This song is just so Beautiful!!! Paul Basler is the MAN!!!! I first learned of this song back in 2009 at the GMEA All-College Choir Conference with Lynn Gaskle as our Clinician. She had us to sing this song, but before we sang it, she gave her testimony about how this psalm really helped her in time of sickness. Once she told us that, we all had a deeper meaning of this song when we performed it! THE LORD IS SURELY MY SHEPHERD!!!!!
@anointed1choirmaster Wow, small world. Dr. Gackle is the director of Gulf Coast Youth hoirs, based here in Tampa, FL. I sang in Le Petit Choeur from 2004-2005 when Dr. Gackle was diagnosed with cancer. She told us about it one night after rehearsal. We sang a version of Psalm 23 that year, and it was so beautiful that I still cry just thinking of it!
@anointed1choirmaster I was also at the 2009 GMEA All-College Choir Conference. My gosh, Dr. Gackle truly testified that night. It took all my strength not to cry, but I lost it. Every time I read Psalm 23, I think back on that night she gave her testimony. During the performance, it literally touched my heart on a totally different level that I had never felt before. Praise God!!
Thank you for your wonderful performance!!!!!!

@dancerfairygirl I think that after her testimony that night, this piece became our favorite piece of all for that year.
