  • I love the spv355. I usually run it through a lengthy signal chain, plus I use the effects loop (internal). It's a beautiful old synth.

  • Gr 50.

  • Could you post a video with the brass and bass sounds ? And orchestra hits. Its almost impossible to find sth about this synth.Thanks.

  • you mean sounds from Gr-50 or Spv-355?

  • do you know if theres way to reset the gr 50 to factory reset ?

  • I have a GR-50 that I picked up back in 97. Do you know what year the Roland GR-50 came out? Do you know where I could get mine serviced? It still works, but it's been screwing up lately. The "Bowed Strings" patch is a blast to play some Metheny stuff to. Closest sound to his synth on tunes like, Extradition, Are You Going With Me. Thanks for the vid, and please let me know if you know more about the history of it as well as the service question. Thanks, JV

  • It come out in 1988! But i can't help with the service - i live in Russia...

  • Thank you!

  • you need get a cv to midi converter. The SPV-355 is a great sounding synth when it isn't doing its pitch to volt thing. BTW the SPV-355 can be used as a pitch to volt converter, and has the ability to control external synths with CV / Gate inputs. But cool video! Its about time someone posted this synth.

  • But i can play on it right from the guitar - that's give me some extra ability (vibrato, perfect controlled pitch bend)
