i was born shia and if you put your ta'asob away and read history you will see that Omar was one of the greatest leaders of Islam who defeated Persia and Rome to uplift Islam from a tribal religion to a global one. Of course as an Iranian I don't really appreciate the fact that Persia was defeated by a much smaller and ill-equipped army so in turn my ancestors made up a new religion (Shia) only to bash Omar and have everybody believe it too!
