  • that drummer wishes he was meg white

  • @iamthecodofhalo1 That drummer is James Patrick Keeler of the Raconteurs. :)

  • NO PUEDO CREER LO QUE ESCUCHO!

  • WOW!

  • Twangy country music and punk rock have a lot in common. Check out Dwight Yoakum's cover of the Clash song "Train in Vain". Jack White is awesome, Loretta Lynn is awesome.

  • OMG Amazing!!!!!!!

    Theres still hope for music!

  • "And a pitcher to go..." This is a great song and this is a great performance. Yes!

  • fantastic

  • Watseka Theatre Watseka Illinois Summer 2011 Country Music Concert Series; July 2

  • (3:13) Uh-huh...Loretta's Live pitch-correction fail moment.

  • Well, I almost thought I'd seen it all!

  • Loretta Lynn, not my flavor but a legend. Jack White pays homage to his predecessors. He's a legend in the making. Really really incredible. Never fails.

  • indeed we are not.......

  • Love living in Portland!

  • @macvspc1020 nerd!

  • Loretta Lynn is amazing. I think Have Mercy is Epic!!! im waiting for her to perform that song live or for someone to post!! :))

    love her!

    xo

  • freak show

  • Is that Patrick Keeler and Jack lawrence on drums and bass?!?!? sweet!

  • awesome song. Modern yet it takes you back with it's sound to a time when music was something that the artists worked hard to be good at and present it to their fan base. Now days it's all about a catchy beat wrapped around a four word hook that is easy to remember. Stealing paychecks from kids that wouldn't know good music if it hit them in the face

  • This is some amazing genuis work! Anyone who disses Jack or Loretta, just doesn't know jack.

  • that was the best new song i have heard in 10 years.I think I've found my sound

  • This is so, so awesome that I really wish i could get passed her over-the-top get-up. Is that a f*ckin' wedding dress, or what? Seriously, though, kickass song, especially for country.

  • @TheWalrus001 Better ott than skimpy and bare.and for a woman of her age,she looks great

  • @TheWalrus001 You oughta be used to the dress. She wore it on the album cover, in the music video and when she won the grammy for this album.

  • @jwindyboy have some rspect u punk

  • Detroit's own Jack White. So nice to see we can still get things right every so often. Seems everything he touchs turns out great. Would like to see him team up with Mitch Ryder!!!

  • I love Loretta but this wasn't her best performance she is the best though. Jack white looks like he's high like 24/7

  • patrick keeler and jack lawrence i think you meant WHOS in the dead weather now! the dead are so great and so is this song and band. haha the dead now means the dead weather not the grateful dead.

  • Pleasure to see and listen to such great musicianship from two great artists.

  • i spy a patrick keeler

  • @lovemusicmzipse i spy 3/4ths of the raconteurs!

  • @lovemusicmzipse i spy 3/4ths of the raconteurs!

  • Ms. Lynn is probably a Trail Blazers fan which makes my respect for even greater =D

  • On the steel pedal guitar: Dave Finney from the MSBL Braves. Dave comeback to the Braves for next season.

  • i noticed that the drummer and the bassit are patrick keeler and Lj, from the greenhornes, probably befor the reconteurs.

  • Love them both! Loretta is amazing STILL!!

  • I sat in between Loretta and Dewey in the owners suite (Marge Schott) at a Cincinnati Reds baseball game in the mid to late '90's. She sat next to me and I got up to move for Dewey to sit next to her. He said "stay there young fella', she's going home with me, you can have her during the game". So I stayed there and she talked about George Jones, Patti Page, Tammy Wynette and her family. That was the fastest baseball game ever! Two hours were gone...like that!

    She is a treasure!

  • patrick keeler rockin

  • hurricane mills tenn

  • i been to her house lol in tn :D

  • OMG! Loretta is the best!

  • loretta was the first punk rock girl singer. she kicked ass.

Love me some loretta lynn y'all.

  • I love robot music

  • Ive never seen Jack White play a telecaster. I prefer his Eastwood/Rickenbacker/Gretsch more.

He does get a good sound out of it though.

  • @3Nerdy oh look at me i kmow about guitars i am so deep

  • Jack is a real performance artist, Loretta Lynn a natural. Nice work to share the stage together. It's great for Jack to give Loretta a new young audience.

  • Loretta is on thing but the Dowaters are a whole different story. Jack White and anybody are sure to get a hit song.

  • @Wenchskee of course :)

  • @Wenchskee Loretta is legendary though. She has an amazing story of her own

  • I just hope I kick ass this much when I'm her age.

  • @broknbricks They may have lost money in the stock market, and are really the Dow Haters....

  • Nice performance. And she's what, maybe 70, 71 when this was done?

  • Jack White looks like Tiny Tim jr.

  • jeez that kinda hurts , jack is alone as the true talent of the 2000s . Maynard James put up a fight , but he couldnt keep up with this more versatile and simple musician .. Problem with this generation is people are trying to fill their heads with complexity and really we just need more simple heroes .

  • @friendofsyd yes todays music is so complex, come on i dont think there is an artist in the top ten who can play an instrument

  • Psychodelic bluegrass all the way

  • this song is unreal

  • @ztubs6 Jack White is undoubtedly one of the greatest talents around. If you were really a Loretta fan, you would know what great taste she has. This is an awesome collaboration, and its reflected in the reviews of this song and album

  • I couldn't agree with you more.

  • It's called the evolution of music douche... He's playing awesome, but trying something new.

And as far as she PLAYED with the greatest, she still is. If you knew anything about this "hipster" you'd know he's a platinum selling artist. He is one of the GREATS of our time.

  • @ztubs6 duh what ? did u take too many blue ones today moron

  • jack white is tall as hell

  • And Lynn is little as hell

  • Don't diss Jack, he is amazing.

Loretta Lynn is a legend, an awesome singer, and a lovely woman.

  • yeah i know i love jack white i just figured everybody already knew he was there.. i just noticed LJ and the drummer..

  • no i know that comment wasnt necessarily aimed at you :)

  • @LillyCandyCane

I get it but the Dowhaters? comon

  • loretta lynn i never really heard but i like her :)

  • hey KryJoe, Loretta lynn is one of the biggest names in country music. She's from the 60's, 70's and 80's, but Jack White is such a fan, she decided to come out of retirement to much excitement here in the United States.

  • omg little jack and the drummer from the raconteurs awesome...

  • jack lawrence is playing the bass guitar too. dont forget about him.

  • of course you cant forget little jack :)

  • really amazing album.

  • One of My favorite Songs!!!

  • lol 1:30 of awkward soloing from a legend who isn't mentioned in the beginning....

  • What the fuck are you talking about.

  • the beginning. I mean it's great, but... a little awkward.

  • One of thebest albums of all TIME!

  • Hi, it's "The Do Whaters". I was reading the booklet a few minutes ago...

  • Love Loretta Lynn

  • uuuh nice !

  • Aw look at LJ! He's so adorable! And Patrick...never ages...haha

    AND JACK!

3/4 of the Raconteurs right there

  • Hey I was in the audience.

  • Even at her most country....Loretta Lynn has always rocked. We are not worthy.

  • I Love Slide Guitars

  • Sometimes white flerts to Country or bluegrass.

  • Jack White can do anything.

  • Yeah he is great

  • goosebumps

  • want his guitar

  • good stuff!!

  • ABSOLUTLY WONDERFUL!

  • i love how she is always in a prom dress.

    I <3 Portland!

  • agreed, Loretta has talent !! Love this shit !!

  • Great song from a great album. l'll still take Loretta over Carrie Underwear and the rest of those so-called "country" pop-tarts any day.

  • Jack White is flippin Sexy and his voice is amazing. Love you White!

  • greatest place ever most stip clubs per capita in the country

  • I hated Portland, so glad I moved back to Eugene.

  • why theyre basically the same but portlands a little bigger

  • Jack White put her back on the map, and PDX rocks, if your not down your out

  • I think it rocks!

  • u r fail

  • Hello, Loretta I have loved you for so long, Jack it's great to finally meet you!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace!!!

  • Portland sucks, stay in your town

  • Im moving to Portland,Oregon from Leeds,England, i cant wait

  • jack white es un genio, ojala vuelva a Chile pronto!

  • Portland Is awesome

there is a little something for everyone there

and NO! it's not a diet Seattle!!!!!

  • Dudes, she wrote a country song about Oregon because she's a country singer from Oregon. I love my metal but a place called Portland, Oregon sounds pretty country if you ask me, what's the metal scene like there?

  • Loretta is from Kentucky. I don't know about the metal scene, but it's like artsy-music capital of the world

  • Kentucky is the bluegrass capital. My husband is from Kentucky originally (around the Middlesboro/Pineville area). Beautiful country there. I've been there about 3 times. I love it there. But the jobs are in the Louisville and Lexington areas.

  • I'm sorry; the way I set up my original comment was all messed up. I meant to be talking about Portland itself.. very artsy/counter-culture city. Ive visited Kentucky once and it was really great. Stayed in Sturgis for an east coast version of the big biker rally and had a blast.

  • Umm hello.. She's the coal miners daughter.. Not too many coal mines in oregon. Try Butcher Holler Kentucky.

  • Not much mostly indie but a lot of other music types are there just not as much.

  • Jack White is so talented.

    I admire him so much.

  • you and me both

  • Canyonero! Oh, Canyonero!

  • hahah

can you name the truck with 4 wheel drive that smells like a steak and seats 35

    canyonero *whpish* canyoneroooo *whpish*

well it goes real slow with the hammer down.

its the country-fyed truck endorsed by a clown

    canyonero *whpish canyonerooooo hheeeeya *whpish*

    i love that song

  • jack white keeps making me like country music. from jolene to this, he's so well rooted

  • Loretta's dress is gorgeous

  • I LOVE Jack... ur comment was really nice. Loretta is a great talented lady. Have you seen the movie of her life The Coalminers Daughter, very sad but very good!

  • the only reason i like this song is because of jack white...i hate nashville country music i love texas red/dirt music ....this is the only nashville song i will ever like!

    Nashville sucks!!!!!!

    support texas music!!!!

  • yeah patrick keeler on drums

  • the Van Lear Rose album is so good its hypnotic. Its really rewarding to listen to. They are both amazing, and the combination is something to hear.

  • jack white - now there's a rock star - not some tv commercial selling shill.....

  • word

  • Woah, is that Patrick Keeler?

  • Yes...and Jack Lawrence. Pre-Raconteurs, post-Greenhornes.

  • i remember seeing the greenhornes open for the white stripes i think jack had this all planned out ...... sorry craig fox

  • she wrote it a long time ago... to make doo jealous...

jack found it in an old notebook and loved it...

that's the story i heard anyway.

    love love love!

  • Loretta & Jack is gold!

  • I saw her 2/21/09 in Houston, TX. I was the only Black Princess there and my Louboutin's and skinney jeans set that place on fi-yah. She has aged since this video and put on a short how, but I love me some Loretta and I'm happy to have seen her before she officially retires.

  • omg! Jack with a tele? AMAZING!

  • This is one of the best things EVER!!! HE is so brilliant and totally underrated!!

  • Only 3 days ago I was really not getting the allure/talent of Jack White (or White Stripes) but that rascal has won me over (as has Meg). He's really versatile and oh my hell the boy is good+. Loretta and him together is charming and exciting!

  • Moc se mi ta písnička líbí,ale ta Loretta se oblíká STRAŠNĚ, nemá vkus..

  • I think Gramm Parsons was striving for this sound. This I agree with others this is the direction country should be heading. Dwight Yoakam kinda has this sound going too.

  • Selfishly speaking, I wish country went more into this direction. Performers like Jenny Lewis aren't exactly regarded as country.

  • si senior...tengo problemo?

  • KICKS ASS! Its that simple.

  • I love loretta but isn't that White Stripe?

  • He produced and was featured on a few of her songs.

  • Who wrote the songs? She, or he, or both?

  • I'm not sure. I think it was a collaboration, but I could be wrong.

  • loretta wrote every song on the album except for one (i forget the title, it was the spoken word thing)

  • jack white is from the white stripes, but it's not the white stripes without meg. and actually i was suprised to notice Patrick Keeler on drums, and i think "Little" Jack Lawrence playing bass. the three of them (jack, little jack, and pat) play in the raconteurs, another great band.

  • his voice sounds really good here. I think this is when He stopped smoking.

  • red box rocks

  • I love that Jack teamed up with Loretta. I can't believe this is the first time I found this. Thank you for posting.

  • You must must must get the record. ;)

  • I agree, the record it's amazing. Every song on there is worth listening to, some albums don't have that, this one does! :o)

  • Leave it to the brilliance of JW to be able to bridge the country/rock genres so well!

  • is that patrick and LJ?

  • lol yes it is.

  • I live in Portland, Oregon.

  • I have great memories involving slow gin fizzz's ;)

  • What a magic combination!

  • respect.

  • Saweeet!

(just as much now as then)

  • Damn, Patrick's a great drummer-

  • I love this album. Two of my favorites, Jack White and Loretta Lynn, together. The White Stripes have also covered Rated X.

  • i dont like the beginning, but all in all it's good!

  • Loretta is my idol. She is still great.

  • this is a good song

  • The DoWhaters= The Greenhornes= The Raconteurs

  • OK THAN SORRY!!!! i can't stand country music if you can well thats your problem and i like the white stripes its better than that!!!!!

  • Jack is highly influenced by country music, why the hell do you think the White Stripes have released and play live the song Jolene? That was done by Dolly Parton originally

  • your fat

  • That's because you've probably been fed the terrible crap that goes for country music these days. If you listen to this you'll hear more "country" than just about anything coming out of Nashville these days.

  • JACK WHITE IS AMAZING!!!!

  • your retarded

  • why am i a retarded???

  • Jack White has been playing with Loretta Lynn for quite sometime..The White Stripes toured with her for a while. One of the only reasons we now the White Stripes is because of Loretta. He was in her band etc. etc.
