  • but it was a great movie

  • we didn't see how the ship went down

  • who is the sinking szene :(

  • Very interesting. Thanks for posting this entertaining movie which shows the way people of other races were depicted in 1929. Fascinating. Note the guy shot trying to get into the woman and children's lifeboat (although I don't see any children). Good posting though! Thanks!!

  • @willieneal57 There was a child...alone...along the rail...AND, there was a black guy, even though he was shot, that was never shown in any of the other Titanic movies...Very interesting for the day....

  • wtf i see this ship this dosen't look like TITANIC

  • @Ivan6235 Oh, lord...why am I not surprised by stupid-assed comment...seems just when you think you've heard it all, someone comes up with something new. THIS is ONE OF THE FIRST TALKIES! It was made less than 20 years AFTER the sinking of the Titanic! Lord, God, Almighty..forgive this person of his stupidity of living in THIS day and not even thinking there was a YESTERDAY.

  • nearer my god to thee-love the end

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE :)

  • Very interesting that the violent man trying to get on a lifeboat is black. Says something about racial depictions at the time...

  • Shitty ending.

  • @alexander4488 -no need for bad words

  • @alexander4488 Oops, someone didn't do their homework! Would you have preferred a Tezuka-inspired Kraken saving everyone? Or maybe a rapping dog?

  • @DLAbaoaqu

Well, well, well... What a surprise!

  • @DLAbaoaqu I love that dog...

  • the band is playing nearer my god to thee

  • @armymenppl -yes indeed

  • did u notice that they are dressed according 20's fashion... not according belle epoque...

  • @maisondecouture I actually did notice they were "flappers" rather than the large hats and heavy dresses..

  • its wierd when you think that the actual titanic disaster was still in living memeory when this film was made :( thanks so much for the posting. xxxx

  • Too bad the camera work was so limited by the sound of the day. You'd have thought they would have done it silent and dubed it (if they could then).

  • 5:10

Spooky, all of the people singing that song are dead now. Spooky sounding.

  • The band is playing "To Be in Love." Which was published in 1929.

What's the name of this movie???

  • It was originally called 'Titanic' but they had to rename it 'Atlantic' after many complaints from the White Star Line. The story is set on a modern passenger ship in 1929, but uses the Titanic story as a plot line.

  • The same White Star Line which let be so much less survival boats, than the required , on the cruiser ? No doubt, thats what one may call the justice sense of "Progress"...

  • @Aaron1912 Naturally they would complain. White Star wanted Titanic to be forgotten.

  • fascinating

    Thanks for posting

  • What exactly do you mean by the Titanic story being set in the 1920's? Wasn't it in 1912? Thank you for uploading this, never seen it before. :D

  • The film was made in 1929 and the story was based on the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. They used events of the disaster but had the movie set in present day i.e. 1929.

  • Okay, got it. That is very interesting. Thank you!!

  • @scascencio -no

  • @BIG1LOST no what?
