You cannot make an unreliable method reliable by counter examples. Even if you happen to encounter cases where animal tests results have not been refuted by their application to humans, this does not alter the unreliable status of the method.
There are cases where there is (and is not) correspondence in drug effects b/w human & animals. But how do we know? Because we transferred results of animal testing to humans. That is for all practical purposes, we tested them on ppl. An unavoidable fact.
From a moral perspective, animal experiments are abhorrent. However, also important to focus on human cost of animal tests. Big pharma love nothing more than spread idea that it is a choice b/w a human & an animal, it is not. These tests are unscientific, most r done for household products not to save lives. They have stalled progress, many ppl die from tested drugs. Many drugs could have saved lives but were not used b/c they killed animals.

Perhaps some PETA members can step up for some testing?! They enjoy the benefits of many of the drugs, foods, and products that were originally tested on animals, perhaps not by the current manufacturer. Ever take an aspirin? Tylenol? any allergy medicine? Ever have surgery? most medical procedures are tested on animals. I know the argument will be that just because its been done that way doesn't mean we should continue. First of all, most of the testing your company does is NOT for finding cures to diseases like you mentioned. It's testing chemicals, dyes, cleaning products, etc.

@TheNikkonish yes i am aware that drugs are tested in humans and animals. the requirements of the FDA are not based on evidence though. animal experiments have never been compared to human data officially despite much calling for this by the scientific anti vivisection movement. Consider a connection between the FDA and drug co's aswell.
Here is another example. If we have an Asian Flu epidemic, should we go ahead to find a cure or should we let Avian flu extinct the entire human population? If we do find a cure but we need to make sure it is save, do you mind if we test on humans first?

There are cases where there is (and is not) correspondence in drug effects b/w human & animals. But how do we know? Because we transferred results of animal testing to humans. That is for all practical purposes, we tested them on ppl. An unavoidable fact.

From a moral perspective, animal experiments are abhorrent. However, also important to focus on human cost of animal tests. Big pharma love nothing more than spread idea that it is a choice b/w a human & an animal, it is not. These tests are unscientific, most r done for household products not to save lives. They have stalled progress, many ppl die from tested drugs. Many drugs could have saved lives but were not used b/c they killed animals.

Perhaps some PETA members can step up for some testing?! They enjoy the benefits of many of the drugs, foods, and products that were originally tested on animals, perhaps not by the current manufacturer. Ever take an aspirin? Tylenol? any allergy medicine? Ever have surgery? most medical procedures are tested on animals. I know the argument will be that just because its been done that way doesn't mean we should continue. Does anyone have a better solution?

Die Kopplung von tierversuchsfreien Methoden wie z.B. das Screening (dabei kann mit Hilfe von Computern anhand der Struktur eines Stoffes dessen Wirkung auf den Organismus berechnet werden) und die Epidemiologie (Überwachung und Forschung des Krankheitsverlaufs am Menschen) liefern gute Erkenntnisse und Ergebnisse.

First of all, most of the testing your company does is NOT for finding cures to diseases like you mentioned. It's testing chemicals, dyes, cleaning products, etc.
And if you actually work there I'm amazed you don't know any alternative ways for testing drugs, such as tissue culture, computer modelling, studies of patients and populations. And the Avian flu, by the way, was almost certainly evolved in crowded battery cages because of man's greed. Now you want to torture more animals to cure it?

@TheNikkonish yes i am aware that drugs are tested in humans and animals. the requirements of the FDA are not based on evidence though. animal experiments have never been compared to human data officially despite much calling for this by the scientific anti vivisection movement. Consider a connection between the FDA and drug co's aswell.

I encourage you all to do your research before you think about protesting against animal testing. Without it many of you and your friends and family would not be here today. Animal testing is necessary for the development of drug therapies for so many diseases including cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Don't be fooled. Have you heard that the people who make water bottles (Nalgene) make animal restraints for testing? I've switched to the stainless steel water bottles because the plastic from Nalgene is supposed to be leaching into the water from the bottle. I guess Nalgene plastic is the worst for that! These animals are suffering and dying for YOU! If it weren't for these animals then it would be humans dying and suffering from the diseases that Covance drugs cure and treat. These lab techs, scientists, and vets are NOT sick people that get pleasure from this. If you don't agree with animal testing than you shouldn't be allowed to benefit from the drugs that are the outcome. This includes antibiotics, ibuprofen, cancer radiation,etc. Please people, use your head and stop overreacting!

I liked the graphical images in this movie, I'm a fan of this kind of stuff. I love animals and I'm against animal abuse, however some drugs should be tested on animals first. It would be worse if humans had these terrible side effects from drugs.

Thanks for the comment, check out PCRM (physicians committee for Responsible Medicine) they are medical doctors and scientists against animal research. They have alot of information about how animal tests are unreliable and have caused more harm than good to people.
