Godawful! Like goading a shy drunk into singing something (anything) when three quarters of the party are either looking for their coats or have already stumbled out the front door.
@venuseve9 No quarrel with your video work. You are probably a Radiohead fan. I am definitely not. The fact that they continually mangle iconic Neil Young songs with the goofy enthusiasm of a third rate bar band is no way your fault. You seem to be a nice person.
@hugosalarm You clearly have not listened carefully enough to Radiohead, or, you're a complete dolt. Some of the most complicated and progressive music being made today.
@brandonjohnston "Complication" is rarely a good thing when we're talking about musicians with, compared to those in several other musical genres, exhibit limited prowess. Too many of us like to confuse the term "progressive" with caterwauling bullshit overlaying meandering synthesized muck. Wonder no more about the sorry state of today's music. Radiohead defines it with their wanton, unsolicited destruction of Neil Young, which in a more perfect world, would be an indictable offense.
@hugosalarm I thought it was beautiful, bro, I'm a huge Neil Young fan and cats like you have always said he couldn't sing either , he wears comments from guys like you (who don't get it) as a badge of honor, I suspect the Radio Head guys do too
@sancerre10 How do you deduce from my comments that I'm not a Neil Young fan? I've been a fan since I first heard "On The Way Home". All the more reason then for my "critique" of the insipid "Radio Head", the most pretentious band of the last 15 years, and from what I can glean, not even Neil himself thinks much of them. These are barren times in music. Award a "badge of honor" for marrying incoherent warblings to boring electronica, (Radio Head, sic)? Makes perfect sense to me.
@hugosalarm Touche, dude. I am totally ignorant to Radio Head (sic) this is the first I've heard them. I was so knocked out that they even knew a Neil Young tune that I was very open too his slightly off pitch but heart felt rendering of a song I have been listening to since it came out, when I was 7 years old (42 years ago!). But listening to a couple of their originals...I feel you. Glad they r using their celebrity to hip "young" folks to Neil.
@sancerre10 In addition I just heard their rendering of Cinnamon Girl and that was a hurtin thing. But not knowing any of their music or their other attempts at Neil's work I dug Tell Me Why, aside from the bootleg background vox. No disrespect bro.
@sancerre10 You have a way with words and the points you make are sincere. Personally, I hope the young folks get turned on to Neil via Pearl Jam though, or in the case of the "sacred" Tell Me Why", someone like Norah Jones or Gillian Welch, then move on to Ryan Adams, "today's" Neil Young, (and I hope I'm not sounding irreverent for saying that). Great talkin' to a Neil fan. Stay happy listening to a wealth of music which we never tire of and have a good day.
@hugosalarm When I was 8 years old I wrote a poem for Neil and read it to my second grade class: "Neil is real, he's like a meal, he's not a heel...he's real" lol. I sh#t you not. I will look to you for the contemporary keepers of the flame, I've been a deep blues musician for most of my life and since the "barren times" arrived I've been a bit out of touch, good lookin out. -Matthew skoller
@sancerre10 Here's to good poetry and the blues. You may be able to overlook contemporary keepers of the flame for awhile. Word has it that Neil and Crazy Horse are releasing 2 new albums this year! Recommend you search Ryan Adams and The Cardinals playing "Let It Ride" on David Letterman show. If you like that search same artist, acoustic version "Stars Go Blue" and album version of "La Cienaga Just Smiled." To me the best American singer/songwriter in the last 40 years! Take it easy, Matt.
@hugosalarm Will do my homework on above artists, finishing a 5 nighter at the Half Note in Athens, Greece tonight but will search out Mr. Adams when I get stateside thanks for the ref.. There is a great singer/songwriter in NYC. Pretty obscure but really good chops, named Adam Levy. Used to play guitar for Nora Jones and went the singer/songwriter route. Check out his cd "Washing Day"--lovely. Really accomplished guitar man as well. Peace MS
@sancerre10 Wow, good luck on your tour over there, Matt. The Greeks are pretty politically charged up at the moment so your audiences must be pretty "enthusiastic". Will look out for Adam Levy as well. Take care, mate.
@Threepwoodist Yeah i was at this show. I want this close though. I wouldve have been pissed for paying 100+ just to hear this asshole singing along the whole time. I'm down for singing along at concerts too, but NEVER at a Radiohead show.
I wish people would stfu in all aspects at shows

@venuseve9 Sorry if was unclear. I was trying to draw an analogy between what I described and the embarrassing performance you captured on video.

@hugosalarm While I admit my video work was not superior, I felt it was adequate enough to post on youtube.

I love how when they originally made a medley of the two songs, it was a mistake. Now it's done regularly.
