Amazing! These things have really been making me mad and lose time and I always wondered why logic didn't have better key commands. Thanks so much for sharing. Saves me tons of time.
Often I wish there was a way to change the spot where two different notes meet, that is to shorten the first note and simultaneously lengthen the second (instead of shorten the first separate and then lengthen the second to match up again. I very often need to both shorten and lengthen notes to correct timing. So I shorten one note separate, lengthen the next separate, shorten one note separate and lengthen the next separate endlessly..zzz
@rawstarmusic I studied interface design for a bit, needed it for my final thesis at university, there are some redundant shortcuts in every software, so I tried a few random combinations until I got it right :)
@7Skiestv ..you're my type of guy.) I wanted that for so long (control of length) but didn't get any response from Logic users groups. I do rule-bending (elsewhere) with the Melodyne which is understood from my thumb-pic. Your videos are much appreciated because this knowledge and quality. Downloaded your free ES2's thinking of buying the set, is it any good? In your opinion
@rawstarmusic now, I would tell you it's amazing but I did it so it wouldn't really matter, can't tell you it's crap either cause it would be counter productive for my business.
Best suggestion is to ask around forums I guess, plenty of people who downloaded it illegally (and legally) will give you the correct feedback I guess :D
You just made yourself 7 happy lives in succession cause I'm gonna see to that you get it! Because of the "Option-Shift-length of notes". If knew how much I have missed that thinking it wasn't in there but you just showed it to me.
1. Choose Logic Pro > Preferences > General (or use the corresponding key command).
2. Click the Editing tab, then choose a setting from the Right Mouse Button pop-up menu.
3. Choose Is Assignable to a Tool: When this option is chosen, a third Tool menu (Right-click Tool menu) appears to the right of the Left-click and Command-click Tool menus. Choose the appropriate menu item to assign the tool, which is available when the right mouse button is pressed while editing.
Hey Dave, what's your rountings to the Duet? How do you connect your 3 hardware synths since Duet has only 2 line ins? Common, do you use any kind of passive mixer?
Hey David, I really enjoy your videos since not many professional producers will make videos to help others, let alone show how they do things. Would be awesome if you could make a video series of putting together a track just for fun so we can see your work flow in terms of putting together a track.
Just like everyone is saying already, yes this tut was a bit slow.Maybe you should prepare the vid a little bit more, idk. But apart from that it was great! :]
Hey man i really appreciate the tutorials lately ive been getting better and youve been a great help :D Thank you so much and keep making lovely music

Just curious, where did you get that information to quantize length? Surely there's no such short-cut information in the 1000 page manual?
