  • CLUMSY!!! SLOPPY!!!

  • thats common sense...

  • what if the person is standing a feet away from you?

  • ran out of space...

As soon as the assailant see's any other body movement that indicates anything but compliance, he will shoot. A head swerve/body jerk will instantly tell him that you are not going to comply. since he's already expecting to see your hands come up, that move must be quick as lightning and you must attempt it as soon as the gun is in your face. best defense if to arm yourself. (ever hear the saying "don't bring a knife to a gun fight") well don't bring a fist to a gun fight.

  • From what I've heard in other instructional videos about this issue, the assailant is already expecting to see your hands come up. it's a psychological thing, an automatic response that the assailant knows is coming, and is anticipating to see an arm motion in his peripheral vision. However he is not expecting a head or body movement, which in real life may cause him to shoot. and you can't move your head faster than he can turn that gun and point it back at your head and pull the trigger.

  • I dont see this as a "mistake' nomatter how you get the gun out of the bad guys hand as long as you do it without getting anyone hurt,(other then the bad guy),is a good job.

I say this if by "mistake" you are talking about the gun flying out of the bad guys hand and not being taken away. I wouldnt care if it was knocked away with a bag of poop as long as it was out of the bad guys hand,

Thank you for the tip HoShinRyuMaster .

  • I watch a lot of youtube videos about gun point defense and I felt you're the man.

So I went to your website and confirm I was right.

About 20 years ago, an NBI agent (FBI in the US) in our country, went to a dojo to serve a warrant of arrest to the teacher and master for killing his wife.

When they face each other the aikido expert challenge the agent that he has to drag him for the arrest.

  • The officer pulled his gun and point it to the masters face.

The master tried to get the gun but the officer quickly move his gun (in a curve) to his left and upward and hit the side of the neck of the martial artists.

The master lost hi conciousness. So my question is what would you do if the bad guy has the skills of the agent?

  • Anyone facing down a gun deserves to get shot

  • I always take these type of disarming techniques with a grain of salt. Once a gun is introduced it changes the game up quite dramatically.

Not to mention these excersizes are never done under stress, you could be shaking and sweating and be totally of focus which would hinder your skills. A trigger finger is quite easy to manipulate, no fancy training needed.

  • sound

  • The "Master" should add 20 to seconds to explain that this is a defense against a gun "threat" and not an "attack." While it's true that if the bad guy just wants you dead, he can just stand 6 ft away and shoot.

Threats don't always end in a shooting, but can start from well within grabbing distance, but not always. The entire notion of gun defense is comepletely dictated by distance.

  • That's not exactly controlling the weapon, and I'd recommend he doesn't teach to smack a gun from a grip, People have strong grips and are tense when actually pointing a gun at someone, making this swatting move highly risky.

  • i thought of that same exact thing before....

about time someone else said something about it, i thought i was the only one with a brain.

  • What are you gonna do if the bad guy stands 6 or so feet from you?

  • Give him your wallet a chance may come up. If he is going to kill you he's going to kill you what do you do let him?

  • @HoShinRyuMaster i would say if i gave him his wallet and he is still gona shoot me i would run as fast as i can for cover... and yell for help....all you realy can do

  • @Alert87 find some cover

  • dude my instructors tells me that every day and that disarm my litte sister does it better if you weree a master it shuud have look like the gun disapeared

  • With all due respect to the gentleman here who refers to himself as "Master" on this video..People do not just stand there with their arms outstretched holding a gun. . There are words exchanged, people move backwards and forwards., different gun types & sizes, people are different sizes, there may be more than one gun present.. etc. ..Few, if any people have the credentials or authority to teach gun defense. If someone is robbing you at gunpoint give them what they want.

  • in another video showing a similar move they said to only use that disarm if you KNOW they are going to pull the trigger

  • Hey Massa. Lay off the Burger King.........lol

  • We will see what you look like when you get into your 60s! If you make it that far?

  • this is retarded everyone knows that. nobody is going to stand still when a gun is pressed up against them, its just common sense to incorporate the movement. the trick is the direction, you move towards them not away, and any instructor that tells you to stand still is a fucktard.

  • I haven't seen a handgun defense video that didn't teach the importance of moving the body. When the gun is against the chest, head, or stomach, moving the body is part of the move. Even using your torso muscles and cranked swing against those wrist and hand muscles.

  • Excellent tip! i've heard that tip from other very wise sensei as well, that is the only way to execute a disarm. They stress how important it is to move sideways.

  • he did make him loose his gun...

  • I think the best time to raise your hands is when the attacker orders you to put your hands up. Then, he/she is expecting you to put your hands up. That is your single opportunity to do any sort of gun defence, including moving to the side.

  • that is very wise. i fact that is the way me and my fellow students are taught.

  • GOOD ADVICE BIG GUY

  • it all depends wether the offender is an experienced one (whos not nervous) or a non experienced one (whos really nervous, and is shaking, and if u do ANY MOVEMENT, he wont hesitate to shoot)

thats when things can get awry...

  • this is not a mestake, in full speed it is difrent! and hallooo!...every martial artist know's this...dont watch to mutch steven segal, it's movie!

  • His poor English was understandable and doesn't discredit the point.

  • bitch like if u can speak better

  • probably better than 10yos

  • good

  • well done man.. i use to work as a bouncer and dealt with alot individuals with guns... i have had a friend loose an ear because he tried a disarm with out moving... and all those haters, always move away from the line of fire.. no matter how fast your hand reactions are.. it is not faster then a bullet..

  • chance would be a fine thing...

maybe its a try worth at least in a life-threatening situationbut the flip of a finger is much much faster than you can evade not to mention to grab his hand/weapon.

  • It's called hesitation + suprise that generally work against the offender. Many times the quicker you get closer to someone, the more fearful they become. Doing this makes them hesitate if they're not in the right state of mind for holding someone at gun point. Obviously you wouldn't do this to someone who was trigger happy. This should be used if you know you can't escape with your life using your wallet or anything else.

  • That was very nice. When you did it full speed I was like woah what just happened.. heh

  • mhh me not.. look at his body. He could be already shot as he leaned backward! that was way too slow...

  • Actually I am leaning off to his right not back away from him while I am doing the move.

  • but the gun is now on the floor, you need to have to gun
