are you man or women? it's perfectly sung, very in style, great interpretation, just gorgeus, sorry i don't know if i wrotte it rigth, my english sucks. but excelent work anyway
I've just listened to Fa mi combatere (Handel's Orlando), not so good. What I like here is that you have no vibrato. Vibrato is not recommended in good alto or countertenor baroque music. Keep simple and work the rhythm, in arias de bravoura.

I wanted to appreciate the whole, not just a beautiful voice.
I also hope Eser will have a great ensemble to sing this piece with because she does have a very beautiful voice!!! I was not criticizing the singer but the sounds.
Everybody knows that strings as MIDI sounds are the worst! Also, MIDI distorts the intonation. Maybe a sampler would be more effective. The midi organ sounds fine.
@otavioandradas Not to worry. Most people here would agree with you that the accompaniment (if you call it that) is horrible. This was a very amateurish try by me as far as accompanying track goes since I knew next to nothing about MIDI files, and had no means back then to acquire a decent accompaniment other than this one. The ultimate goal, of course, is to find a small but sound ensemble. As for deleting this video, I have no intention to.
@otavioandradas I think he had no choice; professional orchestra don't usually record karaoke versions. But the sound of his voice is totally worth the price of the poor synth orchestra.
@civileso Eeh, sorry, besides I knew it. I'm used to hear this music sung by a countertenor, so I didn't think much before posting ;). Thanks for all your work.
I have only nice things to say - Thank you for truly divine music which has been rendered to perfection - your voice is inimitable and exquisite and I am sure if Vivaldi was around he would endorse what I am saying - thank you and bash on regardless ! !
Please stop smoking ! Your breath will beacome much longer and steady ! ( I heared that mainly when you breath in ) . But continue singing in that way !
@civileso That is a joke, I've been smoking since I was 14 (I'm 19 now) and I have no problem to hold notes... It's about practice, it's all about practice... The air on the notes it's because the vocal chords don't touch each other well, but with time it dissapears and the aired singing goes away...
@starbreez3 Ask to Jorge Negrete or even Kraus, they both smoked and sing til death... I truly believe that smoking damages the resistance but not the vocal chords (Kraus ang Negrete could stand it because they did daily exercise). Though I'll stop smoking anyway for it is bad for my throat when is cold (irritation). Even if I heard that with countertenors it is different, smoking damages falsetto so you better don't...
@civileso You have a great voice you know, I really like it... Try to practice your breathing control. I suggest you to do it not with breathing exercises, do it singing... Sing and sing and sing, and then keep singing. It will help you a lot.
you're voice is quite steady, I like the tone, very full, strong, and yet sensitive! I just noticed that you sometimes start too late, or that you're dragging a bit at the tempo(if you know what I mean) ;)
but i do understand it must not be easy when you're accompaniment is so unsensitive..
But hey, that's just my opinion.. I really liked it!
Yeah, one of the best and most enjoyable things about singing, especially once you are singing well, is to sing with a good accompanist, and, hopefully, a good friend.
I think your voice sounds rather like that of a very good boy alto here: which I really like! I hate the accompaniment though... although I realise it's not easy to find lovely little willing orchestras to accompany you! They're probably not easy to record though. I sang "Ach, daB ich wassers g'nug hatte" with a viol consort last year, and although I sounded dreadful (too much singing beforehand) it was a transcendent experience.
Congratulatons. I've liked so much your voice and performance.Thank also for posting on youtube so many barock pieces, with their own scores.I have studied piano at Conservatorio in Italy and i like singing while watching your barock videos, reading the scores.I'm making trials to record at home the Stabat Mater of Pergolesi.I will sing 3 voices: 1)soprano, 2) contralto, 3)a voice imitating the "basso continuo". Noone instrument accompanying me ("a capella" perfomance).I will make you know.kiss
I was listening to it again and was thinking that you should be afraid to go to chest voice on your low C. On longer low passages you do go in chest and it does sound nice, so unless you have big breaks problem at the moment, it might be an idea no ? Maybe i dont make sense :p
It's hard to look back more than a year in the past. But I believe, back then, the lack of breath support was responsible in these awkward low notes. It usually sounded fine on ascending scales whereas the descending ones were often limp and not-so-well-centered. The "break" of registers the amateur singers think they experience is actually an illusion. It doesn't exist. It's only the lack of breath support that causes the transition to be less smooth.
You need a real orchestra!!!!!! The problems you have with singing are only tecnical (with hours of training will pass away)....Colour of your voice and feeling for music are remarkable and it is a gift, that nobody can teach.... :)
I totally agree. A beautiful voice and an artistic sense can't be taught, and they're, in my opinion, the 'sine qua non' condition before taking lessons. Eser has that, and she doesn't really need lessons. We'll record things soon. Surprise, surprise. ;)
@civileso Agree with the above. There's a lovely limpidity to your voice... do invest in the training, it'll put icing on the already impressive cake.
this sounds very different then when i had to sing it in school in 6, 7 and 8th grade...hmm..the tune kinda and the length ur holding the notes. did u do this purposely or did we just have do them differently?
I like your voice, very in tune. Though I found you slowed down a smidge when you started, and I felt it could use more forward momentum. Sometimes it felt like you were sitting on the notes when I felt it needed to push forward. Hope that's not mean.
I like your tone. Very cultured. You're losing some of your line on large jumps where the upper note is higher then a G. I see that you added this video almost a year ago, and if you have found a voice teacher I'm sure that this has been corrected, as most likely it was a connection with the breath that was lacking. My apologies if you feel this comment was unwarented.
On the contrary, I appreciate your comment more than a mere compliment. You are spot on actually. Yes, I have breathing issues, it has been my main challenge. I still don't have a teacher and it seems that I never will. I practice myself still. But I believe I've made some headway since then. Hopefully I'll upload a newer recording in the near future. Thanks a lot for constructive criticism.
Thanks a lot. I also have Handel's "Fammi Combattere" from Orlando that I uploaded on my channel, although it is a very different mood. But I do have others that I am working on. I'll keep you posted when I finish them.
this is one of my favorite pieces and i absolutely adore your voice with it. best of luck to you; i would love to hear your voice with a real orchestra...
