I too much preferred the first cast as my mom (stage name Bond Gideon) was on the show as Lt Claire Reid . Big executive egos was the reason for the cast changes and they killed a pretty funny show

Great tv show despite the cast changes; and I just love those beautiful women in their white nurse uniforms !!! Thanks for posting.

It was truly bizarre that ABC thought getting rid of all of the cast from Season 1 with a few exceptions, would get new viewers, especially when all the loyal old viewers now didn't have any reason to stick around (even if Melinda Naud was still there).

Did the network really think that replacing most, if not all, of the first season cast would make the show better? I much preferred the original cast. They should have put their efforts into finding better writers.

I think I like the original theme better. This one sounds almost like those fake themes they put on public domain dvds of "Beverly Hillbillies" and "Bonanza" to avoid paying royalties.

Was Jim Varney the only cast member to be in both seasons?

Richard Brestoff, Melinda Naud, and Jim Varney. Quite interesting how Jim Varney was on both seasons and they didn't include him in the intro either season.

@garrisonskunk No. Melinda Naud appeared in both seasons as well. I don't understand why the executive producers had to change things before the second season. The first season was better.

Randolph Mantooth is greatest! He was so wonderful as the goofy Lt. Bender.Great performance and a great show.
