  • Very nice! I have been playing this piece about a week now, and have just today managed to memorize it. Now the work of polishing it begins. That's why I'm here: I wanted to listen to a variety of interpretations of it. Nicely done. This piece would fall into ruin without a thoughtful approach. I was drawn in by your performance. Thank you for posting.

  • Hello cjkreuscher72 - Thank you very much for your kind & articulate comment, I appreciate it very much! I actually thought that my performance of this beautiful piece on YouTube had been forgotten by now so you really made my day!! :-) Best wishes, GR

  • You 've done it nicely. It's a very very difficult piece but also very beautiful.

Great Job ! Good thumb of your left hand.

Are you a classical guitar teacher.

  • Lovely interpretation, well done. Regarding the long reaches, sometimes I drop the inner voice. That's my own "way around" the problem!

  • @MarkAntony - Thank you very much! Dropping the inner voice is a great idea, I'm going to give it a try. Only the aficionados will tell if they really pay attention ;-). Best regards, GR

  • Very nice! Also I've never seen anyone execute that low Eb with the thumb.

  • @dakone1 - Thank you so much! Yes the thumb is not too bad once you get the hang of it. Thanks again and best wishes, GR

  • Eres fantástico :)

  • @Comingessp - Thank you very very much! Kind Regards, GR

  • Bravo my friend brilliantly played, and i enjoyed every minute of it.

You are quite right in saying not an easy piece to play. but you played it convincingly

    and with feeling.

  • Fantastic. Can you tell me the name of your guitar. Is it cedar or spruce?. Thanks.

  • Hello Comingessp, Thank you very much! My guitar is made by the wonderful luthier Gernot Wagner from Frankfurt, Germany. A 1997 traditional Hauser-influenced model with a spruce top and Brazilian rosewood back and sides. Thanks for your interest. Best, GR

  • @GuitarRomancer Thanks :)

  • Only one word for it -- beautiful.

  • Hi marjannonaka, Thank you so much! I agree it is one of the most beautiful guitar pieces ever written, classic and timeless. Barrios was a wonderful genius. Best wishes, GR

  • Great playing once again GR and another moving performance, I love the intensity of your vibrato and subtle use of rubato in this piece.

    Grant

  • Hi Grant, Thank you very much for your generous comments. Glad you liked the vibrato/rubato too! :-) Cheers, GR

  • Excellent! Beautiful sound in sipte of difficulties you mentioned. How much time did you spent to play it so good by heart?

  • Hi Serge Thank you very much! I've been playing the piece for about a year but only by reading it. It took me a few weeks to commit it to memory. I really memorized it well after playing it many times trying to get a good take to post on YouTube. Thanks again, GR

  • I'm not familiar with this piece, so I didn't notice any mistakes at all. Your standards of excellence are much higher than mine. In fact, if I were to adopt your standards, I'd have to stop playing all together. But I'll keep listening to this video until I can recognize a mistake.

  • First class playing; sensitive, expressive, and clean.

  • Hello Earl, Thank you very much for your complimentary words, I appreciate them very much! Best regards, GR
