There will be many who attempt to manipulate the Word of God in order that they may appear righteous, but in the end expose the sin in their heart. (Had the false accuser of the brethren done his research, he would have known that Jakes doesn't receive monetary gifts from the ministry. They may offer, but he turns it back to the ministry.)
Why aren't the bodyguards praising the Lord? Instead, they're staring out at the audience with their usual grim looks waiting for what? Why does Jakes have them? Why can't Jakes praise on half the bodyguards? Is that because the other half is comin' back?

They got chased, beaten and dead. Jakes is not of them at all, he is a wolf who needs bodyguards to protect his "anointed" person.

However, I do believe the man of God should be rewarded for all the things he does. My father is a pastor, and by no means are we rich, we are working class people, but I think he deserves to be compensated for the job he does. That lifestyle is taxing on an entire family, so Im not offended @ how blessed Bishop Jakes is. Also, the Bible does not say the preacher mus b poor.

I listen carefully to Jakes and have learned to predict his eventual appeals to fleshly interests in his hearers. That is exactly why he is rich. The wild reactions Jakes can induce, called Praise, complete with frenetic organ accompaniment, comes from expecting such things. But, do they ever arrive? I'd hate to see you drawn away from God by such manipulation.
@Jere616 Maybe the blessing he speaks of have never arrived for you because of your lack of faith. Bishop Jakes does not come up with wild teachings, but his sermons are scripturally based. There are many who have received such blessings that he speaks of. They are not always physically, but a blessing can be peace, or contentment. I see nothing wrong with the praise they give.
I lack faith in Mr. Jakes obvious consumption; in his resolute defense of living rich from ministry income. I lack faith in his manipulative sermons and theatrical manners. He makes promises in general so that anyone in particular can "prove" they're true. Con game. Testimonies are always trotted out to sell the claims. Testimonies always trump truth in the mind of the unsuspecting and those unskilled in the word of righteousness. Yet, Deut 13:1-3 and Isaiah 8:20 would handily expose the scam.

I'll just answer your last post with this: When ministers get rich off the gospel, it inflames the pursuit of riches in their flock, contrary to the dire warnings in 1 Tim 6 saying we cast off our faith over that lust. What do you think was one reason Paul refused to take a dime from Corinth? They were carnal and all they needed was to see Paul getting rich off them to be lost to mammon.

There is a biblical way by which all Christians ought to worship God and this (sad to say) isn't one of them!
No where in the New Testament are we told to do what this person is doing. Furthermore, many today fail to accept the fact that if anyone could have "danced" like in this video certainly it was our Lord Jesus; his 12- disciples; Stephen; Cornelius; and many others from the early church!
However, do we see anything like this video being done by them? .... Answer: An emphatic NO! :o)

For those that don't understand this, Bishop is teaching you to praise God even while the enemy MAY appear to have the upper hand! Without faith it is impossible to please God and if you can praise God even when the blessing is not in sight! MY LORD and MY GOD! Surely God will come through! God is not a man that He should lie! I'll just answer your last post with this: When ministers get rich off the gospel, it inflames the pursuit of riches in their flock, contrary to the dire warnings in 1 Tim 6 saying we cast off our faith over that lust. What do you think was one reason Paul refused to take a dime from Corinth? They were carnal and all they needed was to see Paul getting rich off them to be lost to mammon.

@Jere616 You seem quite intelligent yourself. I'll just say that if your are pastoring thousands of people, that is more than a 9 to 5 job. You have to be on call all the time. So for him to be rich does not seem to be a problem in my eyes.

There is a biblical way by which all Christians ought to worship God and this (sad to say) isn't one of them!
No where in the New Testament are we told to do what this person is doing. Furthermore, many today fail to accept the fact that if anyone could have "danced" like in this video certainly it was our Lord Jesus; his 12- disciples; Stephen; Cornelius; and many others from the early church!
However, do we see anything like this video being done by them? .... Answer: An emphatic NO! :o)

well thats because you have not meet REAL Christians walking in and striving in GOD's Word ( and please don't put all Believers in your box of hyppcrites or opinions) you have meet religious people. And my friend there is BIG difference between a religious people and people who have personal and I do mean intimate relationship with God.

For those that don't understand this, Bishop is teaching you to praise God even while the enemy MAY appear to have the upper hand! Without faith it is impossible to please God and if you can praise God even when the blessing is not in sight! MY LORD and MY GOD! Surely God will come through! God is not a man that He should lie!
