  • 80s great one. So fun to dance to either on a dance floor or just dancing around my den by myself. It has a wonderful beat to it. I just love every darned thing about. If you're in the care when this comes on you will find yourself swaying a bit and deffinitely tapping out the beat on the steering wheel. I really loved this; it just grabbed. Great song, great post.

  • Beautiful!

  • I remember listening to this song in 1983 when my father was stationed at Plattsburgh AFB in New York. We lived so close to Montreal, QC that we could get a strong Montreal station called CKMF which played great music. The dj's spoke in French but the music was mostly American. Strange but I remember they played a slightly different version of this song. Does anyone know about that? Ah, what memories! Thank God for YouTube!

  • @pawsum1 This was the Club (extended) edition. What you heard was the shorter radio edition. Its also on youtube.

  • I rem this well, luckily in the UK we got to hear toons like this,in da clubs, but I so wish I lived in the USA back in da 80s, the goofy and chipmunk type of Disco/Funk at the time was comical, but brilliant. Im still living through the 80s wearing da clothes and listening to this type of Jam.

  • Luv it! luv it!they don't make them like this anymore. These 80's hits were fantastic and bring back memories.

  • was this only a single? or was this ever part of an album? and if so what was name of the album?

  • @46alfred1

As far as i'm aware, Cheri released two albums - 'Murphy's Law' in 1982, and 'Love Stew' in 1983. Someone more informed than me stated that the 'Murphy's Law' album was re-recorded for the Canadian market, so there's actually two different sounding versions of the album around.

  • @BioBiro Where is my favorite version of this song? It was out here for a few months. It was titled "Murphys Law and was sung by "the Murphys"

Remember at the end of the song he said "I've got three wives that don't nobody know about. A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do. The repo man came and took down the wallpaper off the wall, took the wig off his girlfriends head and even tried to take me?" It had the chipmunk voice, but a Black man was singing."

  • @JaySkulk

Yes - it does seem to have dissapeared. Hope it wasn't copyright isues.

  • There are actually three facets to Murphy's law:

    1) Anything that can go wrong, will.

    2) Anything that can go wrong will AT THE WRONG TIME!

    3) Anything that is planned will cost more, and take longer.

  • Really funny song. We used to play this back in the day because our club owner bought the pitch modulator. It was a blast to sing into the mics and hear your voice come out like Alvin.
