  • Love Al sharpton should've been president

  • Leave it to the Dumbocrats to give a primetime speaking slot to a race-baiting bigot who was behind the Tawana Brawley Hoax, the Massacre At Freddy's Fashion Mart, defamed numerous cops who defended themselves against ghetto miscreants, attacked the Duke Lacrosse players, and defended the Jenna 6.

Sharpton is an embarassment and has no business in the American political process. There is no excuse for welcoming a political and racial extremist who threatens others with violence.

  • A monument to oratory! Beautiful!

  • The greatest moment during that convention. Love him.

  • Most people remember then soon-to-be Senator Obama's speech on that night, but Rev. Al delivered a SOLID home run! Excellent and moving speech!

  • Sharpton knocked the ball out of the park on this one.

  • I thought this was an excellent speech. Sharpton has really made up for the Tawana Brawley debacle these past few years

  • Al Sharpton believes that a vote for Obama was a vote for socialism. watch?v=KCpINI5aVy0 Al Sharpton wants to share the wealth. “Al Sharpton: We Won't Have True Social Justice Until Everything is Equal in Everybody's House” watch?v=95bcEb1rV18

    .

Sharpton should start by giving up his $5 million (from celebrity net worth com) It’s also worth noting Hilter was a socialist that seemed to follow the Communist Manifesto.

    .

    Allen West 2012

  • @SunTzuing Hitler was a socialist who followed the communist manifesto?! Are you high on meth? National socialism was political socialism, and Hitler was an avowed enemy of Stalin and the communists. He HATED them. His policies were fascist, not socialist. You're so uniformed that you read 'national socialism' and think socialism, don't you?

  • @comment below mines, How dare you ask someone that question? Every one is titled to there opinions and your has gone too far !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy speaks about the right of black people and how white people are racist.. but yet he is one of the most racist individuals Ive ever heard in my life.

  • I still listen to this speech several times a year. An example of a really stellar presentation.

  • @FreedomUSA1 I am a Socialist, Black Male Philosophy Major (I will thank you to not crack on the spelling of Genious as, well, ya know. The result of typing 25 words per minute with 30 errors) and I love this speech! I have never been more proud.

  • video part 16:43-18:00. Although I may not agree with all of Al Shaprtons views, I definitley enjoyed his speech from the 2004 DNC Convention about family values and persevering. These are true words.

  • Rev. Al. is such a great speaker...better than Obama in my opinion

  • 12:45-13:12 lol

  • @AirCargoHeavy

That was not even called for! I believe otherwise and I am not ignorant!

  • Bush and a list full of others are cut from a same cloth too and if you don't see that then you are ignorant.

  • "I suggest to you tonight that if George Bush had selected the court in '54, Clarence Thomas would've never got into law school."

God bless you, Al. You'll always be the president...

... the president of my heart. :-)

  • I'm so happy I believe in Hell, because I know that this race-huckster, who has the blood of innocents on his hand, will pay for his crimes.

  • A lesson in effective in-house rhetoric!

  • Simply the best speech of that convention and Mr Sharpton finest moment.

  • agreed. gives me goosebumps everytime i hear it.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, TheJoeyD27, Sharpton is really powerful, how he managed to get Kerry beat. Maybe the fact that in early Aug., Kerry said that even knowing all that we had since learned about GWB's lies about Iraq, he (Kerry) would have still gone to war, had something to do with his getting beat. And the Swift Boat campaign of lies that dominated news for a month, too.

  • I beg to differ on that comment!

  • God bless Reverend Al!

  • good work "Terakasi". Not only did you explain your argument, but you did so in the most articulate terms. I hope you can go on to teach your family and little ones this kind of intelligent thought. When you do so, please put them on youtube, so the rest of us can point and laugh. By the way, be sure to tightly fasten your gun rack to the pickup. We wouldn't want one you to hit a bump while you are drinking your budweiser, hit a bump and die a silly, tragic death.

    Oh wait, yes we would.

  • Rev Al is another of my heroes.

  • Mine too!!

  • EXCELLENT speech. Wow. "Sharpton: MR. PRESIDENT! READ MY LIPS: OUR VOTES ARE NOT FOR SALE!" Hahaha

  • Whereas you are so evolved? If you can't see the great goodness of this man you are blind...and it would appear, a racist as well. Fuck you!

  • watch?v=xE0YguaP-Nk

  • Al Sharpton's speech was one of the best at the 2004 democratic convention!

  • First off I am sorry for all the ignorant comments before this one. Now to tell the truth Al Sharpton is the lowest of low lifes. I wish this can come off as serious and heart felt as possible. Al is a sorry human being who sees fit that he must make black people look like they are damaged and ignorant. Any serious black man or woman can see right threw this coward who hungers for support not for freedom of people but for money for his self. Al you are a coward excuse of a human being.

  • You are the coward. Rev Sharpton is a freedom fighter. YOU are a coward hiding behind a computer monitor.

  • Dont like the racist comments.. but this is a fat fuckn bigot

  • No, YOU are the fucking bigot. Rev Sharpton is a freedom fighter.

  • WAT

  • I HOPE YOU DIE THE SAME WAY YOU RECOMMEND THIS MANS DEATH. Please come to Harlem and say that!

  • one of my favorite speeches. thanks for posting it on youtube again!

  • This is one of my top 5 speeches of all time and a great American speech it shall ever be!

  • I love the part at 11:52!

  • This speech speaks at your soul. Truly one of the most underrated and one of the greatest speeches of out time!!

  • With all due respect to Barack Obama (an orator whose skill eclipses every public figure of the last 40 years), Sharpton's speech was THE oratorical event of the 2004 convention. More than hope and idealism, it speaks to the history of an entire movement of which too many seem eager to ignore. That line about our vote "being soaked in the blood of four little girls in Birmingham" gets me every time. Bravo.

  • I heard his speech back in 2004 and listening to it on here still gives me chills. Wonderful man, with a gift for telling it like it is!!

  • I'll never forget the "donkey" comment - one of the funiest things I'd ever heard in my life - I literally fell out of my chair when he said that! Too bad Kerry wasn't as convincing...

  • this speech is very underrated

  • Great Speech!!!!

Somebody can tell me the Name of the Song at the Beginning of the Video ???

    Thankx.

  • one of the greatest convention speeches

  • Not only that but anyone with a "reverend" title like Sharpton or Jesse Jackson would alientate a lot of people. He had a hard time with the Rev. Wright debacle so his campaign didn't need to get into another "pastor problem."

  • An incredible speech on a world stage, because he had the courage to throw away his scripted address and speak from his heart. It was amazing the first time I heard it and still is. It's a shame he wasn't given the opportunity to speak at the '08 DNC; maybe they were afraid he would present a prespective "too black" for the comfort of the masses (read hedging white voters)?

  • Clarence Thomas line was a banger!

  • I remembered the power of this speech and viewing it again tonight, for long years later, it not only brought me to tears but, it also inspired me and rekindled what I love so much about being a Democrat. Sharpton, like many of our firebrand politicians has his flaws but, none of them were evident in this powerhouse grand slam speech. From what I understand much of this speech was unscripted and angered the DNC who have not invited him back this time. That's a real shame. He might have topped it

  • OI dont like sharpton usually but i have to admit that is an incredibly powerful moving speech. amazining. blown away. then came John Kerry the phoney robot. thank god he lost.

  • Like him or not, his was the most galvanizing speech of the 2004 Democratic Convention. It's an amazing speech to watch if only to see a man speak so passionately and to hold the crowd in his hands like he does.

  • A great barn-burner of a speech. I remember hearing it live, and it was a very inspiring moment during those dark days of the early Bush years.

  • you are clearly dumber than a stone

  • Awesome speech. Much better than Obama's keynote.

  • exactly. persponally though i dont like sharpotn i mean THIS is a moving hionet raw speech. 50 times better than obama's this is real, whether you agree with him or not.

  • Say that Rev Al!!!!

  • He comes out to "We're a Winner" by the Impressions, written by the Gentle Giant Curtis Mayfield

  • God bless rev sharpton

  • Awesome speech. I loved it!!!

  • Wow!!! What a great speech! Rev. Al is one of the greatest leaders anywhere.

  • Believe it or not... this was actually a great speech!!!

  • Barack Obama's running mate? . . . NOT.

  • The Rev Al...this guy is funny...a human cartoon..

  • One of the best speeches of the past several years.
