This is one of the coolest MSX games IMO :). Did anyone ever translate it? I got something of the story from the SMS/GG version video, but I doubt that was complete.
The MSX2 version indeed has a slightly more elaborate story.
The whole "returning to the lab, getting attacked by the creature and chasing the creature into the sewer" thing was left out in the SMS and GG versions.
Also, they chose to merge worlds instead of keeping the original 8.
At last, the fight with Knavik only included Lucia in the SMS & GG versions, rather than controlling both sisters.
Sadly, the MSX2 version has not been translated (yet).
The in-game conversations using talk mode aren't THAT interesting though.
What I can tell you from my own limited knowledge of Japanese, is that when you bump into monsters, they usually say things like "growl!" or "out of my way!".
Boss creature conversations mostly imply:
"Who are you?"
"I am such-and-such (and I'll attack you now)!"
Some conversations are slightly longer when playing in talk mode.
When having beaten a world, Lucia will say "Lucky!" or "I won!".
Yeah, those I can read :). The story is a little too much for my limited Japanese though. And also the talk-mode text appears a little too fast for me to read without pause button.
cool i had no idea there was such a good looking version of this game out there ^^ thanx for the up ^^

does the running work like on the sms or is it a double tap thing?
Alianger 3 years ago
Yes, it works with a double tap.
I wonder why they didn't incorporate that in the SMS version.
Seems not too hard to program or anything.
