  • ja heel groot is ie niet maar wel heel grote ballen

  • Awesome! 5*****

  • Hello

How do you manage to feed them in the tube when they are so many?. Dont they crawl out when u open it?

  • i think its tie for a bigger formicarium

  • I have had my lasius niger queen for over three monthes and i only have 3 workers but many larvae but amy suggestions how to make her produce eggs faster?

  • @ctarshis01 im not sure if u still have this colony, lol, but if u place them next to a heater or something the egg devolopment is faster. they might be in a cold place wich is why they are not ants yet.

  • @ertesdfds she is dead now due to a dropping wall moving sad i have to wait till spring for some ants or even FALL for others

  • hey boeff82, did you brood boost at all ?

  • When do you move them out of the tube into a bigger place?? how do u do it.

  • how do you put the food inside the tube. they might get out if you put the food

  • i think he conenctet the tube to a arena so they can fetch food water and honeywater

  • At what temperature is the colony ?

    What food ?

    Thanks !

  • lasius niger lives in europe , they can survive 1-30°

if its over 30° to long they will die cuz of the heat

they eat everything , insects sugarwater honey cat food , fish etc

  • What on earth are you feeding them to get that much brood?

  • put them in a fucking tank dude lol thhere swamming that

  • i know do you know that if you get the tube to crowed the queen will order the workers to brake out of the tube

  • Do you know, that is totally untrue. The queen has no control over the colony, her name is misleading. All she does is make eggs.

  • Do you know you are the one who is talking bullshit..?

The queen and the ants are all one organism.. one super organisme!

They will all work together, So if one says the other will and so on..!

  • Yes, I actually do know who is talking bullshit, and it's not me.

A queen doesn't tell an ant to go get food. The ant gets it itself. Not because something told it too.

  • im sorry mate but hes right. the queens dosen't have a very big job in the nest. all she dose is lay eggs for the future of the colony. the workers decide umung themselfs to do what job the workers need to do. the ants protect her because she is the future of the colony and if she dies the colony will be doomed. (depending on species). i would know, i have been studying entomology for 5 years now

  • What are your feeding them?

  • I have recently captured a L. niger Queen and I wanted to ask if it's OK to capture some workers (with some honey) to get her nest going.. Or would they attack her? I really have no clue what to do, because L. niger only tolerates one Queen per nest, right? So, should I isolate any captured workers for say 24 hours?

  • They will probaly kill her. There is very small change that it will work. But I won't take that risk.

  • Thx so much! :)

Another question: As my Queen is now housed in a small terrarium and as I have no idea on how she is doing, is it OK to dig her out and relocate her to a tube? If I placed the tube in a dark room, say the cellar, would it be all right for her? I don't want to find a dead Queen in one month. Any suggestions?

  • too late you could kill her on the proses let her alone in a few weeks you`ll see workers coming out searching for food

  • @Boeff82 Once i had two tetramorium queens from to diffrent nests i had and one queen died, so about a week later i tried placing the leftover workers from the dead colony into my other existing colony, (both colonys only had about 23 workers and 1 queen) and the queenless ants accepted the other ant queen as their own. i was suprized.

It's not so hard to start your own ;)

I will do my best to take good care of them :P

  • yeah i started mine with 2 queens one in atest tube and the other in her nat farm with dirt

  • @Boeff82 How do you start your own?

  • They are moved from the tube into a small nest

    Video is uploading now :D

  • This colony definately has high potential, how are the ones in the ytong nest doing?

  • They are also doing fine :D

but the glas is a bit dirty from the inside for some reason. So you can't see them that good when I film them, but in real life I still can

  • WOW! The colony was small when you last showed them! They really do grow fast!

  • Yes they do! :D

I'm really glad and proud that they are doing so well :D
