It look sooo tasty! And I lake your voice! :D Can I use lemon instead of milk for the glaze? And no almonds at all? or nuts? or anything like that? ¬¬ Just the cherries! :D
For those of you who want to use the term "coffee cake" literally rather than in it's traditional fashion, I have one request. Don't ever serve me any finger sandwiches.
can you add a cheese filling in with the fruit? (i am thinking like entemanns cheese danish) or crumbs to the top? my coffee cake recipe has crumbs, i just wanted to add fruit between the cake & crumbs.
Can you bake a regular cake according to the directions on the box and simply add fruit topping on top? Or does this work only with this kind of coffee cake?
@DailyBread2007 Hi- I double-checked with our Kraft Kitchen Experts-if you use a traditional box mix, we recommend waiting until the cake is cooked and cooled to add fruit topping. This recipe is specifically designed to incorporate the fruit into the baking process.
Does the sour cream affect the taste of sugar in the cake? I'm gonna try apples or peaches yumm and add some of the juice of the fruit to to the icing
@shesobreezy The sour cream will mostly affect the final texture of the cake and slightly affect the final flavor. We don't recommend omiting it from the recipe.
@xxJLuongxx The term "coffee cake" in this recipe doesn't refer to a cake made with coffee but to a type of cake that's usually served with coffee. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks!
@babygizmoe Regular granulated sugar cannot be substituted for the powdered sugar since it doesn’t have the texture and consistency needed to create a glaze. Thanks!
@pinanogrl91 ya i realized it now, but still doesnt make much sense to me. for example, chocolate cake, its not a cake that you eat with chocolate, but its a chocolate flavored cake. so what would you call a cake thats coffee flavored?

@Hamani00Sakura Since the nuts and glaze are toppings, you can choose to omit them from this recipe and try your own favorite glaze instead.

@Hamani00Sakura Hey I use lemon whenever I make glaze and I think it taste much better than the milk glaze mixture ;)

@tish4554 Our recipe was tested using only the listed ingredients. Adding a cheese filling may change or alter the results.

@shesobreezy Hi shesobreezy- The sour cream is used to give the coffee cake a nice tangy taste along with a smooth and moist consistency.

@houchi69 well you don't see teacakes have tea in them. They're meant to be eaten alongside tea. Coffee cake makes perfect sense to me lol.
