Hard to say 100% without Video but hitting fat can be caused by one of 3 things, Weight location, handle location & Controling radius of the swing. one of these areas will be lacking. 1 & 2 are easy go hit some with weight 70% on lead foot and make sure handle is pointing at lead hip the radius issue may require time with an instructor or use my Online Coaching facility I can email details of this to you.
Great video !!! Quick question why am I hitting shots so fat ?? How can I shallow out the down swing. Could my back swing be to steep?? Thanks for your time ill continue to follow your videos!!
what I ment was that in the traditional swing the ball position is in the midle of the stace with a midle iron 6-7-8--. but in the S&T videos the ball is much more forvard near the left foot and the upper body over the ball. is the bottom of the S&T swing always under the sternum.
@steinisterki2 the low point tends to be where the weight is located (other things do come into play also but this is key) due to weight moving less "off" during S&T ball doesnt need to bee as far back for further insight see my low poiint control video .
@steinisterki2 The ball position will (as with any method/model) depend on the type of shot required and the lie the player has, as a base line id go 1" back of what would be "traditionaly" prescribed initially just to assist in swinging out at nthe ball. once a push draw is consistent then play around with the ball position to give shot variation. I will put a video together along these lines over the coming months. Thanks for the feedback.
Excellent! The best tip was the one about the hips moving forward laterally upon the downswing, then rotating. Thanks. I'll give it a try. I've battleled with fat shots my whole life.
Excellent video - many thanks :-) I particularly found drill #7 and the description of the downswing sequence very useful, especially combined with the comment in drill #1 (isolation of key aspects) regarding the left hip movement and the need to keep the upper centre from moving forward.
