  • Brillant love the Dubs, please drop in and have a listen to my Makem Folk songs

  • great job mate.

  • Hi Karl

I really NEED to learn how to play this. you told another of your fans that you could supply the chord finger positions ......could I request the same favour.? I want to make a kareoke version to use as a soundtrack for my newest painting video that is still in production

    cheers

  • the way its played (that i do anyway) is to drop the whole tuning down a half tone - i don't have the pitch to get high otherwise - and then drop the top Estring to a D (although it will actually be C# if you go down a half tone, then it is basically G-C-D or a 1-IV-V tune

  • i'd lyk to sing wiv u ani day i'll put sum vids of me singing on subscribe ppl if u can play or sing in harmonys i wnt ya bbz ;) lol

  • we can try to do a video project maybe? rip this vid and sing harmony on it or something? anyway, thanks for watching! do a vid response too!

  • ça rock !! pas trés juste mais sympa!

  • merci beaucoup!

  • good guitar part but to be honest u cant sing

  • guess i'll have to work on the oul' vocals!

  • Lemme aks you a question buddy...have you checked the tone that this guy is singing? He is a boy and he tries to sing high in the tone that Duffy sings! To judge if the guy can sing we should listen to his voice in some lower vocal range!

    PS:Very ugly falsetto!Man!!!

  • it's way out of my range, i even tuned down half a tone! i'll know better next time to change key or something.

  • It s already high cause you are hitting A4(!!)and F#4 just for fun!

Friendly advice:If you have a car that its top speed is 120miles per hour, there is no point in driving it to 100-120..

Try tuning down 1 nad a half tone or even 2 tones!PS:I think you ve got a beautifull voice suitable for rock and country music!

  • trust me, if there is ever a retake it'll be tuned down three frets! appreciate the honest feedback too! cheers, and hope ya check out some of the other vids!

  • That is very cool! You really went with the vibe of this amazing song. :)

  • Well, probably you know that you're not the best singer, but hey, don't care about that, because you're the BEST guitar Player on YT!!!

And that you sing to that guitarPlaying is so amazing, it makes you a good singer again =)

    YOU'RE GREAT!!!

  • cool!

  • No ;

    Sorry

  • Well you made it even more catchy!

  • haha tht was great! your great at guitar!

  • i love this version... as a guy singing the song rather then a woman, its great!

  • thanks a million! take that as a big compliment, the guitar could have done with going down another half step, anyways, glad you enjoyed it. cheers

  • well done for attempting it but it was awful singing and guitar.

  • it certainly was at the limit of my range, i accept that, but awful guitar? well, i guess everybody is entitled to their own opinion! anyways, hope ya drop back to check out other vidz i do (if this one hasn't put ya off! :-) )

  • Man you fucking crazy stevenharper26 you need to get a better taste in music this is master piece and you just suck at every thing you do so you go and critique this so suck a dick brah

    googwork karl

  • what chords are those?

  • i tuned the whole guitar down a half step because its out of my singing range (and probably still is even with a half step down!) then i made a drop D on the 6th string which is actually a C# (because the rest is a half step down) then its basically a G C D 1-4-5 tune. if you don't get what i'm talking about email me again and i'll send a chord chart so you can learn it that way, ttyl

  • Very nice ;) good

  • this is a great cover, i love it!!

been trying to play this song myself all day too but cannot get anything remotely close to this :(

    xxx from Spain

  • so cool. great version !!

  • hey! I love your version!! Do you it's possible to have your tab? Because I tried to play it but it definitely doesn't sound like you!!!

    bye from france!!

  • drop the whole guitar tuning down a half tone (ie: E becomes D# etc) then the top string goes down a further full tone, its like Drop-D down a half step. does that make sense? if not i can send you the actual string notes and you can use a tuner to get it right.

  • so actually, it must be:

    (from low to high) D, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#

    right?

By the way: Great cover, i try to learn it now the way you play it!

    Greets from Germany ;)

  • the 6th string would be C#, (so its the like a drop D down half a tone) if you kept it at D you'd have the 2nd tone in where it doesn't belong. but the rest of the tuninng is right. of course, if you can sing really high then you can use normal drop D. have fun with it! any questions you can email me them

  • yeah, i got the fault now.

man, thats really hard singing and playing together.. than these chords.. not the easy way, though^^

    but its awesome man, awesome.

actually, karl, you are from germany to, are you?

  • i'm half american/irish, german name though! lived in ireland most of my life now. i like germany though, especially the food! its a tricky tune to start with but try it really slow and then speed up - and watch the singing notes, my high notes are flat all over the place! :-(

  • you're so good i love the video of superstar by the way ^^

  • hi kkk7hh, thanks for the good review! much appreciated! :-) karl

  • u kidding me? only 254 views?? nice play nice voice love to hear people sing ths song with emotions n1 5*

  • hey you! great texas sound... ;)

  • thanks! it probably came across that way because i spend too much time playing bluegrass! ;-)
