  • Piston rifles are great solutions for people with psychological DI rifle issues and open them up a whole new world of interesting actual problems ;)

  • What kinda of multicam BDU's are you running

  • I am thinking about purchasing a RRA Standard Operator with 20 inch barrel, mostly for hunting can someone give me good advise about this gun?

  • @scooter5519 from what i understand their great and not terrible on your wallet...some police departments carry them...not the one your considering but still im sure the quality is consistent

  • Nutnfancy, my oldest reports using .. 1:9 twist rate with LWRC M6A2 5.56mm rifle .. 20 inch barrel using 55 gr - 69 gr bullets .. he hasn't found a bullet it wont stabilize .. very accurate and showing good energy out to 200 yds.

  • Nutnfancy you made the NEW soldiers in the US ARMY feel like a piece of shit to compare to a NON MILITARY knowledge like you with all SHOWS about what you knew.

    - I talk to my father, some VETS and even some military officers that are friends of my father in Vietnam war about what they knew compare to you and ALL THEY SAID...

    - " In america, some do not know and never like to learn vs or compare to some one GO NUTs like you" kkk

You can go to 3rd world countries and become Mil Advisor!

  • @CharlieDoan How old are you 6? my autistic 10 year old cousin can compose a statement better than this, and thats an honest freaking statement.

First off, nutn was in the airforce for 22 years "Non military knowledge" my ass. His dad was a pilot during the vietnam era as well.

"Batteries run out poor m-4 with all electronics stuffs" your dad was supposedly in vietnam? they had no freaking electronic equipment on their rifles.

You need to leave this website and not come back for a long time.

  • @CharlieDoan You Know NOTHING you lie about your dads service, you are dishonorable and worthless. Please leave and do not come back untill you can compose a proper message, make sense and not lie about who you are and your experiences.

  • @Kylef7735 kkk

Why did I have to lie about my dad's services for? You guys ara afraid of the truth that I tell people or what? I don't have to lie anything about that! and I really don't know why you said that? YOU ARE A DICTATOR PERSON and hard to communicate!

  • @CharlieDoan Whatever you say buddy. find another video to post on to see if you can convince them of all you say.

  • i own several rock river arms and i think they are the best.

  • man i have about 810 dollers to spend at Cabelas and i would like to get eather a Rock river M4 a Stag Arms M4 but i want it to be Affordable-Tactical-Reliable so if you or anyone would sujest please help i am going to be going in a cupple of days to buy one... and this will be my first M4, but i do know how to shoot....

  • @APhelps91 I have a stag model 8, flawless rifle

  • @APhelps91 WELL First off it's not an M4. Those are only available to military personnel. It's an A4 model probably, BUT not M4.Ummm they're both worth the cost (In my opinion), But i'd look around even more. THEN decide, & weigh all of the Pros & Cons. ALSO, Most importantly TRY THEM BEFORE YOU BUY THEM.

  • @Privat3Kag3 NEVER WORK IN VIETNAM, when surrounding with VC and ran out of food, water and ammunitions (batteries ran out poor M-4 with all electronic stuffs go to hell compare with VC SKS and AKs wood stock and naked eye and attacked american on a rainy days. Like my father said..M16 (like the one in this video) are for rich soldiers more like a show NOT IN A BATTLE! like Vietnam 's battles. The best is M16A1 just like the one they gave to soldiers with clean up kits. That's all they need

  • @CharlieDoan Do you know what yer talking about???

  • Wouldn't that flashlight mount off the top rail get in the way of the charging handle.

  • Yet again, you come through with a GREAT review!!! I had already settled on the XCR-L, now I'm torn again..... In a good way...

  • great review, love the videos. i want one so bad but i have to decide between the RRA PDS and the LWRC M6A2. thanks again for the video, keep up the good work.

  • Not a bad option for those who REALLY need a piston gun. DI guns shouldn't be bad, but I'll look into this just in case. :P

  • Outstanding review. I have been wondering about this rifle for a while now. Thanks for doing this review and keeping it real. Looks like everyone had a great time shooting it. Awesome job!!!!

  • What type of LaRue mount should be used if you were to put on an Aimpoint Micro T1? Can a Magpul UBR stock be put on too? By the way this video is very informative and thank you for putting time into making it.

  • i got better groups out of my flint lock muzzloader at 80yrds with fixed iron sights

  • @chunkywizard69 I get better groups with my slingshot at 573 yards but neither of us have vids to prove it so its rather pointless for us to make statements like that.

  • I have to agree, this is one of the more innovative AR piston designs out there right now. I've really taken an interest in the pistol version of this weapon for a SBR project. I may just have to do it as I think it would make for a great video. Great review, as always.

  • lol best line in TNP "is she light enough"

  • Dude! Your gun-girl at the dance analogy Rocks.Pretty-Check;Light weight-Check; Reliable-Check...C'mon Nutn your Killin me! LOL

  • @nutnfancy can you please do a review on the Oakley factory pilot gloves? They are supposedly standard issue in the military and I would love to see a review on them thank you

  • Hey nutnfancy, can you compare this to the Adcor Bear Elite if you can get it? Tax return is coming up and I'm looking to get one of these two, since I can't afford a Scar H.

  • Comment removed

  • @JERMBUGS Read the Adcor BEAR review on m4carbine . net by freerunner.

  • @JERMBUGS Okay thanks, will do.

  • what kind of laser bore sight do you use?

  • "is the girl lightweight enough?!" <---- BIG LAUGH! ;-)

  • I love rock river, and want this carbine so badly!

  • Hey nutn,

Can you do a high value option for an AR rifle? Maybe one of Rock River's budget offerings?

  • hey nutn,

what scope would you recommend for a 16" AR.. ill be shooting about the same as you do in your runn-n-gun

    thankyou

    -jeff kerber

  • whats the difference between a carbine and a rifle?

  • Id like to see them replace that hand gaurd with a Troy/viking tactics rail so the shooter can choose were they put the rail

  • Is she lightweight enough,

    Is she reliable enough lol!

  • Impact has this gun now on sale for $1,449.99. I am saving up for a Beretta ARX 160.

  • @flashider556 has the ARX160 been released yet?

  • @machinegun911 The ARX 160 hasn't been released yet and they haven't given a release date. I would say it will be a good year before they start even producing them stateside. Getting the machines bought and setup in their U.S. facility takes some time and alot of money; cnc machines can cost $350,000.

  • @flashider556 I'll admit its a very cool rifle I first heard about it form a app for my ipod but I read its a prototype at the time. Then when Nutn saw it at shot show it looked amazing. I didn't know that it was planed to be produced here either I thought they said itd be produced in Italy then evetally moved here either way it'll sell very well in America

  • I really dig the simplicity and rear stock on this AR. Thanks for making this vid, was a good watch.

    -Solanum20

  • You cite your DI vs Piston video all the time but everytime I've tried to find it, it's never there. Am I missing something?

  • What's the length of pull with the stock fully collasped?

  • LOL thanks Nutn I was just about to order a Para TTR when I saw this review now more research for me to do :)

  • Gonna turn 21 soon! FOID HERE I COME! :D... I digress...

  • Rock River = Awesome!!

  • dug this shit outta this vid dude! i actually have the same TAG plate carrier (even in multicam) and the same electronic ear muffs so i got to go "hey! im a dork!" hahahaha...anyways, you talked a lil about the sights. would something like SIG556 sights work on it? would you try it with a lower scope mount? or an aimpoint or something? oh, where did you do that shooting? i dig that!

  • hellow

  • "is she light weight enough" nice haha.

  • Thanks for the review. Good info for making a purchase. Just got a RR 308 and you are right, best factory trigger out there. I trained on a M1, qualified on a M14 and spent my active duty with M16. The evolution of these firearms have been amazing. Thanks for keeping us up to speed. John

  • hello there, is that a L96 I spot on his back or a L115A3

  • @AceViper2414

Its either AE MKII or AW version. AE MKII it's cheaper civilian version, AW version it's the same as your military uses.

  • Nutn, when you took the gun down, and you pulled the bolt carrier group out, literally went "WHOAAAA..."

That is VERY different from an AR-15. Maybe I should have gathered as much from the position of the charging handle on the gun, but from the outside, looking at it through the ejection port, that bolt looks just like an AR-15's.

    Cool stuff.

  • Very cool! I was just about to get a DI gun because of the price and ergos akin to my patrol rifle, but this is an exciting option. I like all the points you hit on for weight/price but I would definitely need to learn the ergos of the trigger and charging handle versus my duty standard AR. Thanks so much for sharing!

  • Thanks for the reveiw mate=)

  • Been waiting for this review. wanted one but couldnt swing the extra 500 got the operator instead. keep it up.

  • Great review nutn, I've been pouring through the RRA catalog, drooling over the PDS, should I ever move to a free state (komiefornia) I will definitely be getting one.

  • Great review

Makes me want to buy one now

  • I think I like the more common AR-15 aesthetics, but this gone looks pretty cool. I'd love a chance to get out and test its functionality and handling characteristics. I was surprised by its accuracy that you posted. Thats pretty awesome! Would love to see your preference on a 7.62x51 AR platform. Off the cuff any preference? Thanks nutn!

  • I like my women like I like my guns: foreign, plastic, and well-oiled. Keep 'em lubed, one never knows!

  • Nice review. It's funny how much energy some companies are putting into piston driven AR platforms. I suppose it's just one more thing to keep the sales coming in.

  • Sig 556 SWAT or Sig 516 review, that would be cool

  • Comment removed

  • @MosinManiac76254 I do recommend getting a 556 that has the standard buffer tube rather than the "classic" SG551 style stock. Get a standard one and put a Magpul stock on the rear if it doesn't already have it. Sig's "classic" stock (The one that looks like an SG551 stock) is not the most durable design. You want one with the M4 style buffer tube. The original 556 stock looked ugly out of the box, but with a Magpul stock and the Sig "classic" forend on, it will actually look very good.

  • Comment removed

  • @MosinManiac76254 It looks like the 556 Patrol Rifle actually comes with a fixed length stock which can fold to the side (At least the new ones), which is totally different from the other variants. I think this stock is probably just fine right out of the box. Of all of the 556 designs, this newest version of the Patrol Rifle is, by far, the most ideal for the kind of use I envision (Home defense, WROL, etc).

  • @MosinManiac76254 The reason I recommend the Patrol is because of the shortened gas system. That is my one and only complaint on the original Sig 556. There is too much forward mass. The Patrol Rifle addresses this issue. One of the biggest things that sets the 556 apart for me is the trigger. I think it's EXCELLENT for real world use. The gun is also extremely reliable and very accurate (1 in 7 twist). The Patrol Rifle is likely the best 556 variant, but this RRA PDS is probably better.

  • @mindsmirror I've been an AK fan for a long time, and when I found out about the newer design gas-piston ar's, I decided to look into it, I have held a Sig 556 Swat at a gun store, it was front heavy, but what interested me most about it is that it has AK guts in it, can't get one because of money, but I never really liked the DI system, my freinds have DI AR systems, and they say it's a lot of maintenance.

  • WASR 10/63 review, please :)

  • I like my women like I like my guns.LOL Good looking, lightweight, and reliable.;)

  • I'm like'n it. Too bad It's just a loaner. Would be nice to see more of. Thanks freind

  • So...if you treat your guns like girls at the dance, were the hi-points like the fat, kinda ugly girl who you dance with because shes the only one left?

  • i liked the anology to a girl at a dance.

  • I don't know what to say about my Chrome lined DPMS mini-SASS barrel - That thing shoots groups that are hard to believe.

  • Nutnfancy, seeing how you are a 2nd amendment supporter, What do you think of Ron Paul. he was talking about getting rid of any regulations on the second amendment. He even said "automatic or not is irrelevant" it sound like he might get rid of the assault rifle and full auto bans

  • What advantage is there to using a 20 rd mag instead of the standard 30? Does it just make it easier to go prone with or something?

  • "is she lightweight enough" xD you're amazing dude lol

  • nutn i hope you are not shooting 75 grn out of 1in 9 twist i thought that could damage the gun i reload and the 69 grn sierras say for 1 in seven only that maybe why the hunting shack ammo is not shooting well

    great vi as usual whikisssh!

  • is she light enough? i just spit out my morning coffee. thats the funniest thing i've heard all week.

  • you should check out Primary Weapon Systems piston rifles i think you will really like them...and Impact Sells them too

  • Nutnfancy: how are we to know what you think is junk and never plan to review, and what you have/want/need in the pipeline. You have mentioned not being able to get hands on certian platforms, where can we volunteer to be suppliers?

  • love my colt no matter what u got sorry nfp

  • I've never understood people who scoff at RRA or have a problem with them...

It's one of the only brands I can trust to be consistent, and always give me a gun that will work, and doesn't need upgraded straight out of box. I've got some big money into mine now and the factory match trigger is still in the gun, if that's any indication.

  • Awesome review! I've been shooting a RRA barrel and upper for over 3 years with over 1000 rounds (wish it could be more). I can't say anything bad about them. Keep up the great work.

  • Over a period of time chrome lined barrels wear down and accuracy decreases. This rifle should be offered with a stainless steel barrel.

  • @RnG556 stainless steel is softer than chrome and will not last as long..the only thing offered in ar barrles that is harder than chrome is melonite..adam arms offers ( and stag too if i'm not mistaken) barrels, blots/carriers that are melonite coated....i do metals for a living..

  • somehow m only ever in my skivies when a new nutnfancy gun review comes out, i wonder why?

  • Looks like AK guts in a AR platform rifle.

  • I have begun, come for some.

    nice jam

  • where do you get all your gear

  • @geoff630 He gets them from a lot of places. He gets some loaners, just for testing. Other places are yourcornerstore, impact guns, etc. He'll mention them through. Generally, you can find most of the stuff he uses on amazon.com (as far as bladed tools and medical tools.) Guns and such are from a wide

  • "Does she have a nice personality?" XD

  • looks like they redesigned the voyager, fixing some of the problems IMHO with the handle.

  • Very interesting talking points. Especially for those of us who have lots to learn on these type of platforms. Rock River has been one that I've always considered. Just seems that I've heard good things about them whenever they come up.

  • Dude! I'm a huge RRA guy. I got a one had it about year and a half. Recently put a Nikon Buckmaster with BDC reticles. My gun with it's barrel and scope combo is pretty heavy. But for my pou ( as you say it) works great on coyote and varmint hunting. I have almost never had a problem, just 1 mag that did not like to feed when it was full. Not sure why. Anyways great review, love all the vids you put out. Glad to see the RRA especially.

  • I got my Rock River Arms (RRA) Elite Comp about a year ago, Man I wish I would have staled out a little longer. RRA is a strong company with awesome attention to detail, and their design of a piston driven AR sounds Amazing and I am excited to see one up close. Thanks for the Review Nutn

  • Nutn, what can you tell me about the Stag 8 ? I have been thinking about buying one but not sure. I think it's a good AR for the money ?

    HUM!!!!

  • @SLAYAXBOT

Kel tec RFB, non-restricted, and because it's 308, technically its a 'hunting rifle' as well, fn mags... Check nutn's review with chad from kel tec

Also benelli MR1, 223, uses standard AR mags, decent price, and non restricted

  • @ ihikearoundcom

I feel your pain up in Canada... Closest I have would be my ruger 10/22 or my Russian sks in it's tapco stock...

I have a dream, that one day, a Canadian can own an AR15, and have it be a non-restricted weapon!

Not quite as powerful as Martin Luther King, I know, but it's a start.

  • Great review. Keep up the good work.

  • Awesome review, I've always been a fan of RRA.

  • not that its a bad thing, but i think TNP is kinda gettin the reputation for reviewing the more affordable stuff. I know you want it to be the best of the best stuff....but really you review alot of stuff thats easy on the pocket book but still good. I believe there are alot better guns then what you review or better knives rather....but the price point on those is much higher. Thanks.

  • @chrisadmaley , colt, DD, BCM, instead of the hit parade of middle of the road Ar's

  • @dudley2112

right.... i would actually like to see more FN stuff. I shoot my scar 16s frequently and its a great gun. I also have a friend that owns the gun in this video. The scar blows it away in every aspect IMO ....thats why when he says he reviews the best of the best its not quite the truth. He does review some good guns for their specific price point. He never really reviews higher end stuff from what i have seen.

  • How about some weak hand shooting

  • "Stock up while you can" :)

  • Love your stuff dude keep it up

  • if this is one of the best piston guns you have shot, you gotta shoot the PWS MK114 series!!! you will never use another AR ever again lol

  • I'm surprised you reviewed this gun. My first thought when I got the tweet about it was "WTF, he's going to hate that gun", due to the bulky forend. My opinion: move the charging handle to the left side of the upper receiver, maybe chrome line or NP3 the BCG and inside upper receiver, and they would have a winner. As you point out, there is no weight advantage over other piston AR designs when you add the tri-rail (comparing apples to apples). I do like RRA though.

  • Great review. I wish the price was lower though.

  • great vid nutnfancy as always!!! im happy with my gas piston cmmg with a ergo free float rail weighing in at 71/2 pounds for the money you really cant beat it !!

  • I'm thankful for nuntnfancy videos. They make shifts fly by. My first AR was a RRA, love them.

  • I just got my 3rd US patent and from the award bonus I am in the market for a good starter AR I can use for home defense and 3 Gun. My limit is about $850. Any recommendations? I have Stag, Del-Ton (from my home state) and maybe RRA in my sights.

  • Hi nutnfany great vids keep it up.

  • @DerrakL337 a short major fail vid "sample of one" motto included, would make for a great short "nutn in front of camera with gear" philosophy of product reviewing ongoing vid series.

  • Dear santa i want one i have been a good boy.....thanks guys

  • I'm in love with this rifle... Probably the first AR I'm gonna get.

  • Was that Nuggetbuster?? If so, haven't seen him in a long while

  • I'd love to see one of these up with an .300AAC 18" barrel

  • @nutnfancy Is that an AICS stock I spotted? Remington or A.I.? That has me really excited seeing you guys hiking with tactical carbines and bolt guns! I've been waiting for this since I posted on snipers hide way back when asking you guys to do this. Thank you so much for listening, and by the way thank you for giving Walther some air time. I dig my P99.

  • @cmhfender Edit Sniper Prime***

  • Oh man that's the funniest gun analogy ever.

  • Hell yeah! Great job man!

  • Maybe, sense the charging handles fold in, they could make the charging handle bigger and long enough so as you don't have to carve your hand up on the rail system?

  • you also need to check the ergonomics and the value when you ask a girl to dance XD

  • I have the RRA entry tactical. Love it always wondered about those piston ARs

  • Me at first: yawn...

Me after seeing that the stock folds: 0.0 must. buy. gun.

  • Colt LE 6920 is a awesome AR 15.

  • I love my PDS Carbine (tri-rail) It shoots great, i love the folding stock. Great Rock River trigger as always. Also the fact that you can use a lot of the plentiful AR-15 lower accessories is a very nice bonus. The only thing I don't really like is how the monolithic rail doesn't extend all the way to the front, but is probably for heat exchange issues from the piston. Still a very great rifle for a good price.

  • A cheaper alternative to the acr if you want a folding 223 with charging handle above the hand guard

  • SW makes a really nice AR. Quad rails, free floated, mil profile chrome-lined barrel. DI, not piston, which I prefer. Dead nuts with a 1.5-5x20 scope.

  • Good video, glad you liked this carbine but it seems like RRA is just trying to reinvent the wheel with this one. Not seeing a professional following in this carbine's future.

  • I think i'm in love with rock river arms lol

  • shoot right !!!

  • LUDA!!!

  • Nutn, you really need to check out the ADCOR BEAR, fantastic piston AR, and shoots steel ammo all day long no problems

  • i wanted to ask here if this gun exists in real life? PDW-R

    link:

    battlefield.wikia. c o m/wiki/PDW-R

just remove the space betwen the . c o m

  • @noerden91 No, it doesn't :(

  • man i wanna move to america just to have this type of hobbie but it dosent seem too be the right time atm

  • I like the new camo barriers.

  • wow, do you actually own an entire state ?

  • at the beginning of this video, I was not into this rifle at all. But honestly, the folding stock and the charging system won me over. Awesome review man.

  • This will be my next AR15 qs soon as its available with a chrome lined 1:8 twist barrel..... Would also settle for same twist in a stainless barrel... Other then that im completely blown away by the design features... Just the fact that they made it a side folder {aka AR180} sets it apart from the rest of the crowd... I also like the forearm and full length pic rail up top.....Anyone else tired of AR15's covered in Pic Rail?

  • A 1 in 9 twist will work for up to 75 grain bullets. Why have more than that? Fact is you get the best accuracy when you max out your twist. Why do you think a REM 700 Police in 223 has a 1 in 9 twist?

  • great vid!!! when are you going to review an FAL or a PTR 91??

  • I think that gun would be a real winner with a single point sling attachment in the rear. It would also be awesome to see a decent spot to put a light on it.

  • it looks like, if that front piston housing portion gets hot under high rates of fire, you could get some burns with that charging handle right there.

  • great design! may purchase if the price comes down.

  • Great vid! Are you planning on doing a px4 storm review?

  • Hey Nutn, how about a comparison to Primary Weapons Systems Mark I Series? Diablo or any others. Looks like great PDS carbines too! Thx nutn!

  • All that accuracy and they equip it with a 9 twist?

    Really!?

Nutn saw poor accuracy with the 75gr Amax because the 9 twist aint makin it. :-)

8 twist or better to shoot the decent long range 223 bullets.

Here is a classic case of design following group think garbage.

The 223 is only a short range round when it is equipped with short range bullets. Properly loaded it shoots pretty much as well as most (in the 308 class) out at a thousand yards.

    Good review Nutn.

  • I really enjoy your videos, while I was listening to your wrap-up on this rifle I opened a window to the Stag Arm Model 3G and it is going for $1500. It's pistol driven with Magpul ACS butstock,Magpul MOE pistol grip and a Geissele 3 gun trigger,18 inch futed barrel,1 in 8 twist and a Samson Evolution freefloated hand guard..That was a lot to type. I would like to see you do a AR15 piston head to head like you did with the 7.62s in the Sledgehammer runs. Great vids, Thanks.

  • Anyone interested in a tar 21 video from a proud owner pm me

  • LWRC PSD 14" in 6.8, get Sledgehammered. pertty please Impact Guns? Nutn doesn't want to get all CQB on camera. Sledge don-cUur, Sledge show you can't hang with a full size AR on the battlefield.

  • I love the dance analogy, haha! So if a dude weighs his gun down with a bunch of unnecessary crap, does that mean he's into fat chicks? ;)

  • @matchstick10 Naw, its those sketchy ones with all the extra metal attatched to their faces...

  • @matchstick10 that or hes into those girls with the HUGE earnings and necklaces and other gaudy stuff

  • Hey, Nutn! You said (truly) that your reviews are of good gear. I would be interested in hearing about any major disappointments you've had.

Just like a quick 5 minute video saying, "Hey guys. Bought a flashlight a week ago. It drains car batteries in 2 min. on low. I called the manufacturer and they said to suck it. Etc." or "Picked up new pistol 'X'. On the 17th shot, it blew up. In other news my new channel is NineFingerNutn..."

    Only in serious let-downs, though.

  • I personally LOVE that forearm (we're all different right?) reminds me of the Stoner 63.

    UNDER folder!? Whoa, wow, unexpected.

Great review Nutn. Loved how you describe it as "smooth" seems like guns with that description work well generally. I think it's time to hit the hay, it's only 10:30 but hunting's got me all tired out and it's got my sleep schedule all outa wack. Catch ya later. =)

  • I'm so excited about this gun. So much more so now that I've seen it here. I think I'll wait to get it, until RRA has worked out more "bugs" (silencer, more stock options, such as a thinner folding stock). LOL hilarious girl analogy and the "if I get 'turned on' by it" lol.

  • so your going to do a review on a girl you met at a dance??!! hahha lol! nice video bro!
