@Haz20001 And I bet it hasn't been seen in Adelaide again since, but they've probably put on Madame Butterfly countless times since!! Adelaide needs more Shostakovich, It's too conservative!

Known about this opera for decades. First time seeing it. Too bad Stalin did not like it, it is a masterpeice of Mr. Shostakovich, my faviote Russian composer. alexandr D'Maddalena
