howto install and setup Ubuntu 8.10 part 1

I installed it on XP.

I got Linux fully installed , ATI Drives are running into issues , Ati Cat. not working. wont install.

I put a Software called (Wine) for installing Windows Softwares on Linux. I have no luck. help. how do I get all my Hard drives to detect what computer Im using ?

F10 or F12 repeatedly. It loads into the BIOS loader screen, you select load from cd, and than than press enter.

its all good got nero and ask for a free cd and it works im get xbuntu for the old pcs i know nero will burn it lol

hto1971...sorry to hear your problems, but as I said above, Ubuntu doesn't work on every computer. It is very hard for me to understand what you typed. I assume english isn't your native language. ( that was not an insult) If I understand your problem, you can't get the iso to burn? I am assuming you downloaded the iso file to your pc. you then need something like nero that can burn an iso to disk. If your burning program isnt seeing your burner, how is that ubuntus fault?? please give more info

ive tri every thang i could to get ubuntu i came to the point ita all fake becase i can burn music all this the the iso recorder say there is no recorbal drive wtf it all hacks as to be maby i need to send a viruse to all this sites its fucxking stuped it like ok why not let people just down load the shit you got to get a iso o my god i gave people xp befor and did not have to make a iso for im to get it

The model is a Dell 530. If I were buying a computer for linux, I try to stick with Intel chipsets. But, with that said, I have only ran occross a few computers that Ubuntu wouldn't work on. If that happens I then install OpenSuse. I prefer Ubuntu because that is what I'm familiar with.

Sorry to here of your problem. Ubuntu doesn't work on all computers, unfortunately. I would try running ubuntu 8.04LTS, it's much more freindly.
