  • does iLife come with a MacBook Pro because I plan on buying a MacBook Pro this summer and it says that I can buy it with iWork and it has no option to chose iLife

  • @zakattakk1 Yes. New Macs come with the current version of iLife. That includes iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb and GarageBand.

  • Hi Gary!!!

your video are very interesting!!! congratulation!!!

I'd like to have some information about iWork 10 release date. Do you know something?

    Thanks, gg from Italy

  • I don't have any inside info, no. Sorry.

  • $2,800 for a damn computer!!!! that in two years wont be worth it!!!! OMG! what the hell are all these people smoking! and how could people buy such things in these hard times!!!

  • Often, computers aren't toys. Many people, myself included, make their living by using a computer. If that is your career, then why not pay $2,800 to use the tools you want to use?

  • What Mac book should I buy,

I want to have good editing software and a good webcam with effects?

  • i've got a problem with my 17 inch MBP, sometimes when i leave it closed and i want to open it, it doesn't start, hoping you can help me

  • Impossible to tell what might be wrong with it from here. You should take it to the Genius Bar and have them take a look.

  • can't stand close minded mac haters.......

  • I just posted a full iPhoto 09' review and demo.

  • does i life i work come free with all macbook pros

  • The current version of iLife comes with every new Mac. iWork costs a little extra.

  • you just made me more excited for getting my mac a was already super excited

  • Apple products are simply the best

  • 1. You can't yet compare PC hardware and MAC hardware side by side. 2GHz CPU on PC does not perform the same as a 2GHz CPU on a MAC. Hardware is just one side of it and is only as good as the software that interacts with it.

    2. The guy said 256Mbps songs lol. He meant 256Kbps

  • Why are there so many people going on about PCs on here?! Macs are far better, and no matter how much memory it's got, no matter how powerful the video card is, or how big the hard drive, PC = FAIL. Windows sucks. It crashes often and it's clunky and clumsy.

    Macs work. Simple.

  • As both a mac and PC user I have to defend the fact that Windows is a superb OS given that you dont have many third party apps running. A simply trip to msconfig fixes most of my friends computers actually.

For viruses, I've found the most efficient method to not worry about them is to avoid clicking on every porn pop-up i get.

Apple is like BMW and PC is like the rest of the industry- you can get anything from a Saturn (budget PC) to a Porsche (gaming pc)

  • look having 4 gigs on a mac is like having 10 gigs on a laptop pc with windows vista...simply because the same people that make the hardware ALSO make the operating system !!! you know what that means ? that the applications running use 100% of the system resources with no glitch !

  • Apply hardly "makes" the hardware. The processor is intel and the gpu is either nvidia or AMD. The northbridges and southbridges are technically carbon-copies of PC motherboard OEMs.

This is all thanks to the 07 intel transition.

  • Where is Steve Job's ?

  • he took a leave of absence for a few months due to health "complications"

  • i got this news from mac forum.

Numerous owners of brand new 17-inch MacBook Pro are complaining that their video cards or perhaps notebooks are failing. The new $2,799 MacBook, which was debuted in January at Macworld, features both GeForce 9600M and GeForce 9400M mobile graphics cards from NVIDIA. Owners are now reporting that their laptops have started to show random green lines, artifacts on the display, blank screens and a certain symptom for failing video card.

  • So?

  • if only that was a mac. those parts are wtf. for a laptop!!!!

  • eternalkp, i see this douche is posting in every macbook pro video about his Phantom i7. nobody want to buy your big shit laptop, get a life.

  • GAMING IS ALL ABOUT THE GPU...

ASUS W90 Series W90Vp-X1 on newegg for $2,200.

    Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz

    18.4" 1920x1080 resolution

    6gb DDR2 800mhz

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 X2

    320GB 7200rpm harddrive

this laptop might not be pretty like a mac but it has a spectacular GPU. and read reviews from newegg. People play games with max quality at 1920x1080 resolution.

Anandtech shows that ATI 4870 x2 gets 35fps at 1920x1080 on VERY HIGH.

why buy a mac to attempt this silliness?

  • dude stfu microsoft sucks balls, macintosh baby!!! ya baby ya!

  • The majority of people who own Macs are probably more interested in doing work on it than gaming. The new MacBooks have a powerful enough graphics/video card that games run smoothly enough on them.

Thus, my point is this: psh.

  • No the majority of people who buy macs are computer illiterate. That is why they overpay a computer 2X over that can't be upgraded and use a 1 button mouse.

  • Actually most of the Mac users & indeed Linux users i've met are more than computer literate, & know their way around Windows extremely well, they just prefer a different OS & aren't really into installing pretty flashing lights on their "rigs" & boasting about their 'Specs" online as if anyone really cares :)

  • of course they know windows, because thats where all the software is at. they are still computer illiterate.

  • if you get a macpro it can be upgraded

  • omg, it can be upgraded and a mac still has two buttons!

  • 9600 gt can handle most games and it must have a horrible battery life, the mbp also has the 9400m to keep a long battery life

  • Its 8 hours battery life, not 9.

  • i want that shirt

  • I NEEEEED ILIFE 09

  • my copy was dispatched about an hour ago. can't wait!!!!!

  • im downloading it for free right now

  • get a external usb harddrive

go into a mac store or lezts say best buy...and just copy and paste the program to oyur harddrive...

its shoplifting so dont get cought!!!

its illegal...but it workes...just have the usb kabel up your arm and put yopur hand next to the usb port...noone will see it then

  • lol genius , that was on the real hustle

  • i know XD

  • Wouldn't it only copy the shortcut? Don't you still need the activation code? That's how it would work on a pc. I don't know about macs.

  • it workes with macs, sincemacs use image files and no exe... so no installation ...

    look up the video

    the real hustle software scam

  • Besides all That: Apple has also made 8 million songs DRM free, and by the end of this quarter expects all 10 million songs on iTunes to be DRM free. Users who have DRM protected music can upgrade their songs to be DRM free, however, this will cost US$0.30 per track. The iTunes store has also been made available via 3G on the iPhone, rather than just through Wi-Fi.

  • You forgot one new thing! That you can buy songs on 3G with iPhone now not just Wi-Fi

  • it 8 hours of battery life.

  • 256 mbit/s is quite allot for one song isnt it??

  • f u have the lapored 0x will u get the snow lepored free or u hav to buy it

  • We don't know. No Snow Leopard pricing announcement yet.

  • single set: $79

    Family set: $99

  • That's for iLife and iWork...

    EMZ.

  • that isn't for the both copies. The family set is only iLife'09, but can be installed on 5 macs

  • not free :(

  • if you got a mac between January 6th and march 28th and it didn't come with ilife 09 you can upgrade it for 9.95. other then that you gonna have to pay 79.95 for the new ilife &iwork. trust me i work at apple

  • Too bad I bought mine 7 days before January 6th... =(

  • will ilife 09 be free for and upgrade?

  • No, Apple doesn't do upgrades for iLife.

  • I must point out that I think you are wrong here. Apple ONLY offers iLife as an upgrade. Why? Because EVERY mac comes with iLife. Since iLife 09 requires a certain spec of mac to run, and the minimum spec mac comes with a version of iLife, iLife is ALWAYS an upgrade. You could argue that you could format a mac and install OSX without iLife, but even Phil Schiller says in his keynote that iLife 09 is an "upgrade". (check ~46:00 in the keynote). The word 'upgrade' is also in the slide.

  • That might be the term Schiller used, but an upgrade usually implies a reduced price and that there is a "full price" version. There isn't. So I wouldn't call it an upgrade.

  • Good points as well, I suppose it could go either way in the case of iLife. Apple just basically likes simplicity in everything, so they try not to split up their software products with several versions. I guess we can agree that every version is BOTH an upgrade and a full version, depending on what it is installed over.

  • is it a free upgrade?

  • liked ur vid but the battery is up to 8 hrs

    not 9

    5*

  • It's 256 kbps, not 256 mbps. My god, mbps would swallow my hard drive in a few songs!

  • iLife '09 came at the wrong time >_>. I just bought my first Mac a couple days ago and then they come out with a new iLife. GREAT! Now, if I were to upgrade, it would cost me $99. Yeah thanks Apple Dx. I still love my Mac though... best OS and computer ever!

  • I know how you feel. I got mine for Christmas. =/ that is messed up. grrr

  • it gets upgraded for free

  • itunes news is good !

but the rest leave little to be desired

Macworld '09' was So disappointing ?

I was waiting 6 months to replace my desktop to a mac mini

and this is wat I get !

Apple sure knows how to Piss customers of !

  • thats the problems with rumours, apple never said there was gonna be a new mac mini now did they, agree it needs updating though

  • Gotta agree with rkukentertainment, Apple never said they would update the mini at macworld.

  • Does any one know where i can see the keynote speech?

  • goto apple(dot)com/startpage theirs a link there

  • Do you think apple will announce a hardware upgrade to this iphone this year ( aside form more memory)? I will be able to get one in February but I'm worried a new version will come soon after i get mine.

  • Impossible to say. Haven't heard any rumors. You can always "wait for the next version." And then "wait for the next version" when that one comes too.

  • I've heard rumors of another mid year release. This means July.

Remember this is only a rumor. But at the same time it is better than an all-out guess. You could say its a "educated guess".

  • 8 hours, not 9 hours

And it's 7 hours with the 9600m GT

  • I don't see why it would be any different. I'll bet it will be the same price.

  • Most likely not. In the past OS X upgrades don't come with iLife. You have to buy the iLife upgrade. But now they are offering this new "Mac Box Set" which seems like an "upgrade everything" option. I'm sure that will come with Snow Leopard when it is released.

  • Gary, what do you know about Apple releasing Snow Leopard. I've read in a lot of places that it is rumored to be released Q1, but some still say it could be released late Q3 early Q4, do you know anything about this?

  • Don't know anything special. I doubt it will be Q1 or it would have gotten some mention today. I think the original timeline was Q2.

  • finaly, an 8gb RAM option on macbooks. it costs 1200 extra though, lmao.

  • you rule! very fast upload

  • the 17 inch MBP should have came with a 9800 instead of 9600, for the price you pay it should be expected.

  • also add a 512 GB SSD !

but this thing is meant for photographers it's not a toy

Almost every professional photographer I've seen has one of these !

    they don't really need a 9800 !

  • Apple's next OS (snow leopard) will support OpenCL, which will allow developers to use the GPU to accelerate some tasks. so for a professional, a faster GPU could help greatly in the future. Or they could just release a patch that allows for some form of Hybrid-SLI, that would also help.

  • oo well sorry dude... chill out

  • I'm surprised they didn't refurb the mac mini.

  • they should make a imovie 09

  • They are. It is part of iLife 09.

  • It comes with ilife 09 n00b.

  • They did...

  • I am so dissapointed with the keynote almost no new products that everyone was talking about no iphone nano no mac tablet no nothing oh well

  • Good roundup. I was a bit disappointed with the outcome of the keynote since I thought they may have released a new Mac Mini and an iMac with better specifications.

  • yeah, the mac mini needs a new brother
