stuff

  • @Nivanarocks

    dumbass

  • @Nivanarocks it took time for him to come to the realization of that. he was paralyzed, but was obviously not aware of the situation going on in the US while he was on his tour duty. Plus, he came to grips with the reality that the country did not understand the struggles these veterans went through; physical injuries as well as psychological injuries. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about war, but that doesn't mean that anti-war is anti-patriotic

  • @Nivanarocks probably not. life is always uncertain.

  • I was in nam in 1972 people only see whats in the news and in movies! what i saw and smelled was horrific! you had to be there if not be glad.thank god i made it home alive!! great movie wanted to see for years.thanks for loading it.

  • @whfarm62 Hello, i wondered if you could share your story to us. This movie made me wonder about what every single veteran thought of the war before/during/after .

  • True heros, all of them. No one cares about the Military or the Police until the enemy is at the gates.

  • @Lawman117 Enemy was at the gates in 60's and 70's?

  • @Brikjard Depends on who the enemy is at the time.
