  • This series started being broadcast on Israeli TV in 1980 or the year after... watched it religiously for 2 seasons at least. To me this theme song still kicks a**!

  • can somebody please help me build this ship. I promise I'll make you deputy captain!

  • After school every day.

  • I remember seeing this TV series back around 1979-1980 when it was televised on WVII-TV, the ABC affiliate station in Bangor, ME.

  • Hurry StarForce, there is only 1 day left until you re-air! Everyone stay tuned on SyFy this Friday!

  • This is one of my favorite cartoons and favorite theme songs ever. Thank you so much for uploading this

  • one of these days, we r going to build this ship, whoses on board with me?

  • @Musicbychuckjvl - The ship has already been built and destroyed. The battleship Yamato, the largest battleship ever built, sits in two pieces on the bottom of the South China Sea under 1,120 feet of water after suffering at least 11 torpedo and 8 bomb hits on April 6, 1945 (and possibly two other torpedo hits). Thank the mighty U.S. Navy for that!

  • the music at the intro is amazing, it was fitting for the argo, those trumpets blasting and the bass drum shaking, I love the intro

  • My favorite part is when it goes ...Danger lurking everywhere, but we know we have to dare evil men with evil schemes they can't destroy all our dreams...

  • How manly is this?

Chuck Norris shed tears upon hearing this the first time.

    That's how manly it is.

  • This is great! The closing credits on the DVDs do not show the original US broadcast credits for Claster Television and Sunwagon Productions. This is really a step back in time!

  • Didn't they count down the number of days till they reached earth at the end of the episode?

  • @lynchmob72 Yes, they did. "There are now XXX days left"

  • Hahaha! Spacca! speravo utilizzassero il cannone ad onde moventi in ogni puntata! bellissimo cartone, sigla poderosa, anche se gli americani hanno taroccato un paio di cose..

  • i like the wavemosongun

  • Quanto è forte il cannone ad onde moventi?? è l'arma più forte dei cartoni, anche più forte del cannone del SDF1 di macross o robotech come la conosciamo noi.... o no?

  • piu forte di chuck norris anche?

  • I used to watch this after school. I love that battleship, wave motion gun and that theme song! Danger lurking everywhere but, we know we've got to dare Evil men with evil schemes They can't destroy all our dreams... Thru all the fire and the smoke we will never give up hope if we can win the earth will survive we'll keep peace alive WITH OUR STAR BLAZERS!!!! Brings tears of joy to my eyes.
  • @mikeweb92576 Same here, brother. Same here. I saw the trailer for the new live action movie (out in Japan today) and I cried when I saw a live-action Wave Motion Gun fire.

  • @mikeweb92576 Now let's remember this song everytime on Sept.11. I do

  • Ma c' è arrivato i ltaroccamento americano quindi? °_O

  • Sono commosso. la risento dopo anni , adesso che so meglio l'inglese capisco che quelle parole avevano un senso !!! wow !!

  • I finally figured out that one verse! It's "We must make the fighting cease / So Mother Earth will be at peace!". DUH!

But then again, how often does the average American use the word "cease"?

  • I love "Star Blazers/Space Cruiser Yamato!"

  • My favorite morning cartoon in Hawai'i!

  • I like it, too

  • Strangely, I like the ending theme better than the opening. The opening is still the #2 best theme in my opinion, by the way.

  • Best theme song for an americanized dub for anime!

Long live Yamato! Long Live Star Blazers!

  • grande sigla
